The residence can be accessed on all levels and maintains privacy through the stairwell and elevator shaft. The second level is home to a design studio, private office and large conference room that opens up to a deep balcony with retractable screens. On the residence side, above the garage is a flex space, which is used as a guest apartment for out of town guests and includes a murphy bed, kitchenette and access to a private bath. The third level is the private residence. At the front you will find a balcony, living room with linear fireplace, dining room with banquette seating and kitchen with a custom island and pullout table. Private spaces include a full bathroom and kids room featuring train car inspired bunks and ample storage. The master suite is tucked away to the rear and features dual bathroom vanities, dressing space, a drop down TV in the bedroom ceiling and a closet wall that opens up to an 8x12, his and hers closet. The lower level is part of the private residence and features a home gym and recreation spaces.

Who wouldn't want to keep their apartment in Buenos Aires? This family did. Which meant their new home in Bloomington was a fresh start and needed remodeling as well as furnishings—rugs, seating, art and everything in between. Local architect Russ Herndon revamped and opened up the kitchen in this 1970s ranch, moving awkwardly placed doors in three different locations to improve the traffic flow and allow for optimal furniture placement. SYI swept in to furnish and finish the public spaces with a careful mix of vintage and new, neutral and bold, family comfort and modern chic. The homeowner (turned friend) was a wonderful collaborator and speedy decision maker. Only one hard and fast rule governed the process: no yellow and blue, the colors of Brazil, Argentina's arch rival in soccer.

This summer house had its original layout and design when it was first brought. None of the initial elements were of value to the client, except of the exterior part of the house. When going through the redesign and execution process, the entire interior was destroyed, thus resulting in having 5 rooms (each with a bathroom), open and closed kitchen, living room, and reception area. Since it’s a summer house, there has a be a pool, so a long pool was build parallel to the house, with big open terraces that give a clear view of the Sea, which is directly in front of it. The main challenge was that due to its prime location, the material that was used had to be made up of smooth stones, to withstand the weather.

We had the pleasure of working with a wonderful photography studio called Portraits by Ryan. Through our thoughtful designs, we created an open, light space for Ryan to work in with a contrasting white interior and black furniture that oozes class. In the reception area, we wanted to display his beautiful logo above the counter to make it a big statement when you enter. Beautiful pendant lighting against warm wood creates a stylish appeal. Inside, we stuck to the monochrome look throughout the studio, including using this grey wire to hang parts of Ryan’s amazing portfolio.

The CSU Foundation Office Remodel at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO, revitalizes a dated university space into a dynamic, modern workplace. This interior design project features a flexible, open floor plan to promote collaboration and functionality, incorporating a welcoming reception area, various open work zones, 15 private offices, a small conference room, and a break room, all tailored to the needs of employees and clients. Inspired by the Foundation’s existing office, designed in 2018, the remodel showcases a bold aesthetic with vibrant pops of color integrated through meticulously designed custom furniture. Our team crafted bespoke furniture pieces, carefully selecting fabrics and finishes to align with the Foundation’s signature color palette, ensuring a cohesive and striking visual identity. Inspiration for a contemporary home theater remodel in Boston

Historic London office space revitalized with fine, textured lift enclosure. The Studio at Greencoat Place is a former Victorian depository that was renovated to become an open plan office with a beautiful street frontage. The building has been reconfigured with a new entrance befitting its scale and location with office accommodations above. The redesign compliments and utilizes the building original industrial features such as brick walls, concrete soffits, and exposed cast iron supports. A refurbished platform lift is the prominent feature in the reception area. The lift is enclosed in two layers of Banker Wire’s lock crimp wire mesh patterns. First is a fine woven wire mesh in brass, L-3. This pattern is layered behind a larger opening mesh of a similar design. L-80, another lock crimp pattern, is plated in black copper and sits over the L-3 brass pattern creating an interesting texture. Combined, the two patterns evoke the industrial aesthetic and the era that the architect was capturing in their design.
