Surrounding walls, painted in lighter gray complement the custom woven tan, indigo and rust-colored Navajo rug.

OPPORTUNITY: The client felt weighed down by the family heirlooms that she couldn’t bear to part with, but couldn’t imagine them in her own home. RESULTS We created a “new traditional” - integrating old family heirlooms and discovering the beauty among the relics. She is now proud to show the history that tells the story of one family. White built-ins and traditional wallpaper chosen by the architect is counterpoint to rustic elements. Earthy and elemental materials are selected for the home that reference the barn without directly mimicking it. Wooden members found inside the barn and from other barns bridge ceilings and are used in floors along with rustic slate adding to a sense of simplicity to the farmhouse design.
