For this family in Chatham, NJ we were hired to build them a bluestone patio at the rear of their home. The patio includes a modern gas fire-pit, built-in grilling station, a bar complete with built-in refrigerator and kegerator, (2) light piers, a sitting wall around the perimeter and (2) sets of steps. In order to give the home continuity from front to back, we used matching natural blue bluestone tiles of random sizes, matching real stone veneer to all stair risers, structure sides and walls. 2" thick bluestone caps were used for the walls and stair treads. We installed LED strip lighting below the lip of the wall caps to give them some night lighting. The counter top material for the grilling station and bar is 1.25" Quartz. The finished product was a great success and we couldn't have asked to work for a better family. We wish them many good times ahead in their new outdoor living space! #GreatWorkForGreatPeople

Complete bathroom remodel Summer 2013. This bath offers generous space without going overboard in square footage. The homeowner chose to go with a large double vanity, a nice shower with custom features a shower seat. We decided to keep the existing tub and deck it with carrara marble. The vanity area shown in this photo has plenty of storage for bathroom appliances in the tower. Below the mirrored wall cabinets we added a open towel storage space below. The mirrors were cased out with the matching woodwork, crown detail and carrara tile mosaics on each side. The countertop is Carrara slab marble with undermount Marzi sinks. The Kallista faucets are wall mounted, we was chosen in chrome since it was an easier finish to maintain for years to come. The floor tile is a 20 x 20 Silver Strand with a Carrara Marble strip set in straight. The backsplash to the vanity is the companion carrara mosaic random. Vaulted ceilings add to the dramatic feel of this bath. The polished nickel Restoration glass globe chandelier also adds to the dramatic glamor of the bath. The shower has three zones function, with a polished gray porcelain tile, mixed with split face white marble and carrara marble mosaics. This luxury bath sets its residence in Houston Texas.

The goal was to create a warm space that flowed from the abutting master bedroom. The rest of the house has a down-to-earth sophistication that combines antiques, rich textures with a botanical theme. The master bedroom has a lush tapestry bedspread full of different leaves randomly scattered across the fabric. This became the inspiration for the bath. Taking a random fern as a motif, I initially found gorgeous wallpaper with the ferns against a rich chocolate background. Concerned with durability in certain areas of the bathroom, I shifted the approach to be a custom wall finish still using the deep chocolate background in a matte finish and adding hand-painted coppery bronze ferns randomly across the surface.
The homeowners wanted a vanity that incorporated a make-up area for her and plenty of counter space for both. In order to keep the wainscoting lines in check, the vanity section maintained the same counter height as the rest of the vanity therefore a custom height was required for the vanity stool. The wainscoting was kept relatively simple so as to find matching flexible moldings for the tub face.
The ivory trim color contrasts nicely with the browns. The cabinet finish was selected to bring out the coppery-bronze topped with complimenting granite. Kohler’s Vibrant Brushed Bronze finish lent itself perfectly to the palette. The rich brown colors are offset nicely with ivory tiles which are accented with bronze and Sonoma Tilemaker’s Tantrum glass tiles.

To keep up with the new kitchen, the butler pantry and writing desk were also given the royal treatment. The butler pantry cabinets were recoloured in the same “Midsummer Night” as the kitchen island while the writing desk was recoloured in “Dove White” to match the main kitchen cabinets. Both were topped with a “Black Galaxy Gold” granite countertop and the Europa Dolomite Random Brick mosaic tile backsplash. New hardware finished off both spaces nicely.

In this kitchen, we updated the existing cabinets with new 3cm Cambria Canterbury Quartz countertops with a matching pass-through sill. A new Blanco Diamond double bowl sink in biscotti with Brizo single handle pull out faucet with Brilliance Brushed Bronze finish were installed. For the backsplash 3x6 Eternal Limestone in Jura Beige with SA60 Butternut Emperador linear mosaic tile and Xexon undercounter lighting.

Custom steel art screen designed to match the continuous interior and exterior color palette separates the master bedroom patio from the public outdoor rooms. The custom TLC Steel pergola is scaled to fit this particular patio, creating a sense of place and intimacy.

In this powder room we installed an Astoria Modern Cream White 30” vanity with white oval bowl with matching mirror and 2cm engineered Crystal Palace quartz countertop and Satin Nickel hardware knobs. Moen Eva Wide Spread faucet, towel ring, tank lever and Kohler Cimaron comfort height toilet was installed. Over the vanity is a Progressive mingle 3-light vanity light in Brushed Nickel. ¾” Solid wood plank flooring in random lengths in Ash with Ecru Lucan smooth finish was installed in the powder room, foyer, den living room and dining room.

Our client wanted an open concept space in a long narrow home that left original textures and details untouched. A brick wall was exposed as a walnut kitchen, mid-century modern furnishings and industrial style floor-to-ceiling glazing were added. In this photo a beautiful rug from Aelfie in Brooklyn ties the whole mid-century modern aesthetic together.

Our design intent was to revamp a master bathroom that would match the style of the rest of the home, a rustic and industrial look. We removed the tub and converted the shower into a stand up shower which better suited the need for this bathroom. The walnut vanity brought warmth back into the space and further emphasizes a rustic feel. For the floor tile, we went with a square Spanish mosaic tile bringing in a fun pop but still blends in with the rustic elements. The matte black plumbing fixtures and the LED medicine cabinet keeps the space contemporary and industrial and also helped create more storage and illumination to the space.
