Our clients sat down with Monique Teniere from Halifax Cabinetry to discuss their vision of a western style bar they wanted for their basement entertainment area. After conversations with the clients and taking inventory of the barn board they had purchased, Monique created design drawings that would then be brought to life by the skilled craftsmen of Halifax Cabinetry.

Inspiration for a mid-sized transitional u-shaped ceramic tile and multicolored floor utility room remodel with recessed-panel cabinets, dark wood cabinets, laminate countertops, yellow walls and a side-by-side washer/dryer

This talavera tile accent wall began with the small section to the right of the doorway, as a way to bring some interest to an awkward space (27"wide and 7"deep). The effect was so striking that we decided to do the entire wall. An unexpected surprise was the way the tiles make the arched doorway even more of an architectural feature. The ceiling is tongue-and-groove pine boards that were originally done in a pickled finish, but were sanded to the original wood for this project.
