First things first…this renovation was certainly a labor of love for everyone involved, from our amazing clients, to the contractors, vendors and us, this project consumed all of us and the outcome is more than Gorgeous. This contemporary home is nestled back in a a great area of St Louis County. A brick ranch with contemporary touches…once adorned glass blocked bar and stairwell, a tiny galley kitchen and a remodeled garage that once housed their “dining and hearth room” but no one ever used that space. CURE Senior Designer, Cori Dyer took this space, completely and brilliantly re worked the configuration and entire floor plan and layout. Tearing out the dividing wall from the kitchen and what was once the garage, allowed the new kitchen layout to be flipped to the now long perpendicular wall, and created an open mega kitchen with great natural light, double islands, eat in kitchen and seating area, bar and open the great room. You can stand among the space at any point and are able to take in the entire view. Creating an uber chic space doesn’t happen on its own…it takes intricate design, research and planning. Custom made cabinets, a double island featuring two surfaces a butcher block and unforgettable marble. This clean color palette plays well with the new custom furniture in the great room, creating a seating area that sparks conversations.

Following extensive research the homeowners settled on a Tom Howley kitchen. Choosing a hand-finished and bespoke kitchen has not only contributed to the quality look and feel of the room but also makes best use of the space.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Anton Grassl of Esto Photographics DESCRIPTION: The Graduate School of Public Health is located on a main thoroughfare that runs the length of the University of Pittsburgh’s urban campus. The University sought a building that would establish a real presence for GSPH in the community and reflect the significant research occurring within. By designing an elevated addition with extensive glass facades, the building showcases the school’s activities along the main avenue; the transparent facades eliminate barriers between the researchers and the outside world. While maximizing sunlight, the new lab addition provides flexibility for researchers and the design was crucial in creating a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere. JURY COMMENTS: This is an addition to an existing building that creates a unified building expression. It has a strong civic quality and the materials are well considered. There is a pleasing façade rhythm. The building is clearly organized and the addition enhances the original facility.

This home was built in the late 1790's as a typical Virginia farmhouse. They purchased the home about 6 years ago with a dream of making it their own with personal, authentic details. Those they could not skimp on. After researching to find that we (Timberlane Inc) makes custom, functional shutters they took it to their advantage and built their own set of shutters painted with a custom color and personalized with a custom cut-out. They know that not another home has the same exact shutters as they do, and that makes our home unique.

Sleeper Sofa researched heavily as required to be as comfortable as a regular bed [high end mattress]; sofa rated high for comfort. Bonus: it is attractive and still reasonably priced.

The kitchen unfortunately didn't fit the charm of the home and was in need of an appliance update so was the time to add the character befitting the home. The owner started research on line and found many features he wanted to introduce into his kitchen from our previously published projects so called us in to help with his vision.
