A raised garden bed made of retaining wall blocks is sturdy, accessible, and ideal for supplying this family's kitchen with fresh herbs and edibles.
The gravel surround and dry creek bed act as natural dividers for the different uses in the new yard.
Additional benefits: Thirsty lawn space has been reduced significantly but without sacrificing it entirely.
The brand new native plantings, which are small at first installation, have been positioned to allow comfortable growth in coming months to form a mature, well-rounded garden.

Revamping the pantry is a transformative project that elevates both form and function in the kitchen space. Introducing adjustable shelving and pull-out trays optimizes storage, making it easier to access and organize a variety of items.
Customized storage solutions for spices, canned goods, and dry ingredients enhance efficiency and reduce clutter. Consideration of lighting, such as LED strips or motion-sensor lights, improves visibility and adds a modern touch.
A fresh coat of paint or stylish wallpaper can breathe new life into the pantry, contributing to an overall aesthetic upgrade. Additionally, investing in a smart organization system, such as labeled bins or baskets, ensures everything has a designated place.
Redoing the pantry is not just about practicality; it's an opportunity to create a well-organized, visually appealing space that enhances the overall kitchen experience.

Mid-sized elegant u-shaped light wood floor enclosed kitchen photo in Portland with a farmhouse sink, recessed-panel cabinets, gray cabinets, quartz countertops, white backsplash, stone tile backsplash, black appliances and an island

Views of the Atlantic and Katama Bay from the second floor were a driving force behind the Design of this home built several years ago in Edgartown. The Gambrel roof provides great headroom on the second floor with dormers in critical areas for windows and doors. Subtle curves soften the edges and a mix of materials help to reduce the scale and add interest to the exterior. The Porte Cochere provides access to the pool area as well as an entire wall of storage closets for the trappings of summer. Attention to detail and more than ample natural light make this house a very pleasant experience.

New upper and lower cabinetry was installed where the walk-in pantry and fridge used to be makes up for the counter top and storage space that was lost by removing the peninsula. Not only do the upper cabinets provide great additional storage, but the lighting inside is diffused with beautiful ribbed glass – providing a stylish look without the burden of meticulous dish display. The lower cabinetry incorporates drawers instead of reach-in cabinets for easy access. We also installed a microwave drawer below the counter top. These popular appliances are safer and more convenient than traditional microwaves, reducing clutter on the counter top and matching the other stainless steel appliances and hardware used in the kitchen.

We had a several challenges to face with this project. Not only did we need to update a dated landscape to accommodate two seemingly different design tastes (modern & minimalistic vs natural english garden), we were tasked with improving the property’s drainage, improving the driveway access, reducing water usage and plant maintenance, and fixing a crumbling wall.
To marry the two design tastes, we started with the more modern elements of metal planters and softened the landscape with mass plantings of ornamental grasses and native sedge. These grasses act as a turf replacement that do not need to be mowed and require less regular watering. On each side of the yard we constructed new cedar fences to provide updated and additional privacy. In addition, we poured a new concrete wall to replace the existing retaining wall and play off the new modern vibe.

Inspiration for a mid-sized transitional porcelain tile and multicolored floor mudroom remodel in Salt Lake City with gray walls

A relatively new existing home on a steep downsloping lot where you park and enter at the upper floor needed to have a dramatic stairway entry. By refining and reducing structure and scale, introducing new glass railing and a combination of wood and white cabinetry, the space now expresses a clean, crisp aesthetic reflecting how the owners want to live.
Working with German cabinets by Leicht the kitchen area was sculpted to create more usable cabinet pantry and counter area in a combination of white oak and gloss white lacquer paint. Final touches include a new porcelain tiled fireplace surround and hearth with gas insert and powder room with figured wall and floating walnut vanity. Previously partially blocked by cabinetry, now the new kitchen, dining and living rooms now all share equal access to dramatic views of the bay.

A complete two bath & kitchen renovation in a condo. Client wanted a larger kitchen area and better layout for bathrooms. We removed a wall near the entrance and extended the kitchen with additional cabinetry and storage area. Laundry room was reduced to accommodate the larger kitchen.
The shared and primary bathrooms were gutted and fully remodeled as well. Enlarged shower enclosure in shared bath for more space. Layout of primary bathroom was changed for better accessibility and flow in the area. Vanity and shower was relocated to create a more spacious and inviting environment.
Client didn’t like the current floors, we replaced it with luxury vinyl planks for durability.

Interactive Construction’s second Passive House shows that it is possible to achieve this high level of energy efficiency in even the tightest of lots. This build challenged the common assumption that you need a lot of south facing windows to achieve the Passive House certification.
The relatively small solar gains from the limited southern exposure was made up for with an extremely tight air-barrier, a top of the line HRV, and higher R-values of insulation.
To achieve the best indoor air quality, low-VOC products were used in the finishes. Solid Maple flooring was used throughout the upper levels to create a beautiful look without the chemicals found in engineered flooring.
Aging-in-place was key to the design, with a central elevator and accessible door sizes and shower access. Smart design can make homes for versatile over their lifespan which reduces the need for costly renovations in the future.
Both the indoor and outdoor areas blend to create tranquil and calm-inspiring spaces.
What the homeowners had to say:
Each area works well for its purpose. We love the stairs and the glass wall that separates the stairs from the living area. We love our windows, doors and skylights which give us so much light.

Paradise Cove features our popular New Spirit cedar and stucco paneling exterior in an abstract design which has been created to complement a contemporary focus on symmetrical windows and doors. It features a shed roof pitch that has a corner focus of stacked windows that are oriented towards a panoramic ocean view.
The heart of the home includes an open concept kitchen with spacious 3 panel sliding door which opens up to provide access to a large deck for outside dining and relaxation. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths with a bonus room office/den to make room for extra guests.
Milgard windows and doors provide quality double pane energy-star ratings, while pumice insulation, inside and out, provides sound proofing and is the ultimate choice for reducing any utility bills.
