When our clients approached us to renovate their 1950s Newfoundland home, their goal was to modernize while reflecting both their West Coast roots and current East Coast lifestyle. What began as a simple ensuite repair expanded into a full home transformation, completed in two thoughtfully phased renovations. Drawing from our cross-coastal experience—and a personal connection to the home’s past—we blended classic East Coast charm with West Coast simplicity. From reworking the layout and finishes to integrating their art collection and layering in warm, tactile materials, every detail was designed to feel cohesive, inviting, and deeply personal.

These clients were ready to turn their existing home into their dream home. They wanted to completely gut their main floor to improve the function of the space. Some walls were taken down, others moved, powder room relocated and lots of storage space added to their kitchen. The homeowner loves to bake and cook and really wanted a larger kitchen as well as a large informal dining area for lots of family gatherings. We took this project from concept to completion, right down to furnishings and accessories.

The entrance to a home sets the stage for life within! For this project we really wanted to reflect the fun, playful personality of this family. The entryway is tall and soaring, representing their exuberant energy and high on life attitude. Shiplap walls make sure we don't take things too seriously. The stunning artwork on the wall is a testament to the love and friendship of this family. This piece was done by a close personal friend who lost her battle with cancer, but chose to show the joy of her life in her art. The perfect combo of life and love.
