The eating area is now a comfortable sunroom, as an extension of the kitchen with a view to their beautiful back yard thru the French doors. We also included two cased openings into the family room. The master bathroom remodel included an arched opening and with a little cabinet & toilet rearranging, the powder room created more floor and storage space. I was hired to update this condo, working around the existing countertops as they were something the owner didn't want to replace. I selected a paint color for the cabinetry, feeling like the cherry cabinets just didn't fit in this space, nor did they seem to be the right compliment to the existing granite. I hired Haven Finishing Studio to work their magic and transform the cabinets into what looks like a brand new kitchen! They did beautiful work!!! Removed the outdated backsplash and replaced it with a metallic back painted glass subway tile. Removed track lighting in the kitchen and living room and replaced with vintage industrial modern lighting. The original master bath suite in this rustic lake house possessed high ceilings with multiple rooms and all surfaces covered in Knotty Pine. Although there were multiple windows in this space, the wood walls, floor and ceiling tended to absorb natural light and force the illumination to come from incandescent Amber fixtures. Our approach was to start with a blank slate by removing all existing partitions and doors. A metal and milk glass wall with a functioning transom and integrated door, was designed and fabricated to divide the space and provide privacy, while allowing light to transfer from the shower, water-closet, bath and dressing room. The welded steel frames his and hers vanities have inlaid white glass panels with integrated steel framed mirrors above.

The old dark cabinets were replaced with off-white cabinets with cashmere glaze, a large new bay window was added as well as recessed lighting to brighten the kitchen. A dramatic 5 foot Galley Workstation was added as the sink requiring 2 faucets. Dramatic Titanium Black Leathered Granite counters were used throughout the kitchen.
