Living room - cottage enclosed living room idea in Dallas with white walls and a standard fireplace

The residence received a full gut renovation to create a modern coastal retreat vacation home. This was achieved by using a neutral color pallet of sands and blues with organic accents juxtaposed with custom furniture’s clean lines and soft textures.

Rosenberg Kolb Architects is proud to announce our renovation of a 1747 timber frame house on Nantucket Island, completed in 2011. The first historic renovation project in Nantucket to receive LEED Gold status. The project was given a Grand Award by Eco Home Magazine in July, 2011. The project included: Restructuring the foundations to align and stabilize the structure in addition to providing for a new insulated crawl space; A 260 square foot addition for a kitchen, bath, and new entry; New cedar shingles, roof shingles, and restored historic windows; The house met the strict regulations of Nantucket's Historic District. On the inside, LEED Gold certification was met through: High R-value insulation and reduced air leakage; High efficiency heating, air conditioning, plumbing fixtures, and appliances; Low-emission paints and finishes as well as a clay wall finish; Using reclaimed materials from the original house and other sites. Our RHS Show Gardens can be seen here. At the 2008 Tatton Park Show we received a Bronze Medal for “Suspended Thoughts”. A year later we received a coverted RHS Gold Medal for our garden “A Place For Waste”. The garden used waste products and recycled materials to create a unique sustainable garden that received much interest from the television and media. We returned to the show in 2011 creating a minimalist garden built using sustainable materials sourced locally, adding a Silver Gilt Medal to our growing list of awards.

Innovative Construction is a different kind of renovation company because of the people that work there. They do very high quality work as well, which is not a common combination! Many of the construction guys have been working with Innovative Construction for years and they are the most thoughtful, happiest and hardworking crew we have ever been around. The office crew are very responsive and always go the extra mile to be helpful (thanks, Aisling)! Our recent job was smaller than our first job, and we still received personal service and great attention to detail (thanks, Trevor). I was amazed at how willing they all are to investigate the best options for our specific job, whether it be a different material or product or design. This has been such a fun project! The client purchased an attractive mid-century modern home in Fairfax and immediately contacted us to assist her with the design of the home. She wanted assistance creating a comfortable, contemporary, relaxing space for her, her husband and pups to enjoy. The biggest challenge we faced was the sunken living room with it's not so well built built-in benches and outdated fireplace. We quickly set out to give her the space she was dreaming of. For the sunken living room we had the benches and had new linoleum plank flooring installed (ideal for older pups). We had a custom area rug created for times when she wanted to entertain or to feel a softer under footing. We designed custom sectional benches in a soft, velvety grey fabric and added accent pillows in pops of orange, gold and blue. The fireplace received a facelift. We added a stunning stone veneer over the outdated brick. To tall accent lamps and a beautiful new chandelier add ambient and task lighting to the space. In the living room we created a comfortable and stylish entertaining area with a new sofa, two accent chairs and custom designed, custom made chaise lounge, ideal for late afternoon reading and naps by the window. A neutral foundation of grey and taupe sets of the pops of turquoise in the accent pillows and banding on the custom made draperies. New top down/bottom up woven wood shades add texture and allow for natural light and privacy at the same time. A modern acrylic ceiling fan is both functional and incredibly eye-catching. In the dining room we recycled the customers sturdy dining table, giving it new life with semi-gloss paint. New upholstered dining chairs finish off the comfortable space. A new area rug anchors and a stunning chandelier draws attention to the space. An mirrored buffet provides storage and is accented by a gorgeous new mirror, lamp and accessories. We designed this modern, cozy master bedroom to support the family's lifestyle. We installed a wall of 3D tile to house the new electric fireplace, television and components. We dropped a George Nelson Bubble Lamp on a dimmer switch above the bed for a modern touch. Inspiration for a timeless medium tone wood floor and brown floor family room remodel in Richmond with beige walls, a ribbon fireplace, a wood fireplace surround and a wall-mounted tv

Due to the limited space and the budget, we chose to install a wall bar versus a two-level bar front. The wall bar included white cabinetry below a white/grey quartz counter top, open wood shelving, a drop-in sink, beverage cooler, and full fridge. For an excellent entertaining area along with a great view to the large projection screen, a half wall bar height top was installed with bar stool seating for four and custom lighting. The AV projectors were a great solution for providing an awesome entertainment area at reduced costs. HDMI cables and cat 6 wires were installed and run from the projector to a closet where the Yamaha AV receiver as placed giving the room a clean simple look along with the projection screen and speakers mounted on the walls.

This newly built custom residence turned out to be spectacular. With Interiors by Popov’s magic touch, it has become a real family home that is comfortable for the grownups, safe for the kids and friendly to the little dogs that now occupy this space.The start of construction was a bumpy road for the homeowners. After the house was framed, our clients found themselves paralyzed with the million and one decisions that had to be made. Decisions about plumbing, electrical, millwork, hardware and exterior left them drained and overwhelmed. The couple needed help. It was at this point that they were referred to us by a friend.We immediately went about systematizing the selection and design process, which allowed us to streamline decision making and stay ahead of construction. We designed every detail in this house. And when I say every detail, I mean it. We designed lighting, plumbing, millwork, hard surfaces, exterior, kitchen, bathrooms, fireplace and so much more. After the construction-related items were addressed, we moved to furniture, rugs, lamps, art, accessories, bedding and so on. The result of our systematic approach and design vision was a client head over heels in love with their new home. The positive feedback we received from this homeowner was immensely gratifying. They said the only thing that they regret was not hiring Interiors by Popov sooner!

The powder room, adjacent to the mudroom, received a facelift: Textured grass walls replaced black stripes, and existing fixtures were re-plated in bronze to match other elements. Custom light fixture completes the look.
