A MODERN MISSION The challenge in this Ottawa South home was to update a turn-of-the-century home’s kitchen, preserving the Arts and Craft styling while providing the modern conveniences required by today’s lifestyles. The classic lines and warm colours combine to create a functional and inviting space. The upper cabinets do double duty, offering long-term storage space as well as providing extra lighting. A salvaged antique door with sandblasted glass replaced an inappropriate modern door. A custom cherry heat grill was crafted and stained to match for the stool side of the peninsula. With careful attention to detail, the painted and damaged mouldings in the dining & kitchen area were replaced with new ones that were finished with stain & amber shellac to help them blend seamlessly with the old ones. Mission accomplished.

What makes a bathroom accessible depends on the needs of the person using it, which is why we offer many custom options. In this case, a difficult to enter drop-in tub and a tiny separate shower stall were replaced with a walk-in shower complete with multiple grab bars, shower seat, and an adjustable hand shower. For every challenge, we found an elegant solution, like placing the shower controls within easy reach of the seat. Along with modern updates to the rest of the bathroom, we created an inviting space that's easy and enjoyable for everyone.

Rather than placing the dining room table traditionally into the center of the room, the Mohrman's opted to push it to one side. While this orientation allows for direct passage into the kitchen and rooms beyond, it also increases the spaciousness of the dining room overall. The house originally sported popcorn-textured ceilings until recently when Kiel designed and constructed the beams and paneling for the ceiling. "It was the best way we could think to deal with wiring issues in the ceiling", explains Chelsea. "The new wiring runs through the beams, and it all adds to the charm of the home." Contemporary landscape design offers a grand simplicity to this English traditional cottage in West University, Houston. Paving with clean lines and artificial turf replace what was a muddy, underutilized space. A concrete walk frames the children's play lawn and offers a path for bikes. Inheriting a white kitchen with glazed cabinets was not what this new homeowner expected. She is more of a shabby-chic farmhouse type. Our St. Pete studio designed this stunning home in a Greek Mediterranean style to create the best of Florida waterfront living. Not far from the Maine coastline, this renovation project showcases the power of creative reimagining. With an elevated deck in need of replacement, the clients envisioned a new space that would fill with sunshine and offer them the potential to nurture plants throughout the year. Offering full-service design and construction, Sunspace stepped in to make it happen. The Sunspace team began by replacing the existing deck structure, creating a solid, raised, insulated foundation that would receive the greenhouse addition. A high-quality aluminum frame was chosen for its durability and sleek lines, blending with the home's existing architecture and fitting snugly into the corner of the exterior walls.
