How Can I Reduce the Cost of Remodeling a Bathroom? Allreno Design AI
Renovating a bathroom is an exciting but often expensive project. Homeowners frequently worry about how to balance quality with affordability. Fortunately, there are smart strategies to cut costs without sacrificing style. Whether you're updating a bathroom vanity, retiling the floor, or overhauling the entire space, making informed decisions can help you save thousands.
At Allreno, we understand that affordability and quality go hand in hand. That’s why we developed the Allreno Design App, a cutting-edge tool that simplifies the bath renovation process and helps homeowners make cost-effective choices. Here’s how you can reduce expenses on your next bathroom remodel:
1. Plan Ahead with a Budget
One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make is starting a renovation without a clear budget. Before you begin, list all the necessary expenses, including labor, materials, and unexpected costs. Using tools like the Allreno Design App, you can visualize your remodel and get instant cost estimates based on your selections.
2. Choose a Cost-Effective Bathroom Vanity
A bathroom vanity is often the focal point of a bathroom remodel. Instead of opting for a custom-built unit, consider ready-to-assemble or pre-designed vanities. Allreno partners with top manufacturers to offer stylish, high-quality vanities at competitive prices, helping you save money without compromising on design.
3. Keep the Plumbing Where It Is
Relocating plumbing fixtures—such as sinks, toilets, and showers—can significantly increase labor costs. Keeping your layout intact can save you thousands in contractor fees. The Allreno Design App allows you to experiment with different configurations while ensuring you stay within your budget.
4. Refinish Instead of Replacing
Instead of replacing your bathtub, tiles, or countertops, consider refinishing them. Reglazing a tub, repainting cabinets, or updating hardware can make a huge difference at a fraction of the cost. Small changes can have a big impact without the need for a full replacement.
5. Shop Smart for Materials
Purchasing materials strategically can lead to big savings. Look for clearance items, buy in bulk, and compare prices across different suppliers. Allreno simplifies this by connecting you with trusted vendors and providing access to exclusive discounts on bath renovation materials.
6. Do Some of the Work Yourself
While some tasks require professionals, there are many things you can do on your own, such as painting, installing new hardware, or even assembling a pre-made bathroom vanity. If you're comfortable with DIY projects, this can significantly reduce labor costs.
7. Use Technology to Your Advantage
The Allreno Design App is a game-changer in the renovation industry. It helps homeowners design their ideal bathroom, estimate costs, and even connect with local professionals. By using AI-driven recommendations, the app ensures you get the best value without unnecessary expenses.
Conclusion
Bathroom remodeling doesn’t have to break the bank. By planning ahead, making smart material choices, and leveraging technology like the Allreno Design App, you can achieve a beautiful, budget-friendly bathroom. Whether you're upgrading a bathroom vanity or tackling a full bath renovation, these strategies will help you save money while creating a space you love.

When the DIY Homeowners decided to begin a complete kitchen makeover, they would tackle some of it themselves, and hire professionals to do the rest. These are the original cabinets - consisting of three slightly different makes and models of similar cabinets including the original cabinets and those purchased during 2 previous makeovers. With slight variations in the colors and finishes, the decision was made to paint the cabinets to unify the look and brighten up a dated, though functional, kitchen. New Countertops, backsplash and sink were also included in the makeover.

Modern Citi Group worked with Robyn on remodeling her newly purchased professional space in Murray Hill. This exciting renovation project included a full remodel of two bathrooms, kitchen, and three offices as well as the main waiting area. The primary objective was to modernize the space for professional aesthetics and functionality while adhering to the strict timeline and budget.
Every renovation project starts with the planning phase led by the project planners. During the in-person visit, Anna captured a 360 tour of the space to get accurate measurements and fast-track the project as well as align with the client on their design vision, remodeling priorities and budget.
The design challenge was to deliver modern aesthetics and functionality for a professional office while keeping the project within budget. The designers worked on several layouts and design visualizations so the client had options. Finally, the choice was made and Robyn felt confident in her decision.
The construction team transformed every corner of the space, breathing new life into it. They replaced the floors, refinished the walls and ceilings, installed new doors and windows, upgraded plumbing and electrical systems, and redesigned the office layout for optimal functionality and flow. Updated closet configuration with custom shelving, light fixtures and sliding barn doors enhanced the ergonomics of the work space.
The newly remodeled kitchen featured sleek matte white cabinetry and stunning quartz countertops, enhancing both functionality and storage. The bathrooms were masterfully renovated with exquisite new tiling, stylish fixtures, and upgraded plumbing and lighting.
In just a few weeks, Modern Citi Group has redefined the old apartment, transforming it into a sophisticated and professional space through this meticulous remodel. The result is a stunning blend of style, comfort, and efficiency. This remodel enhanced both employee satisfaction and new business for Robyn.

This project was such an incredible design opportunity, and instilled inspiration and excitement at every turn! Our amazing clients came to us with the challenge of converting their beloved family home into a welcoming haven for all members of the family. At the time that we met our clients, they were struggling with the difficult personal decision of the fate of the home. Their father/father-in-law had passed away and their mother/mother-in-law had recently been admitted into a nursing facility and was fighting Alzheimer’s. Resistant to loss of the home now that both parents were out of it, our clients purchased the home to keep in in the family. Despite their permanent home currently being in New Jersey, these clients dedicated themselves to keeping and revitalizing the house. We were moved by the story and became immediately passionate about bringing this dream to life.
The home was built by the parents of our clients and was only ever owned by them, making this a truly special space to the family. Our goal was to revitalize the home and to bring new energy into every room without losing the special characteristics that were original to the home when it was built. In this way, we were able to develop a house that maintains its own unique personality while offering a space of welcoming neutrality for all members of the family to enjoy over time.
The renovation touched every part of the home: the exterior, foyer, kitchen, living room, sun room, garage, six bedrooms, three bathrooms, the laundry room, and everything in between. The focus was to develop a style that carried consistently from space to space, but allowed for unique expression in the small details in every room.
Starting at the entry, we renovated the front door and entry point to offer more presence and to bring more of the mid-century vibe to the home’s exterior. We integrated a new modern front door, cedar shingle accents, new exterior paint, and gorgeous contemporary house numbers that really allow the home to stand out. Just inside the entry, we renovated the foyer to create a playful entry point worthy of attention. Cement look tile adorns the foyer floor, and we’ve added new lighting and upgraded the entry coat storage.
Upon entering the home, one will immediately be captivated by the stunning kitchen just off the entry. We transformed this space in just about every way. While the footprint of the home ultimately remained almost identical, the aesthetics were completely turned on their head. We re-worked the kitchen to maximize storage and to create an informal dining area that is great for casual hosting or morning coffee.
We removed the entry to the garage that was once in the informal dining, and created a peninsula in its place that offers a unique division between the kitchen/informal dining and the formal dining and living areas. The simple light warm light gray cabinetry offers a bit of traditional elegance, along with the marble backsplash and quartz countertops. We extended the original wood flooring into the kitchen and stained all floors to match for a warmth that truly resonates through all spaces. We upgraded appliances, added lighting everywhere, and finished the space with some gorgeous mid century furniture pieces.
In the formal dining and living room, we really focused on maintaining the original marble fireplace as a focal point. We cleaned the marble, repaired the mortar, and refinished the original fireplace screen to give a new sleek look in black. We then integrated a new gas insert for modern heating and painted the upper portion in a rich navy blue; an accent that is carried through the home consistently as a nod to our client’s love of the color.
The former entry into the old covered porch is now an elegant glass door leading to a stunning finished sunroom. This room was completely upgraded as well. We wrapped the entire space in cozy white shiplap to keep a casual feel with brightness. We tiled the floor with large format concrete look tile, and painted the old brick fireplace a bright white. We installed a new gas burning unit, and integrated transitional style lighting to bring warmth and elegance into the space. The new black-frame windows are adorned with decorative shades that feature hand-sketched bird prints, and we’ve created a dedicated garden-ware “nook” for our client who loves to work in the yard. The far end of this space is completed with two oversized chaise loungers and overhead lights…the most perfect little reading nook!
Just off the dining room, we created an entirely new space to the home: a mudroom. The clients lacked this space and desperately needed a landing spot upon entering the home from the garage. We uniquely planned existing space in the garage to utilize for this purpose, and were able to create a small but functional entry point without losing the ability to park cars in the garage. This new space features cement-look tile, gorgeous deep brown cabinetry, and plenty of storage for all the small items one might need to store while moving in and out of the home.
The remainder of the upstairs level includes massive renovations to the guest hall bathroom and guest bedroom, upstairs master bed/bath suite, and a third bedroom that we converted into a home office for the client.
Some of the largest transformations were made in the basement, where unfinished space and lack of light were converted into gloriously lit, cozy, finished spaces. Our first task was to convert the massive basement living room into the new master bedroom for our clients. We removed existing built-ins, created an entirely new walk-in closet, painted the old brick fireplace, installed a new gas unit, added carpet, introduced new lighting, replaced windows, and upgraded every part of the aesthetic appearance. One of the most incredible features of this space is the custom double sliding barn door made by a Denver artisan. This space is truly a retreat for our clients!
We also completely transformed the laundry room, back storage room, basement master bathroom, and two bedrooms.
This home’s massive scope and ever-evolving challenges were thrilling and exciting to work with, and the result is absolutely amazing. At the end of the day, this home offers a look and feel that the clients love. Above all, though, the clients feel the spirit of their family home and have a welcoming environment for all members of the family to enjoy for years to come!

Above all, though, the clients feel the spirit of their family home and have a welcoming environment for all members of the family to enjoy for years to come.

WKD’s design brought to life this couple’s desire to be surrounded by quality and comfort in their new retirement home at ocean’s edge. Fulfilling a dream to live on the ocean led to a larger house for our clients, and our mission was to reuse existing furnishings where they best fit, and augment with new selections as well as purchases of antiques and lighting fixtures.
Decisions were made in 6 weeks, before the couple left for the winter season in Florida. When they returned, installation had been managed and completed by our firm, and their new home was turn key and ready. Their home is now so welcoming that it is a magnet for family, grandchildren, and friends all summer long.

Five stars isn’t enough! Our project was to reconfigure and update the main floor of a house we recently purchased that was built in 1961. We wanted to maintain some of the unique feeling it originally had but bring it up-to-date and eliminate the closed-in rooms and downright weird layout that was the result of multiple, partial remodeling projects. We began with a long wishlist of changes which also required replacement of very antiquated plumbing, electrical wiring and HVAC. We even found a fireplace that had been walled in and needed major re-construction. Many other aspects and details on this incredible list we made included an all new kitchen layout, converting a bedroom into a master closet, adding new half-bath, completely rebuilding the master bath, and adding stone, tile and custom built cabinetry. Our design plans included many fixtures and details that we specified and required professional installation and careful handling. Innovative helped us make reasonable decisions. Their skilled staff took us through a design process that made sense. There were many questions and all were answered with sincere conversation and positive – innovation – on how we could achieve our goals. Innovative provided us with professional consultants, who listened and were courteous and creative, with solid knowledge and informative judgement. When they didn’t have an answer, they did the research. They developed a comprehensive project plan that exceeded our expectations. Every item on our long list was checked-off. All agreed on work was fulfilled and they completed all this in just under four months. Innovative took care of putting together a team of skilled professional specialists who were all dedicated to make everything right. Engineering, construction, supervision, and I cannot even begin to describe how much thanks we have for the demolition crew! Our multiple, detailed project designs from Raul and professional design advice from Mindy and the connections she recommended are all of the best quality. Diego Jr., Trevor and his team kept everything on track and neat and tidy every single day and Diego Sr., Mark, Ismael, Albert, Santiago and team are true craftsmen who follow-up and make the most minuscule woodworking details perfect. The cabinets by Tim and electrical work and installation of fixtures by Kemchan Harrilal-BB and Navindra Doolratram, and Augustine and his crew on tile and stone work – all perfection. Aisling and the office crew were always responsive to our calls and requests. And of course Clark and Eric who oversaw everything and gave us the best of the best! Apologies if we didn’t get everyone on this list – you’re all great! Thank you for your hard work and dedication. We can’t thank you enough Innovative Construction – we kind of want to do it again!

When the family first reached out to Armada Design & Build, they were excited but apprehensive. They had just purchased a sprawling 2-acre lot in the peaceful enclave of Packwood, WA, envisioning their forever home. The lot, though rich with potential, was a blank canvas—a space once occupied by a dilapidated structure, now waiting to be transformed into a custom-built sanctuary. Turning this vacant lot into a warm, inviting home seemed daunting to them, but to us, it was an opportunity to create something truly special.
As a one-stop design and build firm, we knew this project was about more than construction—it was about understanding their dreams and translating them into a home blending contemporary charm with rustic elegance. Our journey began with in-depth discussions to explore their lifestyle, preferences, and vision. They wanted a modern, comfortable, and functional home full of character. With these insights, we began sketching a design that would rise from the blank slate.
The process started with site evaluations and architectural planning, considering the natural landscape, privacy needs, and creating a connection with the surroundings. They had many ideas but needed guidance to bring them to life. Our expertise helped them navigate every decision, from layout to details, ensuring each choice aligned with their vision.
The kitchen, the heart of the home, was designed for both style and functionality. Custom flat-panel glossy white cabinets provided ample storage with pull-out shelves for easy organization. MSI Quartz countertops became a striking focal point, while the Kraus Single Basin Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink and Hansgrohe Talis S² Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet added both style and practicality. Complementary Benjamin Moore paint harmonized the space with the stainless steel appliances. Elegant lighting fixtures, including a West Elm Mobile Chandelier and an Everly Quinn 8-Light Crystal Sputnik Sphere Chandelier, brought a sophisticated flair, perfect for daily living and entertaining.
Before breaking ground, we meticulously planned every aspect, ensuring the materials and brands would meet aesthetic desires and withstand the test of time. Top-of-the-line appliances, such as a KitchenAid gas range and fully integrated dishwasher, ensured the kitchen was both beautiful and functional. Every detail extended to the rest of the home. The laundry room combined practicality with style, featuring Architectural Surfaces tiles, Bravada Hardwood flooring, and sleek KES hardware.
In the master bathroom, we created a serene retreat with Green Needle Laminated panels, Kohler fixtures, and United Tile Fez by WOW tiles, transforming it into a luxurious sanctuary. Consistent Bravada Hardwood flooring throughout the home added cohesiveness, while thoughtful touches like NearMoon fixtures enhanced the spa-like ambiance.
The exterior was equally well-planned. Benjamin Moore paint highlighted architectural features, and custom doors and Milgard Windows welcomed natural light while connecting the indoors to the surrounding beauty. Outdoor spaces were designed as extensions of the home, featuring a hot tub, BBQ area, and EV charging station.
Throughout the process, we worked hand-in-hand with the family, ensuring every detail aligned with their vision. The result was a stunning custom home that exceeded expectations—a testament to quality, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction. What began as a blank canvas became a beautiful, warm home they can proudly call their own.

The center hall (upstairs and down) in this gorgeous home came with English wallpaper that the homeowner's loved. All of the decisions regarding the design of rooms that surrounded it were made with it in mind. The seating, cabinet, and rug were purchased at Arhaus. The bespoke table was designed by Laurie with the sofa legs as inspiration. It was made by 60Nobscot.

The second home of a California-based family was intended to use as an East-coast gathering place for their extended family. It was important to deliver elegant, indoor-outdoor living. The kitchen was designed to be the center of this newly renovated home, with a good flow for entertaining and celebrations. The homeowner wanted the cooktop to be in the island facing outward to see everyone. The seating area at the island has a thick, walnut wood countertop that delineates it from the rest of the island's workspace. Both the countertops and backsplash feature a Polished Naica Quartzite for a cohesive effect, while white custom cabinetry and satin brass hardware add subtle hints of glamour. The decision was made to panel the SubZero appliances for a seamless look, while intelligent space planning relocated the door to the butler's pantry/mudroom, where the wine unit and additional sink/dishwasher for large-scale entertaining needs were housed out of sight.
