A series of distinctive cupboards, specially designed around the material NewspaperWood, characterized by a sound and finely detailed construction.
NewspaperWood is a new material invented by Mieke Meijer, developed together with the Dutch design label Vij5 and now produced and distributed by a new NewspaperWood company. It returns newspapers, which are made from wood, into wood again. When a NewspaperWood log is cut, the layers of paper appear like lines of a wood grain or the rings of a tree and therefore resemble the aesthetic of real wood.
Breg Hanssen, the designer of the Framed cabinet, was fascinated especially by the indeterminable but distinct colour of the NewspaperWood material. To emphasize this quality he decided to incorporate NewspaperWood into a piece of furniture by combining it with contrasting colours. With this he literally ‘frames’ the material in coated steel. The cabinets are build out of a solid steel frame which can be delivered in different variations and colours.

We designed this space to be worthy of family gatherings, elegant parties, and simply sipping morning coffee over the newspaper. The curving design flows organically from space to space while custom trim work and railings add sophistication and elegance.

Often a corner goes unused, but this was the perfect spot for a small game table for two, with good lighting from the floor lamp. The wallpaper pattern is subtle and organic with a textural sheen, a good background for the large watercolor of the gentleman reading a newspaper.

A serene riverside retreat in Aspen, this home blends natural materials, custom details, and modern lines to create a timeless, sensory-rich sanctuary rooted in calm, connection, and flow.
In this cozy lounge, we added a plush, sheepskin armchair and a sculptural side table. The rich wood shelving is filled with books, art, and greenery, creating a stylish and inviting space for relaxation.

An eclectic mix of materials was the request for this kitchen. Following an inspirational picture that the clients had clipped from a newspaper, we made this kitchen come to life. Herringbone laid floor tile, rough knotty alder cabinetry, with a vintage finish on the island and touches of metal in the copper hood and sink.

Nestled in Pasadena's Old Mill neighborhood, this 1977 two-story home underwent a dramatic transformation. The once cramped, dark kitchen was reimagined into a light-filled, wellness-centric space. With custom-stained white oak cabinets, a ten-foot island, and high-quality kitchen appliances, this kitchen is perfect for health-conscious empty nesters.

We were lucky to find this old tire shop sign that included the name of the distant family line! 2 newspaper chairs frame the bold, unique sign turned artwork!!

This clawfoot tub is one we restored for this customer. This is in an article in The Tennessean which is one of Nashville's newspapers. Here is a link to the article:

This beautiful 1940s remodeled kitchen took 7 months to reconstruct, starting with a complete gut and tear down of the whole interior. Many cool things were found in the walls such as war gas masks, old newspaper clippings with cartoons and appliance ads. The owners love hosting friends and family so the large island and built in sink with faucet was important. This kitchen also includes a Wolf range, SubZero refrigerator and Sharp microwave drawer.

A fabulous kitchen look filled with fabulous antiques, including a rustic wood table, elegant linen chairs and vintage newsprint wallcovering.
