The Vegetable Tree print is a variation of the Tree of Life theme that Josef Frank often used and playfully transformed into a vegetable tree. In this print Josef Frank’s stylises shapes, increases the colour intensity and blends nature with fantasy to spark wonder. Josef Frank designed the print while he was living in New York.
-Antique wing back chairs have been reupholstered with Claremont Suffolk Check, new seat cushion insets of down/feather. Blue and white check compliments the vivid colors of the window treatment fabrics.

The green themed Eighty Twenty Meals logo of the Saudi based venture, is set on the façade of the industrial design healthy restaurant and easily communicates the brand's identity and the type of meals offered, surrounded with randomly sized glass panels in slim white frames.

THEME The sheer delight of the merrygo-
round — an enduring symbol of
childhood — is captured in this beautiful
room dedicated to the carousel. The
ageless joy and beauty of a classic
carousel creates a magical space where
anything seems possible.
FOCUS Designed for two special twins,
the actual carousel in the room stands
almost 14-feet tall and eight-and-a-half
feet wide to hold two baby cribs. Two
hand-painted carousel horses (that
are also reproduced in framed photos
above the changing tables) complete
the authentic look. Window treatments
start at the center of the carousel with
fabric that arches out to each window
to pull together the entire room. Custom
fabrics are used throughout the space,
and the entrance to the attic within the
room is disguised with an oversized,
vintage amusement park ticket. A
television is framed on the wall with
a monkey on top to ensure that even
modern items have a vintage feel.
STORAGE An 18-foot by 12-foot wall
of letter blocks creates an abstract
armoire that provides storage for
clothes, toys, books and other items.
The center blocks create a bench seat
along the wall, while freestanding
blocks within the room help add to the
illusion that all of the blocks in the room
are actually stacked.
GROWTH The wall armoire can be
easily updated to accommodate
growing children by removing the
letters and repainting the blocks in
another style.
SAFETY Everything in the room is
secure, but if accidental falls or slips
do occur, the floor has been custom
made to be soft and safe. Twofoot
square floor pads created with
Medium Density Fiber board and two
layers of carpet padding with fabric
over top, cover the floor to create the
feel of walking on pillows.

THEME The overall theme for this
space is a functional, family friendly
escape where time spent together
or alone is comfortable and exciting.
The integration of the work space,
clubhouse and family entertainment
area creates an environment that
brings the whole family together in
projects, recreation and relaxation.
Each element works harmoniously
together blending the creative and
functional into the perfect family
escape.
FOCUS The two-story clubhouse is
the focal point of the large space and
physically separates but blends the two
distinct rooms. The clubhouse has an
upper level loft overlooking the main
room and a lower enclosed space with
windows looking out into the playroom
and work room. There was a financial
focus for this creative space and the
use of many Ikea products helped to
keep the fabrication and build costs
within budget.
STORAGE Storage is abundant for this
family on the walls, in the cabinets and
even in the floor. The massive built in
cabinets are home to the television
and gaming consoles and the custom
designed peg walls create additional
shelving that can be continually
transformed to accommodate new or
shifting passions. The raised floor is
the base for the clubhouse and fort
but when pulled up, the flush mounted
floor pieces reveal large open storage
perfect for toys to be brushed into
hiding.
GROWTH The entire space is designed
to be fun and you never outgrow
fun. The clubhouse and loft will be a
focus for these boys for years and the
media area will draw the family to
this space whether they are watching
their favorite animated movie or
newest adventure series. The adjoining
workroom provides the perfect arts and
crafts area with moving storage table
and will be well suited for homework
and science fair projects.
SAFETY The desire to climb, jump,
run, and swing is encouraged in this
great space and the attention to detail
ensures that they will be safe. From
the strong cargo netting enclosing
the upper level of the clubhouse to
the added care taken with the lumber
to ensure a soft clean feel without
splintering and the extra wide borders
in the flush mounted floor storage, this
space is designed to provide this family
with a fun and safe space.

While this new home had an architecturally striking exterior, the home’s interior fell short in terms of true functionality and overall style. The most critical element in this renovation was the kitchen and dining area, which needed careful attention to bring it to the level that suited the home and the homeowners.
As a graduate of Culinary Institute of America, our client wanted a kitchen that “feels like a restaurant, with the warmth of a home kitchen,” where guests can gather over great food, great wine, and truly feel comfortable in the open concept home. Although it follows a typical chef’s galley layout, the unique design solutions and unusual materials set it apart from the typical kitchen design.
Polished countertops, laminated and stainless cabinets fronts, and professional appliances are complemented by the introduction of wood, glass, and blackened metal – materials introduced in the overall design of the house. Unique features include a wall clad in walnut for dangling heavy pots and utensils; a floating, sculptural walnut countertop piece housing an herb garden; an open pantry that serves as a coffee bar and wine station; and a hanging chalkboard that hides a water heater closet and features different coffee offerings available to guests.
The dining area addition, enclosed by windows, continues to vivify the organic elements and brings in ample natural light, enhancing the darker finishes and creating additional warmth.

We reconfigured this kitchen - removing a wall - to allow for a large island for entertaining. With two young children, durability was key. We chose Brownstone stools customized with performance fabric on the back to introduce a bit of pattern and wipeable faux leather seats.
The backsplash over range is a single slab of Eureka Danby from Vermont's Dorsett Mountain, which wipes down easily. The Lostine pendants and sconces introduce a smidge of midcentury vibes. The tongue and groove backsplash and soapstone counters provide a quaint farmhouse feel; and we chose the fabric for the roman shade from a Parisian fabric house, Antoinette Poisson, which specializes in 18th century pattern designs, to add a bit of history.

Our client and her sister own a condo in Florida and although her sister lives there full-time, our client only comes to Florida for the winter and utilizes the guest room and a separate bathroom as her own. At the time, enthusiastic to be in Florida she went all out in decorating in the old Florida style with a green and yellow tropical feel including a plethora of palm trees (see before picture). All the furniture had to be from Tommy Bahama and even the light fixtures had a tropical theme.
Fast forward to 2015 and our client was tired and bored in these surroundings and said to me, “what was I thinking!” She didn’t have the budget to change everything and I assured her that we could update her bedroom keeping the existing furniture. One of her previous decorating problems was the tiny window over the bed which she had covered by adding a faux canopy. Unfortunately, the fabric was thin and the window showed through. I tried to persuade her that a solution for the window issue could be a large painting over the bed but she wasn’t keen so we agreed to refresh the canopy with a more modern look.
We started with fresh silvery-grey paint and glossy white trim. Using subtle greeny-blue bedding from Eastern Accents we extracted a simple palette and mixed in several patterns including a classic Greek key. There are geometrics in the pillows and a floral in the custom cornice and draperies and we found a fabric from the same color palette for the drapery behind the bed from Kravet. It has a beautiful sheen which reflects light and is heavily lined to cover the window. Our project manager added the wood trim to the cornice board.
The modern chair is upholstered in a sea green herringbone while the table has an interesting story; my client loved the shape of the table but it was originally finished completely in gold leaf. Part of our update was to change everything metal such as door knobs and drapery hardware to chrome so our project manager offered to re-finish the table in silver leaf. Along the way we had a hiccup in the communication… she asked if the top was glass and was told it was but we didn’t realize that she hadn’t unpacked it so didn’t see the gold rim. On installation day we were surprised to see the gold rim against the silver legs! Happily, it was a really good error as the painting behind the chair has both gold and silver leaf and our error looks as though it were meant to be.
We finished with turquoise blown glass lamps, several pieces of art, and a large floor mirror (not in photo). The client asked if she could choose some pretty accessories at local art fairs and one painting is by her artist brother-in-law.
This project was very enjoyable as we were able to modernize the room with an updated coastal palette while at the same time utilizing existing furniture.

What a fun room for a little boy! Our team decided on a camping theme for this little one complete with a tent bed and an airplane overhead. Custom green built in cabinets provide the perfect reading nook before bedtime. Relaxed bedding and lots of pillows add a cozy feel, along with whimsical animal artwork and masculine touches such as the cowhide rug, camp lantern and rustic wooden night table. The khaki tent bed anchors the room and provides lots of inspiration for creative play, while the punches of bright green add excitement and contrast.

The dining room of the 1911 Shingle-style cottage is warm and comfortable. Off of the living room and adjacent to a porch greenhouse. The end chairs are by Kravet. The side chairs feature the same tapestry fabric. The dining room rug is similar to the living room rug, considered the "sister" rug with the same blues, oranges, golds and greens. Designer Cyndie McManus redesigned a retired couple’s Isle of Palms condo to create a calm beachside retreat. Inspired by nature – the beach, sand and water – Cyndie created a design palette with coastal colors and patterns. The condo is full of seaside hues like soft greens and blues mixed with white and wooden textures. Cyndie even refinished some of the couple’s furniture herself by distressing some of the wood and adding a fresh coat of paint to other pieces. She continued her seaside theme into the guest bedroom, where she added a pop of coral to their nightstand, which she painted herself. The neutral starfish patterned custom draperies added to the decor and coastal flair. A second bedroom continued the inviting palette with blues and greens. We love the fabric she chose for the bedspread.
