The homeowners wanted to take advantage of induction cooking, but were hesitant because of their unfamiliarity. I suggested reducing their cooktop from 36” to 30” and adding a 15” gas cooktop. Western Red Cedar is used often in exterior timber framing–because it is highly rot resistant. It is also shrinks less as it dries than many other species, and is lightweight, but fairly low in strength. The Plato “mission” style white oak cabinets in a warm Briar color feature soft close/glide drawers. The bath has a warm spa-like feel, thanks to the heated floor featuring Anatolia Tile & Stone tiles. These 12 X 24 inch Porcelain tiles look like bamboo with a noticeably raised yet easy to clean non-slip surface. The same tile was used for the shower walls to provide an anti-slip texture that hands can feel.

Normally I would not suggest taking work to the bedroom but this modern family's needs made it work!
