We met these clients through a referral from a previous client. We renovated several rooms in their traditional-style farmhouse in Abington. The kitchen is farmhouse chic, with white cabinetry, black granite counters, Carrara marble subway tile backsplash, and a beverage center. The large island, with its white quartz counter, is multi-functional, with seating for five at the counter and a bench on the end with more seating, a microwave door, a prep sink and a large area for prep work, and loads of storage. The kitchen includes a large sitting area with a corner fireplace and wall mounted television.
The multi-purpose mud room has custom built lockers for coats, shoes and bags, a built-in desk and shelving, and even space for kids to play! All three bathrooms use black and white in varied materials to create clean, classic spaces.

Outdoor furniture from Restoration Hardware really made this Houston outdoor living space design project shine.
“It really went well,” says Wayne Franks, owner of Outdoor Homescapes of Houston. “It's not a huge space, but moving the existing two columns about four feet and bringing the roof out only three feet made all the difference in the world.”
“This particular client wanted a larger space to entertain,” says senior designer Lisha Maxey, who served as an outdoor furniture consultant while managing construction for the project.
The original space, Lisha explains, had two oddly placed columns blocking a clear view of the beautiful pool area from inside the home. “We removed those columns and gave her three more feet of roof, which extended her living area while also giving her the view she wanted.”
Since the client - a woman in her mid-50s with grown children who visit frequently - only wanted a small outdoor kitchen island with a 30-inch RCS grill Outdoor Homescapes closed up a French door that led from the master bedroom (which she never used) and created a new stucco wall for the kitchen.
“I would definitely call the style of this space ‘transitional,” says Lisha. The client is a very eclectic world traveler and a collector of art, yet wanted her outdoor living space to feel like a warm, homey living room once we placed the furniture and décor. In the end, her finishes centered around rustic stone, detailed columns and furniture leaning towards the contemporary.”
Much of the warmth in the space, she says, comes from the colors of the dry-stacked Sunset Canyon ledgestone. “It looks just like it sounds – like the sun setting in a deep canyon!”
“The columns are unique – decorative and fluted,” adds Wayne.
The client, who’d received five free hours of outdoor furniture consultation as part of an ongoing promotion, also wanted Lisha to help her select, buy and help place furnishings.
“I believe that now - more than ever - consumers are looking for turn-key operations in any type of service industry - a ‘one-stop-shop,’ so to speak,” says Lisha. “It gives us a more personal touch with the client, as well as an edge in the industry in terms of selling our designs, as the client is reassured that we’ll work with them in every aspect to give them the outdoor living space of their dreams.”
The client ended up choosing the Biscayne collection – including a chair that rocks and swivels - from Restoration Hardware. They also went with a lower, unique teak coffee table from the Belvedere collection.
“We mixed wicker with teak for an equally soft and hard look and added pops of color to bring out the beautiful art collection inside,” says Lisha. “The neutral gray wicker, by the way, was the perfect match for the distressed teak coffee table and credenza. The grays of the Key West granite countertop also echoed this color palette.”
For the fabric, Lisha helped keep it neutral with a Mocha linen and popped the color with royal blue throw pillows matching the area rug: “To make the space truly her own, we added some unique copper pots from her collection and a few items she's collected abroad.”

This breathtaking kitchen remodel strikes the perfect balance between timeless traditional elegance and modern culinary functionality. The result is a bright, airy chef's kitchen that feels simultaneously grand and warmly livable — a space the whole family gravitates toward.
The design is anchored by crisp white inset-style cabinetry with polished nickel hardware that runs floor to ceiling, maximizing every inch of storage while creating a cohesive, custom built-in aesthetic. The standout feature is the two-tone treatment: upper perimeter cabinets in a clean bright white contrast beautifully against the large central island dressed in a sophisticated warm gray, adding depth and visual interest without disrupting the room's airy palette.
Countertops throughout are a show-stopping Calacatta-style quartz, featuring dramatic gray veining on a bright white ground — lending the look of natural marble with the durability of engineered stone. The oversized island provides abundant prep space, seating for four along a generous overhang, and a farmhouse-style undermount sink with a polished nickel bridge faucet.
The statement-making custom range hood commands the cooking wall, flanked by stacked glass-front upper cabinets that showcase colorful ceramics as living decor. Behind the professional-grade gas range, a layered backsplash tells a tile story: classic white subway tile anchors the field, while a striking marble herringbone mosaic creates a focal tile mural directly behind the hood — a detail that reads as pure artistry. A wall-mounted pot filler in polished nickel adds both practicality and old-world charm.
Three oversized geometric polished nickel pendant lanterns hang from the tray ceiling, drawing the eye up while flooding the space with ambient light. The kitchen flows seamlessly into a sun-drenched breakfast room wrapped in plantation shutters and blue-and-white toile valances, where a warm wood round dining table grounds the casual dining area.
A dedicated butler's pantry niche off the main kitchen provides an integrated wine cooler, glass-front display cabinetry, a herringbone marble backsplash, and a dedicated coffee station — a self-contained entertaining hub that keeps the main kitchen surfaces clear and serene.

Designed in a relaxed transitional/country style, this show-stopping kitchen is fit for a chef. A perimeter of off-white cabinetry with large storage drawers, upper cabinets with seeded glass and light quartz countertops brighten the space while framing an oversized Hickory island with a 2” butcherblock countertop. Brick was chosen for the backsplash to compliment the fireplace and give the space an informal feel.
To satisfy the love of cooking double ovens, 48” fridge/freezer, and 6 burner cooktop with vented exhaust hood and pot-filler were incorporated to complete this kitchen. Oversized bee-catcher pendants were placed over the large island, complete with a wine rack, hidden storage, and microwave drawer. An antiqued mirror installed in a diamond pattern defines the coffee nook.

Outdoor Kitchens that match the architecture of the home and the lifestyle of the family are deemed FABULOUS. This compact powerhouse of a kitchen is equipped with a TEC infrared Grill and big green egg to cook and prepare foods all day long for family and friends. Whether you are by the pool or sitting by the fire the first stop in is here with this Outdoor Kitchen featuring a TEC Grill and Big Green Egg.
Cooking with an infrared grill is an art. The more you understand about food and cooking on the grill you will appreciate grilling with an infrared grill. The glass interface on the grilling surface allows you to put pots and pans on the grilling surface. You can control the heat intensity too without flare ups.
The Big Green Egg anchoring the end of the grill island is an American staple to Outdoor grilling. I just love this Outdoor Kitchen layout having just enough cabinetry so that you can prep, cook, entertain and serve friends and family without having to double back inside into the personal indoor kitchen space.

This project was about much more than a new kitchen. We began by opening up the floor plan, removing the arched opening and shortening the walls that separated the kitchen from the adjoining living and great room.
We re-framed the kitchen window and installed a stunning picture window that extends all the way down to the countertop, creating an incredible focal point. We also installed new recessed LED lighting throughout the kitchen, living room, and great room.
The kitchen was redesigned with both beauty and functionality in mind. We eliminated the raised bar and extended the peninsula to provide additional seating, countertop workspace, and storage. Every cabinet was thoughtfully planned with custom organization, including spice pullout, deep drawers for pots and pans, and a baking sheet divider.
Beautiful ceiling-height cabinetry by Crown of SLC creates a timeless, custom look, while quartz countertops flow throughout the kitchen and into the new hallway beverage bar featuring a built-in wine refrigerator.
The finishing touches include new stainless steel appliances, a large double oven, and gas cook-top with a downdraft ventilation system.
But the transformation didn’t stop there!
✔️ Complete interior painting throughout the home.
✔️ New LVP flooring and updated baseboards.
✔️ Two new sliding glass doors.
✔️ Stucco repairs and fresh exterior paint across the entire back of the house.
✔️ New stone fireplace surround.
✔️ Custom master closet system

Project details:
Full kitchen renovation in Richmond Hill, ON. Floor-to-ceiling white shaker cabinetry wraps the whole space, including a full-height pantry cabinet built in beside the fridge — real storage instead of wasted wall space. Crown molding runs along the top of every upper cabinet for a finished, built-in look rather than cabinets that just stop at the ceiling.
Countertops are quartz throughout, including a waterfall-edge island and a matching marble-look slab backsplash behind the range. Hardware is mixed intentionally: long brass bar pulls on the uppers and pantry, brass knobs on the lower drawers — a small detail that keeps the all-white cabinetry from feeling flat. Layout includes a peninsula with sink overlooking the dining area, stainless steel appliances throughout, and recessed pot lights paired with a statement flush-mount fixture over the dining table.

This is my favourite corner of the She Shed. A fantastic country find....a 1940's farmhouse sink. I cleaned it up a bit but left the worn look, as it wasn't meant to be perfect. A dollarstore flat bucket stops anything from dropping through the open drain :) Obviously no plumbing in this little shed, but it's a lovely space for potting and keeping plants out of the direct sun. My fabric yardage was a bit small, so that's why one side is gathered and the other is flat. Again, no need for perfection in a shed. The window blinds are simple paper blinds, cut to fit and adhered to the top of the frame. Two small window blinds for $5.
