Adding to the intimacy and level of dynamic of the overall design, the designer chose to partially penetrate one of the existing walls for the project, adding additional display space to an otherwise non-decorated kitchen.

This 4,500 sq. foot house is set on a spectacular coastal site overlooking the Yankee Point and the rocky Carmel coastline. The house is comprised of three volumes, each with a distinctive roof shape, and is organized around an outdoor courtyard that is screened from ocean breezes. Built with sustainable materials, each space enjoys dramatic views of the ocean crashing against the jagged California coastline.

Reconfigured master bathroom by taking out a non used bathtub to make room for a new large walk in shower and double vanities with new cabinetry and countertops. Bianco Gioia Marble throughout for the shower tile, floor tile, wall tile, and countertops. Guest Bathroom replaced existing dated tile with new marble floors, shower surround, and countertops.

Birch stair caps, railing and posts custom stained to match the existing floor in the home. We use water base non-toxic (odourless stains) and a commercial finish on the top. This stair case is accented with white stringers, risers and spindles to bring over warmth to the stair case.

Care was taken to conserve mature landscaping. Two large palms appear to grow out of the new decking area, and were carefully considered throughout the design and building phases. Improvements include removing a non-fruiting citrus tree near the homes foundation and successfully transplanting a mature Japanese maple. Existing landscaping was trimmed substantially and new specimens were added.
