Our client approached us while he was in the process of purchasing his ½ lot detached unit in Hermosa Beach. He was drawn to a design / build approach because although he has great design taste, as a busy professional he didn’t have the time or energy to manage every detail involved in a home remodel. The property had been used as a rental unit and was in need of TLC. By bringing us onto the project during the purchase we were able to help assess the true condition of the home. Built in 1976, the 894 sq. ft. home had extensive termite and dry rot damage from years of neglect. The project required us to reframe the home from the inside out. To design a space that your client will love you really need to spend time getting to know them. Our client enjoys entertaining small groups. He has a custom turntable and considers himself a mixologist. We opened up the space, space-planning for his custom turntable, to make it ideal for entertaining. The wood floor is reclaimed wood from manufacturing facilities. The reframing work also allowed us to make the roof a deck with an ocean view. In 2025, we completed this full home remodel, which included complete reframing, a new kitchen and bathroom, new flooring, tiles, and stairs. The primary bedroom was enhanced with a vaulted ceiling, adding space and character. The basement was reframed and closed, optimizing the space for future use. The result was a beautifully refreshed home with thoughtful details throughout.

This Bathroom was originally very small, the toilet was too close to the wall, there was a very small vanity and not much footspace. So NH Bath Builders expanded the bathroom by gaining space from a closet that was not being used on the other side of the wall. This bathroom renovation included tiled floor and shower walls with a Kohler Archer tub. As some bathroom renovations may require, NH Bath Builders removed all the sheetrock, reframed walls and then finished the bathroom. One of the things that many of our customers love about us is we can take care of everything for you we have licensed electrician and plumbers we work with and then we do everything else. So there is not any coordinating headaches for the homeowner.

Vivid Interiors It all began with an aqua Terrazo tile as the inspiration for -our client's master bathroom transformation. A master suite built for an Edmonds Queen, with walk-in closet, master bathroom, and 2 vanity areas were included. The project also included updates to her powder room and laundry room- which was relocated to the lower level. This allowed us to reframe her master suite area and create a larger, more dramatic, and very functional master bath. Angled walls made space-planning and reframing a challenging puzzle to solve and we not only had to measure the interior, but the exterior angles as well since we were removing walls. Luckily, the large “wet room” concept met the client’s needs and overcame this obstacle. The new space features a stand-alone tub open showering area, as well as sink vanity, and seated makeup area. Additionally, storage needs were addressed with a wall of cabinetry installed adjacent to the new walk-in closet. A serene color palette and a variety of textures gives this bathroom a spa-like vibe and the aqua highlights repeated in glass accent tiles. Our client enjoys her choice of a walk-in shower or soaking tub with bubbles in the modernized space. Storage was desperately needed, as you can see from the before photos, so the en-suite closet was designed in a linear wall configuration. The original Terrazo tile was used as the vertical accent in the corner of the shower and on the top of the rounded shower bench. Our client held onto her inspiration tile for years while she saved to create a budget worthy of this project and its amenities. Budget is always a consideration, and here our client chose to spoil herself. Some unique design features include: • The angled end of the makeup vanity with shelves for toiletries within easy reach of the tub and hidden view. • The makeup vanity side lighting, seated counter and a convenient laundry chute • The free-standing tub is perfectly positioned to create a direct sight-line through the master bedroom to the Puget Sound views beyond. • Wall-mount waterfall filler and controls at the tub eliminate a bulky floor mount faucet. • An angled countertop and glass shelving add interest between the sink vanity and closet cabinetry. • The toilet is tucked out of sight just past the first tall cabinet. • A glass partition blocks overspray from the shower. She now enjoys a spa like retreat every day!

The original bathroom was bright lavender with outdated tile and flooring and was very narrow and boxed in. We removed all existing materials including the flooring, three walls, 3 doors and a window. We reframed the bathroom to allow for a larger more open space, walk in closet, and toilet area, installed four Anderson windows (one in water closet) and three new knotty alder doors, including a pocket door and barn door . The handsome vanity is by Omega Cabinetry in Dynasty Series, quartz countertops by Silestone and Spanish tile in Monte Carlo handmade ceramic tile. All these beautiful materials, new features and lots of other special touches came together for a stunning master bathroom.

The fireplace wall had been unfinished for years. After a leak they had a hard time deciding what to do with the space. Finn personally built a steel floating box around the fireplace and reframed the wall so that it could be better utilized for art or as a media wall. Simple materials and thoughtful design reinvent a space. Rather than spending a lot of money to clad a whole wall, some drywall, steel and concrete made the space unique and fresh and truly useable space. The fireplace was also brought up to code, a previous leak and repair had left the fireplace without adequate fireblocking and the unfinished harth made it unsafe for children to be around. isARK Studio

Our clients house was built in 2012, so it was not that outdated, it was just dark. The clients wanted to lighten the kitchen and create something that was their own, using more unique products. The master bath needed to be updated and they wanted the upstairs game room to be more functional for their family. The original kitchen was very dark and all brown. The cabinets were stained dark brown, the countertops were a dark brown and black granite, with a beige backsplash. We kept the dark cabinets but lightened everything else. A new translucent frosted glass pantry door was installed to soften the feel of the kitchen. The main architecture in the kitchen stayed the same but the clients wanted to change the coffee bar into a wine bar, so we removed the upper cabinet door above a small cabinet and installed two X-style wine storage shelves instead. An undermount farm sink was installed with a 23” tall main faucet for more functionality. We replaced the chandelier over the island with a beautiful Arhaus Poppy large antique brass chandelier. Two new pendants were installed over the sink from West Elm with a much more modern feel than before, not to mention much brighter. The once dark backsplash was now a bright ocean honed marble mosaic 2”x4” a top the QM Calacatta Miel quartz countertops. We installed undercabinet lighting and added over-cabinet LED tape strip lighting to add even more light into the kitchen. We basically gutted the Master bathroom and started from scratch. We demoed the shower walls, ceiling over tub/shower, demoed the countertops, plumbing fixtures, shutters over the tub and the wall tile and flooring. We reframed the vaulted ceiling over the shower and added an access panel in the water closet for a digital shower valve. A raised platform was added under the tub/shower for a shower slope to existing drain. The shower floor was Carrara Herringbone tile, accented with Bianco Venatino Honed marble and Metro White glossy ceramic 4”x16” tile on the walls. We then added a bench and a Kohler 8” rain showerhead to finish off the shower. The walk-in shower was sectioned off with a frameless clear anti-spot treated glass. The tub was not important to the clients, although they wanted to keep one for resale value. A Japanese soaker tub was installed, which the kids love! To finish off the master bath, the walls were painted with SW Agreeable Gray and the existing cabinets were painted SW Mega Greige for an updated look. Four Pottery Barn Mercer wall sconces were added between the new beautiful Distressed Silver leaf mirrors instead of the three existing over-mirror vanity bars that were originally there. QM Calacatta Miel countertops were installed which definitely brightened up the room! Originally, the upstairs game room had nothing but a built-in bar in one corner. The clients wanted this to be more of a media room but still wanted to have a kitchenette upstairs. We had to remove the original plumbing and electrical and move it to where the new cabinets were. We installed 16’ of cabinets between the windows on one wall. Plank and Mill reclaimed barn wood plank veneers were used on the accent wall in between the cabinets as a backing for the wall mounted TV above the QM Calacatta Miel countertops. A kitchenette was installed to one end, housing a sink and a beverage fridge, so the clients can still have the best of both worlds. LED tape lighting was added above the cabinets for additional lighting. The clients love their updated rooms and feel that house really works for their family now. They also wanted a built-in breakfast nook, improved pantry space, more functional storage on either side of their fireplace, and a built-in appearance for the TV above the mantel. The original built-in desk was not used, and they preferred for that space to serve as a small bar area with refrigeration and a place to store their printer. We designed several plans for the space before selecting the final layout. The new design required the removal of the soffit over the old sink, as well as a small wall beside the old refrigerator. The wall beside the stairwell had to be shortened 13 inches and a new beam installed to carry the load of the home’s 2nd story to gain enough space for the large central island. The existing closet pantry walls were also reconfigured as per the new plan. This serves as a great reminder that Dimensions In Wood is much more than just custom cabinets. Central to the entire custom kitchen is an 8-foot Walnut island. The huge island, which comfortably seats three, is topped with Essenza Blue quartzite. The stone’s natural striations are beautiful. Quartzite is harder than granite, and less likely to stain than other stones because of its density. The couple had to look through multiple slabs to find a piece they LOVED. The island’s custom Walnut cabinetry, built to resemble a piece of custom furniture, was stained Bronzed Walnut by Sherwin Williams. The 4-foot Galley Workstation in the island, handles all the kitchen’s prep, serving, and cleanup needs. The Galley’s culinary tools include an upper tier cutting board, upper tier drying rack, 2 lower tier platforms, 11″ colander with non-slip handles, and 11” mixing bowl with lid and non-slip bottom. To establish the breakfast nook, a bench with drawers and an upholstered seat was built into the bay area of the room. Custom bookshelves were built with open shelves, cabinet doors, and drawers on either side of the fireplace. A new stone hearth and fireplace surround were installed. Above the existing mantel we built a recessed space for the flat screen television hiding all wiring inside the walls for a completely clean look. The space that was once a desk was transformed into a bar area. The glass shelves and glass cabinet front liquor cabinet stand out. But this bar area has hidden secrets. Tucked beneath the black granite is a Thermador under-counter double drawer refrigerator with matching wood front panels. They blend in perfectly with the cabinets. A wireless printer is easily accessed on a slide out drawer. Plus, what looks like merely wooden panels on the wall are concealing recessed storage for more bottles and glasses! Overhead recessed lighting and speaker system provide illumination and entertainment through the entire space. This luxury home had original, solid oak flooring through most of the first floor which the homeowner obviously wanted to keep but were in desperate need of repair and refinishing. Our master craftsmen wove in new wood flooring to match the old where needed, particularly where walls had been changed and where the floor was damaged. We sanded the floors, smoothing away years of wear and tear. The entire wood floor was then uniformly stained, making it impossible to differentiate where any repairs were made. This 1927 Spanish Colonial home was in dire need of an upgraded Master bathroom. We completely gut the bathroom and re-framed the floor because the house had settled over time. The client selected hand crafted 3x6 white tile and we installed them over a full mortar bed in a Subway pattern. We reused the original pedestal sink and tub, but had the tub re-glazed. Compact yet functional. This 7'x5' basement bathroom was partially gutted to remove the existing bathtub and reframed to expand the new shower area. The new shower system features a linear drain, floor to ceiling turquoise 4"x4" tiles and 2"x2" mosaics on the floor. The main floor tile is a large format dark "metallic" gray 3'x5' tile which was also used to trim the top and sides of the curb. Black bathroom fixtures were installed and the shower enclosure features a barn door style sliding glass door.

Our clients were aging in place and wanted a curbless shower and large shower bench to meet certain functionality needs. We incorporated both of these wishes into our design and also made the shower larger within space. We utilized the current structure so we did not to do any re-framing into the client's hallway. Within the confines of the existing framing we maximized the space be creating an L shaped bench and niche, adding additional space for seating, storage, and a little extra design flare that really sets the shower space off!
