On a site first believed to be unbuildable, careful structural and architectural integration allowed the guest house to emerge from this previously vacant hillside, mediating a twenty-five foot grade change. The design of the guest house is intended to reflect the massing and character of the existing 1875 Victorian main residence, while a new pool and shared landscape further integrate the two structures. Considerable effort was made to strip layers of ornamentation until the essential elements that define the building are expressed, with structure and natural materials exposed.

The clean lines of the white rectangular pedestal sink and matching toilet are repeated in the mirror, window and French door. The ceramic stone-look floor tile is set on the diagonal to break up the geometry a bit. A handsome light fixture featuring the symbol of hospitality, the pineapple, coordinates with the palm frond design on the accessories. The golden metal of the light fixture is echoed in the faucet and towel bar as well as the border of the mirror.

Entry Console in French Country inspired furnishings project. Project scope included selecting new flooring and refurnishing the entry, living room, and dining room of this family home. The client's heirloom dining set and some existing art and accessories was inspiration for the French Country influence. This budget friendly furnishings project needed to include a pull-out sofa for overnight guests, and curtains for light control when used for sleeping, plenty of seating for hosting gatherings, and storage for some supplies and instruments for family jam sessions.

This alpine style playhouse was inspired by the gingerbread house in Hansel and Gretel. We gave it a white stucco exterior and a composition roof reminiscent of gingerbread. The windows and door were purchased from architectural salvage yards in Seattle and painted candy colors.
