This media room is personalized with a wall that features a past Christmas card photo of the homeowners' children, made possible by custom wallpaper. Its sepia tone palette is complemented with suede wallpaper on the adjoining walls. A sectional was chosen to provide ample seating, allowing the entirety of the client’s family to relax and hang out together in one place. A CLARIFIED HISTORIC RENOVATION REMOVES BAY WINDOWS AND 1950’S WINDOWS FROM THE MAIN FAÇADE. TWO WINGS AND A THIRD FLOOR AND A SYMPATHETIC STAIRWAY ACCOMMODATE MODERN LIFE. MASONS WERE TASKED TO MAKE THE STONE WORK LOOK AS THOUGH “A FARMER BUILT THE WALLS DURING THE NON-PLANTING SEASON,” THE FINAL DESIGN SIMPLIFIES THE FIRST FLOOR PLAN AND LEAVES LOGICAL LOCATIONS FOR EXPANSION INTO COMING DECADES. AMONG OTHER AWARDS, THIS TRADITIONAL YET HISTORIC RENOVATION LOCATED IN MIDDLEBURG, VA HAS RECEIVED 2 AWARDS FROM THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTURE.. AND A NATIONAL PRIVATE AWARD FROM VETTE WINDOWS WASHINGTON DC ARCHITECT DONALD LOCOCO UPDATED THIS HISTORIC STONE HOUSE IN MIDDLEBURG, VA.lauded by the American Institute of Architects with an Award of Excellence for Historic Architecture, as well as an Award of Merit for Residential Architecture

This was an incredible patio home remodel we completed in the Fall of 2013. The original interior was straight from the early 1980s. We brought the property every luxury of a 21st century kitchen - slow close drawer glides, farmhouse sink, panel-front dishwasher and refrigerator, beaded inset cabinets, island with eat-in barstools....the list goes on. Every room on the first floor was transformed with newly installed hardwood floors, crown molding, and fresh paint. The two-sided fireplace was refaced on either side as well as given brand new molding, mantles, and recessed lighting. An alder wood bookshelf was installed in the dining room. The master bath received a full-size laundry closet (in lieu of the former laundry closet which was in the kitchen where we now have a built-in and TV!). We expanded the shower to give room for a seat. The original vanity was ripped out and replaced with custom-built vanities, new lighting, mirrors, etc. Every inch of this patio home has been elevated!
