They loved their community but not the housing options—so they chose to stay put and transform the home they already had.

This family room redesign creates a warm, functional retreat perfectly tailored for a family of four. Thoughtfully selected new furnishings are upholstered in durable, family- and pet-friendly performance fabrics that balance comfort with everyday practicality. A statement letter cocktail ottoman anchors the space, offering both relaxed seating and a playful design moment. Commissioned artwork brings a personal, curated feel, while custom throw pillows layer in color, texture, and comfort. The result is a polished yet inviting room designed for real life—equally suited for family movie nights, casual entertaining, and quiet moments at home.

This Pinterest-perfect kitchen was imagined as the true heart of the home — a place where mornings begin with sunlight pouring through the windows and evenings bring family and friends together around the island. The rich leathered granite countertops add depth and texture, built to handle real life while still feeling timeless and refined. At the center, a large statement island naturally becomes the gathering place — where conversations happen, meals are shared, and memories are made. Just steps away, a dedicated dining area offers another place to gather when the house is full. Sleek black stainless steel appliances add a modern touch, while a reverse osmosis filtration system brings clean, refreshing water right from the tap. Every detail was chosen with care, creating a kitchen that feels warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed — the kind of space every homeowner dreams of.

A dramatic full-height marble backsplash wraps the perimeter, bringing movement and softness to the darker tones, while a natural wood island adds contrast and approachability. Integrated storage, concealed appliances, and tailored details create a space that feels elevated yet completely livable — a modern kitchen designed for real life, not just show.

This outdoor space featured impressive architectural bones, anchored by a fireplace that naturally demanded attention as the primary focal point. However, the area lacked the essential furnishings, warmth, and cohesion required to function as a truly comfortable gathering spot. Our design goal was to create a functional seating arrangement for six while establishing a welcoming, inviting atmosphere through layered textures and intentional accessories. A unique aspect of this project was the client’s firm preference for metal outdoor furniture, which they preferred to source locally. We embraced this as a collaborative opportunity; I provided expert guidance on furniture selection and precise sizing to ensure the layout flowed exactly as envisioned, blending their choices seamlessly into the design. To ground the seating arrangement and soften the surrounding hard surfaces, we selected an outdoor rug in warm brown and gold tones. This addition introduced immediate visual warmth and clearly defined the conversation area. Finally, we incorporated accent pillows in soft cream and rich indigo blue to provide a sophisticated contrast that intentionally echoes the home's surroundings. We are delighted to announce that this outdoor retreat was honored with 2nd Place in the People's Choice Awards for Outdoor Spaces. Living Room in Bronco | Key Feature: A Scottsdale new-build rooted in sculptural modernism, Bronco Revival balances bold black-and-white contrast with organic textures, natural wood elements, and statement lighting. As a groundbreaking “Live Lab” designer residence, it’s a first-of-its-kind space where luxury furnishings are tested in real-world conditions before being introduced into high-profile client homes. Challenge: Because Bronco Revival was the designer’s personal residence, the project carried a unique level of pressure and intention. The challenge was creating a Scottsdale new-build that felt elevated and editorial while still functioning as a true family home. Every selection had to balance bold sculptural modernism (high contrast, statement lighting, architectural furnishings) with durability, comfort, and day-to-day livability. In addition, the home served as a “Live Lab,” meaning new vendors, materials, and luxury furnishings needed to be tested in real-life conditions before being trusted for future high-profile client projects. Solution: We approached the project with a highly curated, test-and-refine design strategy, treating each space as both a finished interior and a real-world evaluation environment. Key furnishings, textiles, and materials were selected to support the modern organic vision while also standing up to the demands of everyday family life. We worked through selections intentionally, layering in bold contrast, natural woods, and sculptural statement pieces, while prioritizing performance materials, pet-friendly durability, and timeless foundational elements. By using the home as a lived-in showroom, we were able to validate what truly performs beautifully, refine our vendor relationships, and confidently carry those proven selections into future client designs.
