Our Denver studio renovated this home for clients who love to play with bold colors, prints, and patterns. We used a black-and-white island with white cabinetry, a sleek black hood, and gold metal pendants to create a modern, elegant vibe in the kitchen. The living area provides loads of comfort with a massive neutral-hued sectional and single sofas, while an accent fireplace and TV unit complete the look. The dining room flaunts a striking green accent wall, printed window treatments, and a black modern-traditional chandelier. The bedroom and bathrooms are a luxurious indulgence with natural, neutral hues and practical yet elegant furniture. We introduce to you one of our newer services we are providing here at Kitchen Design Concepts: spaces that just need a little reviving! As of recent, we are taking on projects that are in need of minimal updating, as in, spaces that don’t need a full-on remodel. Yes, you heard right! If your space has good bones, you like the layout of your kitchen, and you just need a few cosmetic changes, then today’s feature is for you! Recently, we updated a space where we did just this! The kitchen was in need of a little love, some fresh paint, and new finishes. And if we’re being honest here, the result looks almost as if the kitchen had a full-on remodel! To learn more about this space and how we did our magic, continue reading below: The Before and After First, see what an impact new finishes can make! The “before” image shows a kitchen with outdated finishes such as the tile countertops, backsplash, and cabinetry finish. The “after” image, is a kitchen that looks almost as if its brand new, the image speaks for itself! Cabinetry With the wooden cabinetry in this kitchen already having great bones, all we needed to do was our refinishing process that involved removing door and drawer fronts, sanding, priming, and painting. The main color of the cabinetry is white (Sherwin Williams Pure White 7005) and as an accent, we applied a deep navy blue that really pops in this space (Sherwin Willaims Naval 6244). As a special design element, we incorporated a natural wooden band across the hood which is subtle but adds an element of surprise. Countertops The original countertops in this space were a 12×12 tile with cracks and discolored grout from all the wear and tear. To replace the countertops, we installed a clean and crisp quartz that is not only durable but easy to maintain (no grout here!). The 3cm countertops are a Cambria quartz in a grey-tone color (Carrick). Backsplash Keeping things simple, yet classic, we installed a 3×6 subway tile from Interceramic. The crisp white pairs well with all the other finishes of the space and really brighten the space up! To spice things up, we paired the white tile with a contrasting grout color (Cape Grey) that matches the countertop. This is a simple method to add interest to your white backsplash! Fixtures and Fittings For the fixtures and fittings of the kitchen, we wanted pieces that made a statement. That’s why we selected this industrial style faucet from Brizo! The faucet is a Brizo LITZE™ PULL-DOWN FAUCET WITH ARC SPOUT AND INDUSTRIAL HANDLE (63044LF-BLGL). The matte black paired with the luxe gold elements really make a statement! To match the gold elements of the faucet, we installed cabinetry hardware from Topknobs in the same gold finish. The hardware is a Channing pull TK743HB. Lastly, the large single bowl sink (who doesn’t want a large sink?!) is a great functional touch to the kitchen. The sink is a Blanco Precision 16″ R10 super single with 16″ Drainer in stainless steel (516216).

A luxurious home office with an elegant and classic look was custom made to fit this homeowner's needs. With a color scheme of brown and green, the large, classic desk and light brown hardwood floors provide contrast to the luxurious mahogany built-in shelves and ceiling. To add in some color, we used a green leather office chair, green window treatments, and a colorful throw pillow. And finally, for an extremely polished look, we added a leather armchair, leather sofa, recessed lighting, and an entertainment center. This Wyoming home feature's Montana Timber Products prefinished ranchwood™ Eastern square edge lap wood siding and ranchwood™ Yellowstone reverse board and batten siding. - As the sun moves across the horizon, light beautifully contrasts with the vertical installation of ranchwood Yellowstone with the lower installation of ranchwood™ Eastern, blending seamlessly into the gorgeous Wyoming landscape. - Montana Timber Products' flagship product, ranchwood™, is a reclaimed barnwood alternative milled from new, kiln dried, chemical free, rough stock wood. Put through a colorizing and texturizing process, ranchwood™ is an aesthetically pleasing authentic reclaimed barn wood, rustic wood siding. ranchwood™ offers uncompromising rustic wood beauty typically less expensive than antique reclaimed barnwood. - Contrasting square edge lap profile with the reverse board batten profile extenuates the rich color of ranchwood™ Eastern, providing depth to the the siding with a 3-dimensional exposure. - Montana Timber Products is a custom millwork shop as shown with this application of a vertically installed shiplap milled with a 1/4" reveal. This reveal creates nice shadow lines and a multi-dimensional aesthetic to the finish of this siding. Wire Brushed and Circle Sawn are Montana Timber Products typical texturizing options. Circle Sawn texture seen on Montana Timber Products natural wood siding is created by large circular saw blades used in more traditional milling practices. Added physical and aesthetic depth to the wood grain is available as the Wire Brushed option. Greater surface area is added during the texturizing process, allowing Seal-Once, 100% NO VOC waterfproofer to more effectively penetrate the wood. Seal-Once is guaranteed for ten years from water ingress and is safe for exterior and interior use, pets and children. - The Yellowstone color is the lighter color, vertically installed on the top levels. Yellowstone’s lighter tones of gray — representing weathering through long windswept days — are perhaps one of the most treasured colors utilized from the feel of the old barn pallet. - Montana Timber Products does not use degenerative chemicals like some companies do to achieve texture and color. Environmentally responsible, Montana Timber Products produces wood siding, interior accents, flooring, reclaimed wood, beams, barn wood alternatives with environmentally friendly manufacturing techniques.

Independent Home just recently completed a Florida walk in tub installation in the city of Pensacola for our customer Claire S. Learn about the process and why it may be a good idea to add one to your home! Our installation process starts with a pre-installation meeting with the customer to go over what type of walk in tub is best for their needs, what the best location would be, and what type of the finish the customer wants. At the meeting with Claire, she told us that she wanted a tub that could prove a safe bathing experience but also help with her arthritis and leg pain. Our installation experts decided that the celebrity walk in tub was the best option for Claire. The celebrity walk in tub was the best option for Claire’s Florida home because of the safety features it is able to provide. Claire’s previous bathtub had a 15 inch edge, which made her nervous of getting in and out. Her old tub also had a non-secure seat giving Claire the fear that she may fall. The celebrity walk in tub has a low threshold eliminating the high edge. It also has a 17” ADA compliant seat, giving Claire that extra security that she needed. As stated before Claire suffers from arthritis and leg pain and she wanted her new tub to help with the pain. The celebrity walk in tub was a great choice because you are able to add hydrotherapy features. Hydrotherapy is the use of water to help decrease physical discomfort. It works by the jets greater range of motion. The jets waves allow an increase in circulation causing the joint inflammation to decrease, which will help eliminate Claire’s pain. Installing Claire’s walk in tub took just a couple of days to complete. The process included removing Claire’s old tub including the foundation, putting in the proper plumbing, connecting the water, making sure there weren’t any leaks, and finally building the shelf area around the tub. Claire is extremely happy with her new walk in tub. Her worries of falling are behind her. She enjoys that when she is in a hurry and can’t enjoy a full soak there is an extendable shower wand. Overall, every time Claire gets a bath she feels like she is at her own private spa.

Embracing the challenge of grounding this open, light-filled space, our Boulder studio focused on comfort, ease, and high design. The built-in lounge is flanked by storage cabinets for puzzles and games for this client who loves having people over. The high-back Living Divani sofa is paired with U-Turn Benson chairs and a "Rabari" rug from Nanimarquina for casual gatherings. The throw pillows are a perfect mix of Norwegian tapestry fabric and contemporary patterns. In the child's bedroom, we added an organically shaped Vitra Living Tower, which also provides a cozy reading niche. Bold Marimekko fabric colorfully complements more traditional detailing and creates a contrast between old and new. We loved collaborating with our client on an eclectic bedroom, where everything is collected and combined in a way that allows distinctive pieces to work together. A custom walnut bed supports the owner's tatami mattress. Vintage rugs ground the space and pair well with a vintage Scandinavian chair and dresser. Combining unexpected objects is one of our favorite ways to add liveliness and personality to a space. In the little guest bedroom, our client (a creative and passionate collector) was the inspiration behind an energetic and eclectic mix. Similarly, turning one of our client's favorite old sweaters into pillow covers and popping a Native American rug on the wall helped pull the space together. Slightly eclectic and invitingly cozy, the twin guestroom beckons for settling in to read, nap or daydream.
