Inspiration for a dining room remodel in Orange County

Classic architecture always makes a room fun to design. This Tudor styled home located in Rye NY features so many wonderful spaces. This solarium, surrounded by gardens and an outdoor water feature, is the ideal brunch spot or gathering place for cocktails. Outfitted with plantation styled fans, blown glass candle lantern lighting and two square urn styled zinc tables provides the flexibility ideal for that weekly bridge game. The Sunbrella fabric on the parsons chairs adds that touch of practicality essential in any well designed outdoor living area.

Dining turned into a intimate breakfast nook and coffee sipping area. It is multi-functional with a desk on the other side. The coffee bar is just steps away from the breakfast area.

We used the customer's existing dining room furniture, but added the parsons chairs at either end of the table. The customer had these chairs in another room, so we recovered them in a Robert Allen paisley for use in the new dining room. Custom draperies in a circular boucle design were made and hang from custom drapery hardware. We painted the ceiling inset in one of our accent colors, and chose modern lighting to make this more transitional. A custom carpet rug in a cursive script pattern was made to size to go under the dining table and chairs.

Here the Mainstay Sofa, Loveseat, and Chairs pair with the Rosaline Occasional Tables and Melody Table Lamps. Rock Island Parson Barstools provide seating in the counter height bar area.
