Inspiration for a coastal master green tile and ceramic tile porcelain tile, single-sink and wainscoting corner shower remodel in Boston with green cabinets, a one-piece toilet, white walls, a vessel sink, quartz countertops, a hinged shower door, white countertops, a built-in vanity and flat-panel cabinets

Bringing in one of the more traditional components of the space, the designer went with this beautiful French glass partition wall to separate the shower from the space. By using glass, the shower is still very much a part of the space, while providing framing and distinction between the wet and dry areas of the room.

We extended the vanity by shifting the toilet and adding a sink to make it a double and operate as more of a primary bathroom space. We also removed a half wall at the original built in tub to accommodate and create a more open space for a modern freestanding tub. Lastly, we opened the shower area and took the full height partition wall into a half wall with open glass above to continue to make the entire space feel more open.

This house, built in the 1960s, sits southfacing on a terrific wooded lot in Bethesda, Maryland.
The owners desire a whole-house renovation which would improve the general building fabric and systems, and extend the sense of living out of doors in all seasons.
The original sixties-modern character is preserved and the renovation extends the design forward into a contemporary, modern approach. Connections to and through the site are enhanced through the creation of new larger window and door openings.
Screened porches and decks perch above the sloped and wooded site. The new kitchen and bathrooms allow for opportunities to feel out-of -doors while preparing, cooking, dining, and bathing.
Smart passive strategies guide the environmental choices for this project, including envelope improvements, updated mechanical systems, and on-site stormwater management.
