The flooring tile in this lovely kitchen picture is our 12x12 Saltillo regular square tile in its natural color variations. They are sealed with our oil based sealer (semi gloss). You can also have the Saltillo tile stained and sealed in brick red, antique birch, soft brown, walnut, or white wash. Other sealed options are glossy, and matte. The very welcoming Talavera tile in this picture are the following: T31 Solid Off White 4x4 (counter top), T67 Decorative 4x4 (counter top), T83 Decorative 2x4 SBN (surface bullnose, edges). These tiles are sold per piece. (Saltillo tidbits: The area of Saltillo Mexico where the tile is made has the proper mix of clay, climate, and dedicated workers to produce one of the world's most popular tiles. Saltillo tiles are not merely "sundried", they are also kiln fired. The way in which these tiles are stacked and positioned in the kiln produces their natural shading and range of colors. A modular sectional sofa with custom silk pillows anchors the low-profile living seating arrangement. A large cowhide hide is flanked by contemporary lounge chairs and tempered glass and iron tables. The wall seen behind the couch features an original abstract painting produced by the designer, above an antique French console. A chrome and glass pendant light sets the stage in the stepped entry landing. A bent glass console table and a custom wall clock now sit where a bedroom doorway was eliminated. The walls are painted Sandy Hook Gray a tough walls flat latex with trim painted in White Dove a satin oil-based impervex enamel. Lafayette artist Christopher LaBauve was commissioned to create a 7’x7’ abstract landscape painting to face a large set of windows in the dining room. The painting channels the styles of Pollock, Twombly and Friedman. The wood panel features a reptilian texture created from black speedball tattoo ink and archival bookbinding resin, mounted in a custom floater frame. Highly pigmented paint powder creates swirls of yellow, the home’s signature accent color.

This gorgeous wide plank antique Oak is our most requested floor! With dramatic widths ranging from 6 to 12 inches (14 inches in some cases), you can easily bring an old-world charm into your home. This product comes to you completely pre-finished and ready to install. We start by hand sanding the surface, beveling the edges ever so slightly, and being careful to preserve the historical integrity of the planks. Typically, about 80% of your flooring will be "Smooth" with the remaining 20% having a slight texture from the original saw kerfs. This material will also have nail holes, knots, and checks which only adds to the unique character. Next, we apply Waterlox, a tung oil based sealant with or without stain added. Finally, 3 coats of Vermont Polywhey finish are added with a hand buffing between coats. The result is a luxurious satiny finish that you can only get from Historic Flooring!
