Lovely pair of grain feed sack pillows from Europe. We custom-made these out of the original antique feed sacks, with zipper closure and overlocked edges. The fronts are a soft pale oatmeal color with pale Swedish blue stripes and original monograming. The backs are of antique French linen, a heavy weight, very soft and also an oatmeal color. All items have been pre washed, clean and ready to use. I have been working as a kitchen and bath designer in the Pacific Northwest for 13 years. I love engaging with new clients, ascertaining their needs through various interviews and meetings and then collaborating as we build their finished concept together. The variety of design styles, room layouts and function changes so much between one person and the next that no two finished products are remotely the same. This fluidity allows for endless possibilities for exploration in my field. It keeps the job interesting and has always given me a particular sense of reward and accomplishment as we near completion. The greatest personal recompense in this chosen profession is being able to walk with a client through this process and come out the other side with that client feeling elated with the end result.

We interviewed Chad(left) and Bobby(right), the team of Everett installers who worked on this job!
Bobby, What got you into this profession?
My father did a LOT of carpentry and home improvement projects. I've been building things since 16 years old and started in the concrete business, and eventually found my way to Renewal!
Chad, what was your favorite tool?
Cutback tool. It's the only custom tool we use.
Chad, what was unique about this job?
Definitely the homeowner, we listened to a ton of 80s country music! She loved her dogs and when we told her we had a selfie competition, she had the idea to
dress up her dogs so we could take a photo with them in front of the patio door we installed.

This Mill Valley project features a groundbreaking prefabricated bamboo panel structural wall system that eliminates traditional wood framing. The clients sought a design that complemented not only their environmental ethic but also their need for a healthy home. 361 Architecture assembled a collaborative team that worked together to develop a solution that met the clients’ needs. The result is a highly sustainable, super energy efficient and healthy home with net zero energy goals. The project concept focused on wrapping the buildings and gardens around the central patio and pool, with views from each room. At the north end of the patio sits a detached studio comprised of two parts: an artist studio and a writing studio, supporting the respective professions of the clients.

A handsome office is dressed in masculine features, many of which display the owner’s profession and interests. The room boasts a desk wrapped in Nero Marquina stone with custom wrapped
brass legs, a built-in bookcase with shelving that
features brass inlays, and a handcrafted brass ladder built to enhance the floating shelving and design of the bookcase. Ivory leather wallpaper graces the walls while a woven wood wallpaper
in a geometric pattern canvases the ceiling for contrast and
visual interest. Butler also placed a major focus on lighting, with
backlit shelves that spotlight the doctor’s numerous books.
