From the outside it exhibits the typically straight-lined and delicate design that one expects from Yomei. The surprise and the real highlight of this latest addition to the collection is hidden inside the console. A spacious drawer with plenty of storage room and a variable inner drawer open to reveal the perfect storage system. As an optional extra, a triple power socket can be mounted in the drawer and underneath the console. You can stow your mobile phone, iPad or MP3 player in the velvet-lined drawer and recharge it simultaneously, the technology being invisible. Even equipment placed on top of the console can be ‘powered up’. The SMART makes organising cables easy thanks to variably positionable magnets. The cables run underneath the console or through the metal frame, skilfully kept out of sight. Kimberlee Marie InteriorsWhen our client came to us, she was stumped with how to turn her small living room into a cozy, useable family room. The living room and dining room blended together in a long and skinny open concept floor plan. It was difficult for our client to find furniture that fit the space well. It also left an awkward space between the living and dining areas that she didn’t know what to do with. She also needed help reimagining her office, which is situated right off the entry. She needed an eye-catching yet functional space to work from home.
In the living room, we reimagined the fireplace surround and added built-ins so she and her family could store their large record collection, games, and books. We did a custom sofa to ensure it fits the space and maximized the seating. We added texture and pattern through accessories and balanced the sofa with two warm leather chairs. We updated the dining room furniture and added a little seating area to help connect the spaces. Now there is a permanent home for their record player and a cozy spot to curl up in when listening to music.
For the office, we decided to add a pop of color, so it contrasted well with the neutral living space. The office also needed built-ins for our client’s large cookbook collection and a desk where she and her sons could rotate between work, homework, and computer games. We decided to add a bench seat to maximize space below the window and a lounge chair for additional seating.

The residence was originally designed by Victor Hornbein, a legendary local architect best known for his work (along with Ed White) on the Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The homeowner, himself an architect, spearheaded the project with the goal of staying true to Hornbein's original vision.
Part of the two-year restoration included the addition of state-of-the-art appliances and lighting, and eventually the planning of the audio/video.
Because the homeowners wanted to have the functionality of a first-rate home theater in a multipurpose room, ListenUp designed a setup featuring a wall-mounted 84-inch Sony 4K TV. The sleek Salamander credenza houses a McIntosh LCR80 center channel speaker, the top-of-the-line MX151 preamp/processor, an MC303 pwoer amp, and the MVP 891 universal disc player. The credenza is flanked by tow McIntosh XR100 speakers whose high-gloss finish mirrors that of the cabinet's smoked-glass doors. The surround channels are handled by two CS100 in-ceiling speakers, and three REL subwoofers deliver dramatic deep bass.
This is truly a whole-house audio system, with 12 zones of audio throughout the home and outdoor areas. Family members can access their favorite music services and music stored on a local hard drive. A high-quality Pro-Ject turntable is even wired into the system.
In the kitchen and some of the other first-floor rooms, the mid-century modern design is enhanced by custom wood and fabric grille covers for the architectural speakers. The pool area benefits from a Sonance outdoor system that employs strategically located speakers along with an underground subwoofer. And, of course, it's all connected to the Sonos system for endless entertainment options.

K&P Builders, Inc.K&P Builder's Villager VI model home at Kingsview, in White Plains, MD, features a gorgeous side sunroom addition. This room is accessed through the formal living room and features floor to ceiling windows, including transoms and a large circle top window! The ceiling is vaulted and features 4 skylights. Enclosing this room are glass French doors. The room includes a separate HVAC system, too. The piano is courtesy of Rick Jones Pianos out of Beltsville, MD. This piano has an awesome player system included that reads off of special CDs and flash card input! This is a beautiful and most desired feature in K&P Builder's beautiful, custom built, homes.
Cowbell DesignsThe Johnson Residence project, designed by Cowbell Designs, encompasses a comprehensive enhancement of the property to suit the client’s lifestyle and preferences. Here’s a description of the project’s features:
Garage Addition: A new garage was constructed adjacent to the existing one, equipped with larger doors to accommodate the client’s large trucks, which could not fit through the original garage doors.
Driveway Extension: The driveway was expanded in both width and length, now reaching the city road, with the necessary public works permitting obtained for this extension.
Front Porch Expansion: The front porch was extended with a newly designed roof and beam system, enhancing the view from the porch and from the interior window behind the porch area.
Pickleball Court: In the backyard, a pickleball court was designed and constructed, providing the clients, who are avid pickleball players, with a private space to enjoy their favorite sport.
These modifications have not only improved the functionality of the residence but also its aesthetic appeal and recreational value.

Electronic Lifestyle Associates (ela)Passing from the master bedroom to the attached bathroom, is a short hallway with closets on either side. To add interest, the ceiling was constructed in barrel shape, crown molding was engineered to house the indirect accent lighting and faux columns give the hallway additional weight and presentation. The in-wall equipment rack houses the surround sound receiver and the local Blu-Ray DVD player. All other video and streaming audio services are access from the main racks in the basement.
Lord & Lady Construction LLC
This is part of a whole home remodel we completed and featured in the Home Builder's Association Showcase of Remodeled Homes. This room is probably the biggest transformation in the whole home. What was previously an unused garage in the home, will now become a mudroom and entertainment area for the home.
We removed non-structural walls at the entry to the rest of the home to allow for more flow from the home into the room. The utility room previously was not actually large enough for the utilities, and there was a hole cut into the wall to allow the unit to fit. To resolve this issue the wall of the utility room was brought out into the space. Additionally, the plumbing and drainage for the water softner was not properly drained from the room and just went through small pvc pipes (that you can see in the photo) that went over the floor to a hole in the center of the room. The plumbing and drainage was completely rebuilt and re-plumbed through the ceilings to drain properly into the house lines.
The room also used to be a step down into the garage, so once the plumbing was adjusted a new slab was poured to bring it up to the same level.
Heating and electrical were brought into the room to make it a livable space. Can lighting was installed to bring in light without affecting the ceiling height. Team Player (color talented) carpet was installed that ties to the rest of the home.

Sun SpacesWhen this client contacted us they were looking to expand their living area and wanted an area where they could entertain the UW Husky football players from Hawaii which is where they were from. We removed 16' of their house wall, installed a recessed beam to make the room ceilings higher to create an area that incorporated well with their existing family room. Designed to fit a full size pool table and make sure that there was no sun reflection onto their big screen television we started with 6' of solid roof leading out to a cathedral all glass roof sunroom.

Electronic Lifestyle Associates (ela)These clients were in the second stage of renovating their stylish Tudor when we were approached to help formulate a final design plan for entertainment, technology integration and lighting design and control systems. Although the plan was to implement the final completion of these systems in stages, we needed to prepare the appropriate wiring to accomplish the end goals.
We provided a lighting design plan for the areas under construction and some simple control solutions from Lutron and Universal Remote Control. Once the Family room was completed we brought in the BDI Novia A/V Cabinet in Coco stained Cherry. This excellent piece of A/V furniture was just large enough to house the entertainment system along with the homes WiFi router.
The A/V system was built around a Denon AVR 3809Ci. Source components consisted of Comcast Cable HD DVR, Samsung Blu-Ray DVD player and an Apple TV. The Apple TV was the primarily used for playing the clients music and sharing their family pictures on the 50” Samsung LED TV. The Samsung Blu-Ray DVD player was designed with an internet application for Pandora Radio which is a great way to experience a wide variety of music by creating sets of personable radio stations.
Listing to the entertainment system is a real joy with the Totem Tribe in-wall speakers. These sealed cabinet in-wall speakers are some of the best in the world for a very reasonable price. The Velodyne MiniVee 10 was used as the subwoofer. Panamax surge protection was incorporated for everything including the TV.
The Universal Remote Control MX-980 was programmed to operate the primary entertainment system along with multiple audio zones for Kitchen, Dining, Patio, Master Bed & Bathroom through the Aton DLA6 zoned speaker selector and volume controller. Additional MX900 was used to support the master suite control within that area.
A Lutron Graphic eye was used in the Dining room to manage all of the lighting scenes while the Family room was controlled via the MX-980 remote and RF replacement wall dimmers. This was a great balance of budget and appropriate user interface options.
