While renovating their home located on a horse farm in Bedford, NY, it wasn’t surprising this husband and wife (who also is an equestrian) wanted their house to have a “barn feel”. To start, sourced reclaimed wood was used on the walls, floors and ceiling beams. This traditional kitchen, designed by Paulette Gambacorta, features Bilotta Collection cabinetry in a flush flat panel custom green paint with a glaze on maple. An added detail of a “crossbuck” end on the peninsula was custom made from reclaimed wood and inspired by the look of barn doors. Reclaimed wood shelves on iron brackets replaced upper cabinets for easy access. The marble countertops have a hand cut edge detail to resemble the look of when the stone was first quarried. An antique carpenter’s work bench was restored by the builder, for use as an island and extra work station. An apron front sink and a wains panel backsplash completed the barn look and feel.

Large undermount bathtub with a Newport Brass tub filler gives this bathtub a pristine and sleek look. The mosaic tile feature pulls gold from the faucetry and adds a beautiful dimension with the hexagonal pattern. This large area even has an expansive bench.

The impressive 4-foot sink has modular accessories for easy rinsing, chopping, and straining. Repainting the windows in gloss black allows the mullions to recede and the lush back garden to flow into view.

Our client wanted an outdoor living space for her Border Collies and rescued cats. We used her existing patio and gave it a good power washing, fresh paint and we brought in Rough Sawn Redwood to create the fence and cat walks. We also added the trellis to support her healthy plants that would provide shade during the hotter months and bring several hummingbirds to home. PC: Aaron Gilless

A classical fireplace featuring fluted Doric pilasters and a decorative frieze grace the living room. Handsome, custom designed trim and cornice mouldings further complement the space. The cased opening on the right opens onto the billiard’s room.

This main floor bathroom had to function not only as a Powder Room for guests but also be easily accessible to the backyard pool for the family to change and wash up. Combining the weathered wood vanity and shower wall tiles with the crisp shell-inspired mirror and sand-like floor tile we’ve achieved a space reminiscent of the beach just down the road.

Some vintage Midcentury pieces here along with a custom made Swarovski crystal sputnik chandelier similar to the much larger one in the NYC Metropolitan Opera House!
