These were not easy to make. Let me start with that. Mahogany wood and plywood are not the problem; the precision required to make it all fit right was. They are stained. And I used an oil-based polyurethane for ultimate durability and a richer look (than water-based). Customer had lighting added. I will add pics of that when I receive them.

The Lynx coffee table is made from a live edge slab with steel trapezoid legs, powder coated in matte black. Lynx is named after a constellation in the Northern Hemisphere’s sky. In some mythology, it also means “keepers of the secrets of the forests.” The Lynx coffee table has been commissioned in live edge Walnut and Eucalyptus, but is available in a variety of species. The Stoa Pavilion (Options: 35' L x 16' Triangle Base W, Mature, 6 Post Anchor Kit for Hurricane, No Electrical Wiring, 9.5 ft Post Height, No Privacy Panels, No Curtain Rods, Standard Post Style, Off White Oil Based Primer).

This custom made slab dining table was designed and handcrafted by Earl Nesbitt. The live edge table has a highly figured bookmatched Sonoran Honey Mesquite top. The inset custom fit glass inlay showcases the trestle base and slab legs. Dimensions: 127" x 44" x 30" tall. Hand rubbed tung oil based finish. Original design with hand carved signature by Earl Nesbitt.

Microcement floor (2500 square feet) installed over a Warmboard heated floor system. The entire floor was covered in the Warmboard system, and then Hardi backer board ¼ inch was embedded in flexible tile adhesive and screwed down over the warmboard. The seams were all taped in with 5StarFinishes Adex fledx tape and megalite tile adhesive. The final installation had 5StarFinishes EIFS mesh applied over the hardi backer board after two layer of diluted quartz primer was applied. The final decorative layers of Microcement Floor Fine were installed over two smooth layers of Microcement Floor Base, and sponged to remove pin holes and trowel marks. We color matched the plaster to the shade Creek Bend. Final sealer was chosen to be 5StarFinishes Hi wear oil based sealer with Aluminum oxide for extreme wear and stain resistance. Completed in 2022. Install not including warmboard and Hardi backer board: $50,000

Primed and painted a metal fence in oil based enamel gloss black. Should last a really long time.

We removed the popcorn using a damp technique, covering everything with painter's plastic to control the dust. After we remove it, we sand and dust ceilings well, making sure not to disturb the paper tape between the butt-joints. After sanding and dusting we spray double-knockdown on ceilings. After texture cures we seal the ceilings with an oil-based primer/sealer. Heavy clean-up. Then we repainted all walls, doors and trim.

Inspiration for an entryway remodel in Chicago

The final look of the kitchen island cabinets after two coats of oil-based stain & two coats of polyurethane-based clear coat. New handles and new soft close rails for the drawers were installed as well.

A new painted finish on the armoire allowed the various moulding changes. The cabinet exterior is painted in a special furniture finish paint from Benjamin Moore. "Advance" is the latex paint quality that performs like the old oil base finishes. I like to use a "Satin" sheen level. This is my favorite dark grey accent color called "Iron Mountain". The Turkish Tassle ties the varous colors together - picking up the gold wall color and the darker greys, and hangs on the antique key hardware on the upper doors. For continuity the cabinet interior was also painted "Iron Mountain" adding a top coat of black crackle finish, which allows the "Iron Mountain" base color to show through on the crackle areas. This is more interersting than having a complete black interior, but still works well with the black TV components. Photo: Jamie Snavley
