A well-hidden place where the spirit finds its peace, nested between the Romagna, the Marches and Tuscany. Entering the gate, one leaves behind the pace of chaotic lives, and abandons itself to the joy of living of this ancient land. It is meant to be understood as a site of experience, where nature, culture, history and pleasure are elevated to the centre of things in order to finally rediscover it in oneself. A sort of “back to the simplicity”, aiming to dedicate oneself to observation and drawing from it valuable experiences for one’s life. Each of the three houses presents itself as an unexpected world in its own right, closed in on itself and yet a harmonious part of the whole, waiting to be enlivened by lively laughter, animated conversation and playfulness. This territory is a paradise for lovers of nature and the great outdoors. The sheer variety of places and landscapes enables visitors to take excursions on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike. History and architecture enthusiasts can follow an itinerary of strongholds and castles dotted around the area. Lovers of gourmet food will discover a full range of traditional dishes and quality local produce all year round. The rich variety of museums enables exploration into the rural arts, medieval architecture, archaeological finds and contemporary art.

A unique accordion wood expanding dining table and Scandinavian chairs designed by Hans Wegner have great views of the San Francisco bay through clear glass guardrails of the deck outside. High vaulted ceilings reflect the home's ranch-style origins and Fleetwood sliding doors and operable windows complete the space.

This master bathroom features an Americh "boat" white acrylic freestanding tub. The sink is and undermount IPT sink. The vanity is a Sollid Newport style in white with Richelieu pulls and the countertop is a Pental quartz in Sparkling white. The backsplash strip is a Lucente Linear stone mosaic blend called Grazia. The shower has a glass enclosure with a tile niche and glass shelf using the same linear mosaic splash. The wall tile is a Spectrum Porrima that is laid in a stagger pattern. This Noe Valley whole-house renovation maximizes natural light and features sculptural details. A new wall of full-height windows and doors allows for stunning views of downtown San Francisco. A dynamic skylight creates shifting shadows across the neutral palette of bleached oak cabinetry, white stone and silicone bronze. In order to avoid the clutter of an open plan the kitchen is intentionally outfitted with minimal hardware, integrated appliances and furniture grade cabinetry and detailing. Michael Merrill Design Studio created this space for a retired couple who wanted to create a home in San Francisco to winter in each year. The building they chose was a lovely 1936 Art Deco structure facing the San Francisco Bay. The Asian artifacts the homeowners collected during their travels were incorporated prominently.
