When functionality is the main issue, drastic measures must be considered to correct the problems. In this Hugo remodel, we did a 180-degree transformation, moving the kitchen to where the living room and fireplace used to be and visa-verse.

A wall of storage had been added above an area originally designed as bench seating, but access was an issue and the storage rendered the seating unusable. (See "before" photo) Removing a closet and entirely re-configuring this wall with custom cabinetry created the feeling of dining room and put the storage where it was easy to get at. The formerly under-used tiled window seat area was treated to custom seat and throw cushions for the ultimate in kitchen seating comfort.

The original master bathroom in this home had a separate tub and shower with lots of unused space and a cramped vanity area. Riverside Construction removed the tub and shower and added a large, steam shower complete with a seat and large window. With the reclaimed space, a new vanity area with seating was added including speciality storage for curling irons and hair dryers.
