This stunning bathroom renovation in Selkirk is one of our favorites recently. Under the expert guidance of Project Manager, EJ Bonacker, and the creative vision of Designer, Sarah McDonald, our team transformed this dated bathroom into a luxurious spa-like retreat! We worked diligently to meet the client’s desire for a modern update while ensuring ample storage and a relaxing showering experience. By reimagining the layout, we optimized the available square footage, allowing for a generous shower footprint. With more space, we were able to plan a double sink with a center tower to stow away all the bathroom necessities. A soothing and soft color palette was carefully selected to create a calm and serene ambiance, promoting relaxation and tranquility. The custom ledge in the shower not only adds a touch of elegance, but serves a practical purpose as home for soaps, shampoos and other bathing necessities kept within easy reach. We are incredibly proud of this renovation and are looking forward to getting started on their other bathroom this fall. Let us help you create the perfect oasis in your home!

Enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of built-in units can be achieved by thoughtfully incorporating accessories.
Consider adding adjustable shelving to accommodate items of varying heights, maximizing storage potential. Incorporating built-in lighting can create a visually appealing ambiance and highlight displayed items.
Drawer organizers and dividers help maintain order, ensuring that every item has its designated place. Additionally, incorporating decorative hardware such as stylish handles or knobs can impart a personalized touch.
For entertainment units, cable management systems contribute to a clean and organized appearance. Whether it's baskets, bins, or pull-out trays, accessorizing built-in units not only elevates their practicality but also allows for a customized and well-organized space that aligns with both form and function.

Kitchen – Clean, Cohesive Design at the Heart of the Home | Toronto
This kitchen serves as the anchor of the main floor, designed to balance clean aesthetics with everyday functionality as part of the full-home transformation. The layout is open and intuitive, allowing the kitchen to connect seamlessly with surrounding living spaces while maintaining clearly defined work zones.
Custom cabinetry with a sleek slab-door profile reinforces a modern, minimalist look, while thoughtful spacing and alignment keep the room feeling calm and uncluttered. Material continuity throughout the kitchen helps the space feel integrated with the rest of the home rather than standing apart as a single renovation element.
Behind the simplicity is careful coordination between design, cabinetry, mechanical planning, and construction, ensuring that storage, appliances, and circulation all work together effortlessly. This kitchen reflects Cedarstone Group Inc.’s design-build approach: refined visuals supported by smart planning and precise execution, resulting in a space that is as practical as it is timeless.

"You only do this once in a lifetime.” That’s what this homeowner told our team about their historic brownstone renovation in downtown Jersey City, and we took it to heart.
This project was more than just a renovation; it was also an act of great creativity and care. After all, when you do something once in a lifetime, you want to do it right.
We were fortunate to work with a homeowner with a clear, precise vision. Prior to hiring us, the homeowner partnered with an architect to design the space. As such, we handled the project management and practical implementation of the plans. (We also ensured that the work met the requirements of the Jersey City Historic Preservation Board.)
This extensive remodel included demolition and rebuilding of a one-story addition in preparation for the installation of a new, modern kitchen. After replacing the original load-bearing brick wall with a steel header, we also leveled the floors and added new engineered hardwood flooring with hydronic radiant underfloor heating for chilly winter days.
A completely redone lighting and electrical plan included LED recessed light fixtures, recessed speakers, and motorized transom windows … perfect for letting in some fresh air to compliment the gorgeous natural light streaming in from the skylights.
The finished space juxtaposes sleek, ultramodern European appliances, finishes, cabinetry, and fixtures with original, historic woodwork. We completed a new, modern powder room installation and also installed historic door casings, baseboard mouldings, and plaster mouldings.
The homeowner was thrilled with the end result, celebrating every carefully-chosen detail. Together, we admired the different light fixtures, the custom kitchen cabinetry, and how the built-in hall closet left just enough space to preserve the historic mouldings beside it. Moments like those make all the hard work worthwhile.

If you have to do laundry… shouldn’t it be in a room that makes you happy?
This Midtown family agreed — and we gave their space the glow-up it deserved! We:
-Demo’d the old floors
-Modified cabinetry to create a more practical drop zone at the rear entry
-Added new quartz countertops and extended the quartz up to the cabinets
-Replaced the window-sill frame to work with the new layout
-Installed all-new tile and flooring
-Repainted walls + touched up cabinets
The result? A clean, organized, mood-boosting laundry room that finally works with their daily life, not against it. Who says chores can’t happen in a beautiful space?
Want a room you’ll love being in? Let our designer help you craft the perfect plan — and yes, her design services are complimentary.

Borrow West Park | Exposed Aggregate
At Borrow West Park, Florida Bomanite’s exposed aggregate concrete contributes a natural, durable finish that complements the park’s landscape and outdoor setting.
The exposed stone creates visual texture and subtle color variation while providing a practical surface for pedestrian areas. Its understated appearance works well alongside planting, gathering spaces, and other site elements without competing with the overall design.
For this project, exposed aggregate helps create a cohesive transition between the built environment and the surrounding landscape, giving Borrow West Park a refined finish suited to everyday public use.

Designed as a calm and quietly luxurious retreat, this principal bedroom combines soft neutral tones, layered textures and bespoke detailing to create a contemporary bedroom interior that feels both elegant and deeply restful. Completed by By Two Studio as part of the Refined Family Home project in London, the space reflects a refined approach to modern luxury interior design centred around comfort, functionality and timeless styling.
A bespoke upholstered feature headboard wall introduces subtle structure and depth, anchoring the bed while maintaining a light and sophisticated aesthetic. Integrated fitted joinery and a tailored dressing area provide practical bedroom storage solutions without disrupting the clean, uncluttered feel of the room. Carefully selected finishes, soft textiles and warm neutral colours bring balance and cohesion throughout, helping the space feel considered yet effortless for everyday family living.
A glazed partition connects the principal bedroom to the contemporary ensuite bathroom, allowing natural light to flow between the spaces while still preserving privacy. The ensuite continues the same quiet luxury design language, featuring a freestanding bath, walk-in shower and minimalist bathroom finishes that create a calm and refined atmosphere.
The result is a cohesive luxury bedroom and ensuite design that feels serene, functional and timeless, a modern retreat carefully tailored to support relaxed, elevated living.

Here are some practical tips for creating a beautiful, comfortable and thoughtful living room design.
The living room in the house is the place where, as the name suggests, receives guests. However, the owners themselves relax here, spending time in front of the TV or a book, with drinks, pleasant conversation and other activities. Therefore, the living room should be the most comfortable place in your home.
The place of the sofa in the design of the living room
The sofa does not need to be placed in a draft. This means that it should not be on an imaginary line from window to door - if you drew a floor plan, it will just be easy to trace.
1. The sofa in front of the TV, diagonally from the door, is a great location. As if inviting you to sit down :)
2. Sofa near the door. A good solution if you often have overnight guests.
3. Corner sofa in the living room. Best placed in the farthest corner from the door. This will make the room look more spacious.
Correct opening of the door in the living room. Inward or outward?
Open inward or outward? There is no clear rule here, because everything depends on the layout and on the furniture placed. The main thing is that the door leaf opens freely and does not interfere with entering and exiting the room. Also, the door should not interfere with free access to the closet or dressing room.
TV in living room size and location. Location.
The TV is placed on the wall opposite to the sofa - this is the most logical and reasonable place for it in the living room. Moreover, the distance to it does not really matter: modern TV models can be placed close to the sofa.
Cabinet or bracket? To your taste. The main thing is that the television zone looks neat and presentable. Provide in advance a cable channel in which all the wires and numerous sockets for the receiver, modem, set-top box, sound bar will hide. Nothing spoils a design like sticking wires!
Height from the floor. It is optimal to place the TV 1 m from the floor to the middle of the screen - this is exactly the level of the eyes of a seated person.
Diagonal size. If there is a financial opportunity, consider options from 50 inches - smaller screens look lonely and lonely on an empty wall.
Living room furniture.
Armchair. Often the chair becomes an accent item in the interior, then its shade, and sometimes its shape, differ from the rest of the furniture. When choosing a chair, be guided also by your habits: for example, it will be more convenient to climb up with your feet and read a book in an armchair with dimensions of 90x90 cm, and you can “just sit comfortably” in a fireplace chair with a high back, comfortable armrests and with a seat 80x80 cm.
TV stand. Large TV stands are no longer as relevant as they used to be, when it was necessary to store a player, cassettes and discs there. For now, a console table or a narrow elegant pedestal is enough.
Coffee table. Nice piece of furniture that creates a cozy atmosphere. Some models, if necessary, can be transformed into a more spacious table for receiving guests - however, finding comfortable and beautiful specimens is not easy, plus they usually cost a lot.
Rack. An extremely useful type of furniture. :) Firstly, a large number of decor items can be beautifully placed on the rack. And secondly, it can also play the role of a light through partition, which divides the room into zones and does not select light at the same time. This is a very big plus for small apartments.
Fireplace. Here we are talking about electric fireplaces. Some of them come with a humidifier and heated, so 3-in-1 models can be very helpful. Fireplace portals have different styles: classic, antique, modern. Inconsistency with the general style of the living room can greatly spoil the impression of the room, so be careful with creativity. Sizing is an important issue. A large wall with a high ceiling also needs a proportionate fireplace; in horror, a small portal will look lonely and ridiculous.

For this project, the goals were straight forward - a low energy, low maintenance home that would allow the "60 something couple” time and money to enjoy all their interests. Accessibility was also important since this is likely their last home. In the end the style is minimalist, but the raw, natural materials add texture that give the home a warm, inviting feeling.
The home has R-67.5 walls, R-90 in the attic, is extremely air tight (0.4 ACH) and is oriented to work with the sun throughout the year. As a result, operating costs of the home are minimal. The HVAC systems were chosen to work efficiently, but not to be complicated. They were designed to perform to the highest standards, but be simple enough for the owners to understand and manage.
The owners spend a lot of time camping and traveling and wanted the home to capture the same feeling of freedom that the outdoors offers. The spaces are practical, easy to keep clean and designed to create a free flowing space that opens up to nature beyond the large triple glazed Passive House windows. Built-in cubbies and shelving help keep everything organized and there is no wasted space in the house - Enough space for yoga, visiting family, relaxing, sculling boats and two home offices.
The most frequent comment of visitors is how relaxed they feel. This is a result of the unique connection to nature, the abundance of natural materials, great air quality, and the play of light throughout the house.
The exterior of the house is simple, but a striking reflection of the local farming environment. The materials are low maintenance, as is the landscaping. The siting of the home combined with the natural landscaping gives privacy and encourages the residents to feel close to local flora and fauna.

The client wanted to remodel their bathroom to make better use of the space. They wanted a larger shower and for the overall layout to be practical and aesthetically pleasing. To achieve this we covered up a window to allow for a large tile shower and added a new pocket door to the water closet. The new design includes an open tile shower featuring beautiful tile with a built-in niche and bench and a Delta brushed nickel handheld shower in addition to the main shower faucet. There is a large Bertch Bath double sink vanity with Cambria Quartz countertop. It also features Mohawk LVP flooring in a wood look which helps to warm up the space and makes for a nice foundation for the other painted surfaces. We love the end result!

When our client approached us with a budget of $1,000 and a two-month timeline, she was looking to revive her outdated walk-in closet. The old setup was literally falling apart and so cramped that it hardly lived up to the name "walk-in." Our mission was to breathe new life into this space, transforming it into a functional and inviting retreat.
We kicked off the transformation by applying fresh paint and crafting custom storage solutions that precisely matched our client's needs. She had been struggling with locating her shoes, hidden away in old shoe boxes, and her handbags scattered throughout. Our solution was a wallet-friendly, adaptable shoe storage system that keeps everything in sight and easily accessible, evolving right along with her collection.
One of our client's priorities was ensuring comfort for her adorable, cuddly dogs who love spending time in the closet. We chose a washable rug that not only complements the decor but also withstands the occasional mess, maintaining a cozy vibe.
Adding a personal touch, we showcased her cherished wedding shoes and incorporated vintage knobs from her daughter's nursery into the design, making the closet feel uniquely hers.
To streamline her daily routine, we introduced a practical, stylish hamper on wheels, enabling easy transport of laundry from the closet to the laundry room.
The decluttering process was initially overwhelming for our client. With patience and a fresh perspective, we helped her let go of five bags of high-quality clothes and shoes. This not only cleared up physical space but also made room for new beginnings and experiences in her life.
This project was much more than a simple renovation; it was about creating a space that reflects and supports our client's lifestyle, complete with thoughtful touches that make it truly special.

Historic converted barn w/chestnut beams & floors, vaulted ceiling LR w/field stone fireplace, and exceptional charm! Quiet and cozy space located off this grand room includes a den + guest room with its own bath. The grand staircase takes you to 4 BRs and 4 full baths. Once upon a time, this bathroom featured the following:
No entry door, with a master tub and vanities open to the master bedroom.
Fading, outdated, 80's-style yellow oak cabinetry.
A bulky hexagonal window with clear glass. No privacy.
A carpeted floor. In a bathroom.
It’s safe to say that none of these features were appreciated by our clients. Understandably.
We knew we could help.
We changed the layout. The tub and the double shower are now enclosed behind frameless glass, a very practical and beautiful arrangement. The clean linear grain cabinetry in medium tone is accented beautifully by white countertops and stainless steel accessories. New lights, beautiful tile and glass mosaic bring this space into the 21st century.
End result: a calm, light, modern bathroom for our client to enjoy.

Mudrooms are practical entryway spaces that serve as a buffer between the outdoors and the main living areas of a home. Typically located near the front or back door, mudrooms are designed to keep the mess of the outside world at bay.
These spaces often feature built-in storage for coats, shoes, and accessories, helping to maintain a tidy and organized home. Durable flooring materials, such as tile or easy-to-clean surfaces, are common in mudrooms to withstand dirt and moisture.
Additionally, mudrooms may include benches or cubbies for convenient seating and storage of bags or backpacks. With hooks for hanging outerwear and perhaps a small sink for quick cleanups, mudrooms efficiently balance functionality with the demands of an active household, providing an essential transitional space in the home.

This finished basement hallway uses warm wood-look flooring, soft gray walls, white doors, and simple trim to create a clean, cohesive lower-level transition. Recessed lighting brightens the narrow space, while the neutral palette keeps the design calm and timeless. It is a practical update that helps the entire basement feel polished and complete.
