This “Arizona Inspired” home draws on some of the couples’ favorite desert inspirations. The architecture honors the Wrightian design of The Arizona Biltmore, the courtyard raised planter beds feature labeled specimen cactus in the style of the Desert Botanical Gardens, and the expansive backyard offers a resort-style pool and cabana with plenty of entertainment space. Additional focal areas of landscape design include an outdoor living room in the front courtyard with custom steel fire trough, a shallow negative-edge fountain, and a rare “nurse tree” that was salvaged from a nearby site, sits in the corner of the courtyard – a unique conversation starter. The wash that runs on either side of the museum-glass hallway is filled with aloes, agaves and cactus. On the far end of the lot, a fire pit surrounded by desert planting offers stunning views both day and night of the Praying Monk rock formation on Camelback Mountain. Practicality was a priority in the landscape design for a couple with two dogs. The wall and gate were built high enough to keep the dogs safe and undistracted by passers-by. The greenery was selected for durability and easy maintenance with pets.

The custom steel floating bar houses great cheap Texas beer (Lone Star- known as the 'National Beer of Texas') and a good scotch. The custom Juliette balcony also allows for great breezes to flow through the space while sitting inside. Or the two doors to the left bring you out to the roof top deck. Juliette built by J-Ru.

Pets were a driving force in the redesign of Nine Point Something. A desolate dog run was eliminated and replaced with pup-friendly grasses and other plantings to encourage curiosity and engagement. Drifts of sumac provided cover for one of the client's hobbies- birding. The custom made teak-framed bed is designed both for sunbathing and shade, with a retractable cloth awning. The the teak deck, screen and arch were also custom made. Transformable chairs change from floor space into wooden lounge chairs. The two rusted metal safes were found in the apartment before renovation by Liquid Founder, Rowena Gonzales and were kept as decorative side tables. Potted plants add a green element to the rooftop, and copper planters maintain the sleek atmosphere. Wireless surround sound and integrated home automation system.
