The sage green island has an asymmetrical layout with a wooden counter top. The higher level accommodates space for a glass display cabinet. We designed furniture base around the island with bead board paneling at each end to accent the kitchen's style. -Allison Caves, CKD Caves Kitchens

We renovated this kitchen adding a beautiful decorative hood that's black and gold over a stainless steel stove. The matte black faucet and pulls on the shaker cabinets and drawers bring the design together. We used quartz for the countertops and ceramic subway tile for the backsplash. We added a pop of color, green, on the bottom cabinets and white on the top cabinets.

Kitchen remodel featuring custom cabinets with the perimeter painted in Benjamin Moore Tate Olive and the island in a custom warm walnut stain. The perimeter countertops feature glacier quartzite with the island in a leathered nero marquina marble. Custom Venetian plaster range alcovve. 1920's vintage pendant lights at the island with Mitzi sconces at the perimeter. Custom cafe curtains at the new windows. Plumbing includes a pot filler at the la Cornue range, a glass rinder, pull down faucet and hot water dispenser. The custom countertop hutch features brass cremone bolts to add european charm. Floors are custom white oak.

Inspiration for a timeless kitchen remodel in Portland Maine

A mid-sized transitional open-concept house that impresses with its warm, neutral color palette combined with splashes of purple, green, and blue hues. An eat-in kitchen given visual boundaries and elegant materials serves as a welcome replacement for a classic dining room with a round, wooden table paired with sage green wooden and upholstered dining chairs, and large, glass centerpieces, and a chandelier. The kitchen is clean and elegant with shaker cabinets, pendant lighting, a large island, and light-colored granite countertops to match the light-colored flooring. The goal of this bath was to create a spa-like feel. Opting for the dominant color of white accented by sage green contributed to the successful outcome. A 54” white vanity with double sinks topped with Carrera marble continued the monochromatic color scheme. The Eva collection of Moen brand fixtures in a brushed nickel finish were selected for the faucet, towel ring, paper holder, and towel bars. Double bands of glass mosaic tile and niche backing accented the 3x6 Brennero Carrera tile on the shower walls. A Moentrol valve faucet was installed in the shower in order to have force and flow balance.

The modern stainless steel appliances assist in making this traditional kitchen appealing and fully functional. The refinished oak floors and sage green cabinets with the flat black hardware produce a welcoming atmosphere. The foot print of the kitchen remains the same with the exception of an odd shaped island that was removed to allow more versatile space. All the cabinets were refaced with shaker style doors with the cabinet structure sanded and painted. The original kitchen had a wine rack above the electric stove, we replaced it with an electric vent hood. Our design called for a sage green paint on the lower cabinets and a cream on the upper cabinets. The counter tops were replaced with a quartz stone and a beautiful pallet of subway tile to tie the kitchen together. G-interiors, Christine Gee
