The design concept came from puzzle mix with new and old. This family has a great mind that they re-use many existing furniture. Base on the new concept, we renovated their furniture into the new one. So felt like a puzzle, piece by piece stick together to become one. The kids love to dance and drawing very much so that we mix with the pastel color to make the place more childhood. The hanging cabinet is a whiteboard which can let the kid can draw anytime. A challenging part is a tiny bathroom need to put the shower area and the bathtub. Luckily we found a small one can fit this idea. An extra need is for the cat have his own bed and walkway.

The homeowners wanted a simple, clean, modern bathroom. Sounds straightforward enough. But with a tight budget, a funky layout and a requirement not to move any plumbing, it was more of a puzzle than expected. Good thing we like puzzles! We added a wall to separate the bathroom from the master, installed a ‘tub with a view,’ and put in a free-standing vanity and glass shower to provide a sense of openness. The before pictures don’t begin to showcase the craziness that existed at the start, but we’re thrilled with the finish!

Transforming outdoor spaces into functional yet beautiful areas is always an exciting challenge at Cowbell Designs. Recently, we worked with a client who wanted to replace their existing deck with a new screened-in porch. Designing the space to ensure it received enough natural light while being covered with a roof proved to be quite the puzzle! The roof slope needed to meet two critical requirements: staying low enough to avoid interfering with the existing skylight, yet maintaining sufficient slope for proper water runoff. To maximize the ceiling height and create an open, inviting space, we decided to incorporate an LVL ridge beam. The result? A sleek and seamless solution. The icing on the cake? We submitted the plans, and within just a couple of hours, received permit approval. A gorgeous mix of traditional and contemporary style in this Toronto home! We were able to pair old furnishings with new, neutral tones with vibrant ones, and wall decor with exciting new artwork! Since we have worked with these clients before, we knew their design style to the T. The couple was moving from the suburbs to the city, so we wanted to take their usual style (which errs more on the traditional side) and throw in some exciting and bold new elements — new chapter, new look! The design turned out light and airy which is balanced by the vibrant color accents, large artwork, wall coverings, and, one of our favorite pieces, a glamorous puzzle table! My client fell in love with the Saarinen tulip table, but our budget and space could not accommodate! We opted for a smaller, inspired table from France and Sons. The light fixture was sourced from a fabricator in India, the chairs were on sale for 49.00 each. The weaving was a gift from my client's parents.

Heading upstairs, the loft has a bright and relaxing atmosphere-an accent wall that has a wallcovering of a fun library bookcase, a real built-in bookcase, and an accent Bossa Nova Pendant from Southern Lights, this is the perfect place to sit and read or start a puzzle!

Like the musical Rhapsody in Blue, by George Gershwin, this kitchen is a culmination of classical design with some jazzy effects. The shaker styled, recessed panel cabinetry is juxtaposed between traditional white and up tempo blue. 3D Glass tiled backsplash catches the light from every direction. The walnut wood top snack bar section of the island is like a puzzle piece to the booth seating area directly opposite. Custom made metal panels in the island give the whole space an upscale vibe. But there is even more to this kitchen than meets the eye. A hidden walk-in pantry and a coffee bar live harmoniously behind the blue cabinetry.
