Builders special living room given personality by painting some of the white trim a neutral to blend in with fireplace more smoothly. The brick surround on the gas fireplace needed paint to make it go away, as the look was too cluttered before. Unecessary curves were erased from the millwork because they didn't relate to anything else architecturally. A brutalist 60's C. Jere sculpture was the perfect accent to the fireplace wall. Custom trapezoidal chow tables are in front of the Roche Bobois sofa.

_Photograph by Kim Schmidt_ The centerpiece of this photo is the mirrored modular stacked wood containers that added a modern architectural element to the room. It added storage while expanding the space with mirrored sliding doors. The unit was designed fashioned to stand free to define a space or against a wall where space is limited. The white-painted unit pictured is approximately 5' wide and 10' high with mirrored doors, sliding panels and open display areas. It can be configured to hide your media or display a flat-screen TV.

© Rob Schmidt This kitchen was completely customized for the family I did the renovation for. The client wanted a functional yet colorful kitchen. I used Mondrian for inspiration. The cabinets are wood, aluminum, and ebony veneer. The veneers are by the Italian company, Abet Laminati. They also did the laminate for the fridge and island counter. The bottom cabinets are Aluma Steel. The countertops are ice white Caesarstone. The backsplash is apple martini Caesarstone. The floor are Italian porcelain 12 x 28 inch tiles. The appliances are Sub Zero and Miele. The island is quite large & is made of freezer drawers on the end closest to the fridge and a steam oven adjacent to it, across from the oven.
