We planned a thoughtful redesign of this beautiful home while retaining many of the existing features. We wanted this house to feel the immediacy of its environment. So we carried the exterior front entry style into the interiors, too, as a way to bring the beautiful outdoors in. In addition, we added patios to all the bedrooms to make them feel much bigger. Luckily for us, our temperate California climate makes it possible for the patios to be used consistently throughout the year.
The original kitchen design did not have exposed beams, but we decided to replicate the motif of the 30" living room beams in the kitchen as well, making it one of our favorite details of the house. To make the kitchen more functional, we added a second island allowing us to separate kitchen tasks. The sink island works as a food prep area, and the bar island is for mail, crafts, and quick snacks.
We designed the primary bedroom as a relaxation sanctuary – something we highly recommend to all parents. It features some of our favorite things: a cognac leather reading chair next to a fireplace, Scottish plaid fabrics, a vegetable dye rug, art from our favorite cities, and goofy portraits of the kids.

This client is a young medical professional who had purchased his first home. Although it’s his first he is planning on it being his forever home. He wanted sleek, unique and high end. Each room has it’s own theme and we had a lot of fun helping make his dream come true without breaking the bank. To help him save we recommended Bellmont’s 1600 series, although they feature exceptional quality and a limited life time warranty, the series’ pricing is very modest. Splurging a little on the Rift Cut White Oak gave the kitchen the sleek look that a less expensive Red Oak just would not accomplish.
The bathrooms in Cherry with a toffee stain accomplished a rich look with a modestly priced material. Adding pops of color and class with the hardware, tile and countertops helped finish off the look.

We make our octagonal Market Umbrellas in solid teak, not in a weaker wood that may warp or rot. The 9' umbrella with 1-1/2" pole fits our 30", 36", 38", 42", 50", and 52" dining tables, 35", 36" and 42" bar tables, and 36" and 42" round coffee tables. The 10' umbrella with 2" pole fits our 60", 61", 72", 73", 76", 84", 85", 92" and 98" dining tables, and 43.5" and 55" coffee tables. The 11-1/2' umbrella with 2-1/2" pole fits our 100", 106", 114", and 122" tables. We recommend the solid metal base with each umbrella which fits neatly underneath your table (Note: MB01 is not sized for TR30). Our combination of teakwood and Sunbrella outdoor fabric creates a market umbrella of superior quality. For your convenience, we have added a pulley system to our market umbrellas. This addition will facilitate the raising and lowering of the canopy.

The Framework Polished Marble Mesh-Mounted Mosaic Wall Tile has a soft white color with gray veining and a smooth, polished finish. The 2 in. x 4 in. brick pieces are fashioned with beveled edges on 12 in. x 13.19 in. mesh sheet to add definition to any residential or commercial expanse, certain to infuse your space with visual allure. Boasting random tone variations for extra character, they look particularly stunning as kitchen backsplash or tub/shower surround and also perform splendidly as an accent panel or countertop surface. Note: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer.

We often come across clients looking for small space ideas. Our first recommendation is always to go bright. The depth of our glaze color adds visual interest and a bold color choice helps make a space appear larger. Posh and polished (just like the homeowner) this stunning sapphire blue bathroom will have you in awe. The owner of this amazing lake house is our friend Rachel Shingleton of Pencil Shavings Studio. Her refined design-eye coupled with our bright and bold tile transformed this small bathroom into the perfect master bath. And could you believe it? This is a super simple project! Read on to learn more about this design and how to achieve the look yourself.
Another great way to open up a small bathroom is by using smaller tile! Our regular Hexagons are the great example of this - approximately 2"x2" their small size maximizes the rest of the room, and their classic shape is perfect for a bathroom floor.

Before the renovation, this living room was completely separate from the Dining Room in this charming 1930/40's Spanish Bungalow home. The renovation removed the large wall between the rooms opening up a great space for entertaining and family living and added windows around the fireplace, refaced the mantle, enhancing the natural light. The entry to the kitchen was made larger to further enhance the open flow of the living space of the home. I worked with the client to define a contemporary style that reflects them and to select all the soft finishes and furnishings to achieve that style. I recommended the paint palette for all the rooms. And I also consulted with them on the hardscape finishes for the adjacent hallway bathroom renovation in line with their contemporary style. Overland Park Interior Designer, Arlene Ladegaard, of Design Connection, Inc. was contacted by the client after Brackman Construction recommended her. Prior to beginning the remodel, the Powder Room had outdated cabinetry, tile, plumbing fixtures, and poor lighting.
Ladegaard believes that Powder Rooms should have personality and sat out to transform the space as such. The new dark wood floors compliment the walls which are covered with a stately gray and white geometric patterned wallpaper. A new gray painted vanity with a Carrara Marble counter replaces the old oak vanity, and a pair of sconces, new mirror, and ceiling fixture add to the ambiance of the room.
Ladegaard decided to remove a closet that was not in good use, and instead, uses a beautiful etagere to display accessories that complement the overall palette and style of the house. Upon completion, the client is happy with the updates and loves the exquisite styling that is symbolic of his newly updated residence.
Design Connection, Inc. provided: space plans, elevations, lighting, material selections, wallpaper, furnishings, artwork, accessories, a liaison with the contractor, and project management.

20 x 20 x 24 carats. Only for connoisseurs
The classic has never been so precious. Laminated in gold 24 carats, Grand Elegance Gold is a new proposal by Petracer’ s, interpretation of the first collection realized by the company more than ten years ago. Absolutely for connoisseurs, it is perfect for who loves the luxury, without shame. Grand Elegance Gold is a precious product realised by adding Pure Gold suitable for ceramic coating with traditional hand-crafted technique. Eventual flaws in shapes and finishing must be considered as genuine features of such traditional application. In order to keep this wonderful item everlasting in time we recommend to avoid abrasive cleaning products (our advice is to spread ordinary soap and wipe with a slightly damp cloth). The laying of this product must be carefully achieved especially about grouting that needs special sealing material for narrow joints; furthermore please clean by abundant water all the gruting scraps when still wet.
