We are thrilled to unveil our latest bathroom remodeling project, a seamless blend of modern design and functional elegance. Here's a glimpse into the transformation:
1. Contemporary Palette: The choice of a grey color tile sets a sophisticated and neutral backdrop, allowing the features of the bathroom to shine. This hue not only exudes a sense of calm but also complements the contemporary design elements we've incorporated.
2. Warmth Underfoot: One of the standout features of this remodel is the heated flooring that runs under all the tiled areas. This luxurious addition ensures that even on the coldest mornings, your feet are greeted with a warm embrace, elevating the comfort level of the bathroom.
3. Enhanced Layout: Recognizing the need for more convenience, we repositioned the shower and introduced a second toilet room. This not only maximizes the use of space but also ensures that the bathroom can cater to multiple users without any hassle.
4. Dual Shower Spaces: By eliminating two angles in the bathroom's corner, we've carved out space for two distinct shower areas. This design choice not only adds a touch of luxury but also offers a versatile bathing experience tailored to individual preferences.
5. Wet Room Wonder: The shower and tub area now reside within a waterproof wet room. This innovative design ensures that water stays where it's supposed to, eliminating the need for a curb and offering a sleek, uninterrupted flow to the space.
6. Floating Vanities: Our floating vanities are more than just a design statement. They create an illusion of space, making the bathroom appear larger and more open. Paired with a stunning stone backsplash, they offer a perfect blend of style and functionality.
7. Illuminated Elegance: The mirrors, with their integrated lights, are the pièce de résistance. They not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the bathroom but also ensure optimal lighting, making daily grooming tasks a breeze.
This bathroom remodel is a testament to our commitment to marrying design with functionality. Every element, from the choice of tiles to the heated floors, has been thoughtfully chosen to create a space that is not just visually appealing but also supremely functional and comfortable. We invite you to step in and experience this modern oasis for yourself.

The existing excavated limestone boulders were strategically repositioned to not only serve as functional components but also as visually striking features to the modified design of the dry creek pathways and planted areas.
The trees are viewed as an opportunity to utilize dark Whittlesey mulch to provide contrast, water retention, and tie in to other defined beds and oak clusters on the property.
The front walk is comprised of sawn limestone pavers surrounded by crushed limestone rock mulch and accented by river rock dry creek bed that follows through to the backyard.
The existing overwhelmed downspouts were replaced with rain chains, which not only effectively managed the water flow but also added a touch of elegance that matched the home's style. To work in tandem with the rain chains, 8” limestone block splash pads were installed beneath them to act as splash pads. The limestone block beautifully matches and enhances the existing architecture of the property, as well as the materials used throughout the landscaping.

For this home we were hired to go beyond the kitchen and bathrooms and redesign the entire home. The "Before and After" photos really tell the story of how this house went from cramped, dark, & cluttered, to a cozy and functional home.
We removed and repositioned walls to make for an open concept feel, making for a much larger kitchen with clever storage and a place to better entertain family & friends bringing in more natural lighting in the process.
The final takeaway is a space that is up to date, open, and comfortable. This home is more comfortable than it has ever been and is now the gold standard of design in the Lynwood neighborhood.

This 1950's split-level ranch house was completely renovated to meet the needs of a growing family. The central roof was raised to admit generous natural ambient light to the kitchen and living spaces. New metal windows were enlarged and repositioned to capture distant views. Interior finishes were replaced and the mechanical system revised to provide radiantly heated floors.
The project was undertaken while Jim was a partner with Richard Brown Architects, AIA, LLP.

Fresh Look Design assisted my client in making her home more cozy and inviting with our One Day Decorating service. By repositioning their furniture and accessories and then adding some unique pieces, the main floor in her new house feels like home. To complete her living room, we will add draperies, a coffee table and some lamps.

Every remodeling project presents its own unique challenges. This client’s original remodel vision was to replace an outdated kitchen, optimize ocean views with new decking and windows, updated the mother-in-law’s suite, and add a new loft. But all this changed one historic day when the Woolsey Fire swept through Malibu in November 2018 and leveled this neighborhood, including our remodel, which was underway.
Shifting to a ground-up design-build project, the JRP team worked closely with the homeowners through every step of designing, permitting, and building their new home. As avid horse owners, the redesign inspiration started with their love of rustic farmhouses and through the design process, turned into a more refined modern farmhouse reflected in the clean lines of white batten siding, and dark bronze metal roofing.
Starting from scratch, the interior spaces were repositioned to take advantage of the ocean views from all the bedrooms, kitchen, and open living spaces. The kitchen features a stacked chiseled edge granite island with cement pendant fixtures and rugged concrete-look perimeter countertops. The tongue and groove ceiling is repeated on the stove hood for a perfectly coordinated style. A herringbone tile pattern lends visual contrast to the cooking area. The generous double-section kitchen sink features side-by-side faucets.
Bi-fold doors and windows provide unobstructed sweeping views of the natural mountainside and ocean views. Opening the windows creates a perfect pass-through from the kitchen to outdoor entertaining. The expansive wrap-around decking creates the ideal space to gather for conversation and outdoor dining or soak in the California sunshine and the remarkable Pacific Ocean views.

L-shaped sofa sectionals frame a room, and are easy to maneuver around. When you're ready for change- reposition them to create an entirely new layout.

During jacking and re-positioning, it was important to stabilize the various elements with the use of clamps, until everything was just right. With the roof weight re-applied, we were able to use fasteners to permanently attach the pieces, and then caulk all seams with silicone sealant. Gap below clamp was created to allow drainage of any water that might travel down the hollow columns from the roof structure.

Our goal for the master bathroom was to make better use of the space. The original bathroom had a small acrylic shower and a large jacuzzi bathtub. Our plan was to create a spacious walk-in shower, relocate the toilet, add a double sink vanity, and maximize the available space. By moving the sink wall over a foot, we were able to accommodate a 72-inch vanity and create a spacious doorway. The toilet was relocated and repositioned for added privacy. We designed a custom curbless walk-in shower with a corner shower bench and niche. A glass-gridded shower partition was added to separate the shower from the rest of the bathroom. To add a touch of color and drama, we chose black fixtures to complement the light gray walls and white quartz countertops. The almost 6-inch shower head, along with the handheld shower wand, provides a luxurious spa-like experience from the comfort of your home.

Great remodel. We made the most of the small space by repositioning the appliances and raising the ceiling. Warm wood tones throughout tie the space together. Classic shaker style cabinets in a rich walnut tone along with contemporary glass mosaic backsplash and Silestone countertops pull together a fantastic kitchen.

A fresh kitchen renovation in Magnolia that blends timeless charm with modern efficiency. We upgraded flooring and introduced durable engineered hardwood with in-floor heating. Custom, clean-lined cabinetry pairs with stainless appliances, stone accents, and a soft, neutral palette. Subtle layout tweaks like repositioned windows and optimized workflow invite more light and improve daily function.
Ideal for those who love both aesthetic and everyday comfort.

We transformed an A-Frame home for a couple seeking more light and openness. By removing walls and repositioning the counter, we improved headspace and flow. Track lighting, sconces, and modern appliances added brightness, while maple flooring created warmth. We also installed a window-paneled door and custom slat walls to let natural light pour in, blending the indoors with nature and making the space feel airy and welcoming.

Though their century-old barn was beautiful and majestic, it was also located in an inconvenient spot. We built a substantial new foundation, jacked up the barn, and repositioned it closer to the driveway. Finally, we patched the barn boards on the existing structure and build a garage addition off the driveway.

Overhaul Converts Classic Rambler to A Modern Yet Classic Family Home in Fairfax
This 1970 rambler in middle of old town in Fairfax City has been home to a growing family of five.
Ready for a massive overhaul, the family reached out to Michael Nash Design Build & Homes for assistance. Eligible for a special Fairfax City Renaissance program, this project was awarded special attention and favorable financing.
We removed the entire roof and added a bump up, second story three-bedroom, two bathroom and loft addition.
The main level was reformatted to eliminate the smallest bedroom and split the space among adjacent bedroom and the main living room. The partition walls between the living room and dining room and the partition wall between dining room and kitchen were eliminated, making space for a new enlarged kitchen.
The outside brick chimney was rebuilt and extended to pass into the new second floor roof lines. Flu lines for heater and furnace were eliminated. A furnace was added in the new attic space for second floor heating and cooling, while a new hot water heater and furnace was re-positioned and installed in the basement.
Second floor was furnished with its own laundry room.
A new stairway to the second floor was designed and built were furnace chase used to be, opening up into a loft area for a kids study or gaming area.
The master bedroom suite includes a large walk-in closet, large stoned shower, slip-free standing tub, separate commode area, double vanities and more amenities.
A kid’s bathroom was built in the middle of upstairs hallway.
The exterior of this home was wrapped around with cement board siding, maintenance free trims and gutters, and life time architectural shingles.
Added to a new front porch were Trex boards and stone and tapered style columns. Double staircase entrance from front and side yard made this residence a stand out home of the community.
This remodeled two-story colonial home with its country style front porch, five bedrooms, four and half bathrooms and second floor laundry room, will be this family’s home for many years to come.
Happier than before, this family moved back into this Extreme Makeover Home to love every inch of their new home.

Obelisk Home’s direction from the client was don’t move any walls, doors, windows or plumbing, but make our master suite look new modern yet consistent with our love of antiques and collections. This was the task given to the Obelisk Home team.
We designed a new bathroom layout reusing their drop-in tub, classic fixtures and cabinetry and still changed the overall feel and function of the space. We added new tile, new shower shape, with a closed function, yet open feel, repositioned the tub and made it an under-mount, new cabinet hardware, re-built the tower in the center, added lighting, mirrors, wallpaper, granite and most important a heated floor. New bedding, lighting, window coverings, art, and accessories used with clients collected art and accessories completed the look.
