Designed by Marc Jean-Michel of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Bethesda, MD in collaboration with Wisdom Construction, this Washington, DC kitchen remodel features Merillat Masterpiece kitchen cabinets in the Ganon door style in a Dove White finish with Calacatta Laza engineered quartz countertops from Q by MSI. The kitchen features unique storage in a smaller galley kitchen space by utilizing the toe kick area of the cabinets to create pull out drawer storage. Maximizing the functionality of this space, and coordinating the new kitchen with the beautiful remodel completed previously by the client were the two most important aspects of this project. The existing spaces are elegantly decorated with an open plan, dark hardwood floors, and natural stone accents. The new, lighter, more open kitchen flows beautifully into the client’s existing dining room space. Satin nickel hardware blends with the stainless steel appliances and matches the satin nickel details throughout the home. The fully integrated refrigerator next to the narrow pull-out pantry cabinet, take up less visual weight than a traditional stainless steel appliance and the two combine to provide fantastic storage. The glass cabinet doors and decorative lighting beautifully highlight the client’s glassware and dishes. Just off the Sculpture Deck is the Dining Deck, with warm ipe decking and sheet-steel planters, with uplighting placed between each planter. The raised planter plinth to the right is removable to provide for deck drain maintenance and cleaning. Beyond the deck is a steel-and-glass railing system, which wraps the entire deck.
