Chris, the owner, was merely considering the possibility of downsizing from a formal residence outside Atlanta when he happened on the small complex of luxury brownstones under construction in nearby Roswell. “I wandered into The Providence by chance and loved what I saw. The developer, his wife, and the agent were there and discussing how Cantoni was going to finish out one of the units, and so we all started talking,” Chris explains “They asked if I wanted to meet with the designer from Cantoni, and suggested I could customize the home as I saw fit, and that did it for me. I was sold.” Cantoni was originally approached by Mike and Joy Walsh, of Lehigh Homes, to create a contemporary model home to be featured on the Roswell Woman’s Club home tour. “Since Chris bought the brownstone right after we agreed to do the design work,” Lorna Hunter recalls, “we brought him in on the meetings with the architects to help finalize the layout.” From selecting tile and counter tops, to designing the kitchen and baths, to the furniture, art and even linens—Cantoni was involved with every phase of the project. “This home really represents the complete range of design and staging services we offer at Cantoni,” says Lorna. “Rooms were reconfigured to allow for changes Chris found appealing, and every tile and doorknob was thoughtfully chosen to complete the overall look.” Chris found an easy rapport with Lorna. “I have always been drawn to contemporary décor,” he explains, “ so Lorna and I hit it off immediately.” Among the custom design ideas the two conceived for the 2,600 sq. ft. 3/3 brownstone: creating a “wing wall” (open on both sides) to form a sitting area adjacent to the guest room downstairs, removing the elevator to enhance a sense of openness while leaving the 3-story shaft as a unique focal point, and choosing to expand the height of windows on the third level to maximize the flow of natural light. The Providence is ideally located near quaint shops, great restaurants, jogging trails and a scenic river—not to mention it’s just four miles from Chris’ office. I was asked to represent my client's home and garden on this painting, It's a whimsical and creative version. I asked them what were their favorite flowers. The curved black object is a great contemporary sculpture. The lilies look gigantic because my clients LOVE them. That's what I like about painting: even when I represent the reality, I can still change it and make my ow version of the reality.

Our Arce natural stone tile is a silicified dolomite with high dolomite content (around 75%). Amongst other components, this rock includes 25% of quartz and iron oxides. Represented in a yellowish cream-colored background with brown wood-like veins crossing the surface, making this sandstone tile have the appearance of wood look flooring. This dolomite natural stone tile is available in different surface finishes including natura and textured, as well as in different dimensions. Natura Finish: A finish with slightly chamfered edges. The Canada House on Trafalgar Square in London England has been undergoing a planned revitalization for the last two years. The project, expected to be completed by November 30, 2014, will renovate and refurbish Canada House and connect it to the adjacent building at 2-4 Cockspur Street, which will also be upgraded. We were awarded the opportunity to build a unique table that would represent the province of Manitoba in the Canada House as its revitalization initiative to represent Canadian artists and designers to the world. The table itself was built from a 200+ year old salvaged Manitoba Oak tree cut on our sawmill to retain the live edges. We carefully selected pieces to incorporate some beautiful natural cracks where Walnut butterfly keys were incorporated for structural integrity. The stain was carefully custom mixed in-house to match the other surrounding furnishings in the room the table is destined to be in. The electrical power data modules we’re sent to us direct from the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada and counter sunk into the table for a flush design. We built the custom steel leg and leg structure accommodating for the heft weight of the tabletop. Lastly the table was packaged according to ISPM 15 certified packaging for oversees export requirements. The IL-1 Beta table was a unique and personalized birthday gift for renowned scientist Charles DInarello. We were commissioned to build a custom gift to represent three defining elements of his life; the refining of IL-1 Beta, one of his first monumental scientific achievements; his love of gardening and outdoor living spaces; and his enthusiasm for entertaining guests and fitting as many people around his table as possible (both figuratively and literally). We combined these three defining elements, and designed an outdoor table, a courtyard centerpiece, that would represent IL-1 Beta and enhance the scientist’s garden parties. One of the most important and challenging design aspects of the IL-1Beta table were the pedestal legs. The recipient of this beautiful gift, Dr. Dinarello, loves entertaining guests, introducing strangers, and encouraging conversation, so we designed a table that could sit many and then add more. The pedestals are each composed of seven pieces of wood that had to be assembled in a precise order for strength, stability and beauty. The table stands delicately with just the tips of the pedestal legs touching the ground, like a couple mid-waltz, poised and strong and light on the dance floor.

Though lovely, this new build was lacking personality. This work from home family needed a vision to transform their priority spaces into something that felt unique and deeply personal. Having relocated from California, they sought a home that truly represented their family's identity and catered to their lifestyle. With a blank canvas to work with, the design team had the freedom to create a space that combined interest, beauty, and high functionality. A home that truly represented who they are.
