I’m always on a constant journey of looking beyond the surface to discover underlying structures and principles to better understand the world around me. These works are interpretations of the visible and invisible patterns which influence our values, beliefs and actions. They expose the layers to life and experience; along with the multitude of connections which make them up. Pieces are created using components from photographs and improvising to manipulate their forms and color. Each piece takes on a new whole, representative of the different paradigms and frameworks from which one can operate. Metallic print under a sleek and modern 1/4" acrylic glass Art arrives ready to hang and floats 3/4" off the wall

This custom play structure transforms the bedroom into a place for movement, imagination and adventure. Bold red climbing bars provide access to the elevated area, while a suspended rope hammock creates a playful spot for lounging, reading and imaginative play above the bed. Built directly into the birch millwork, the climbing feature feels like an intentional part of the room rather than a separate piece of play equipment. Integrated bedside cubbies keep favorite books, toys and collections visible and within reach, while concealed cabinets store less decorative items. Natural wood and neutral textiles allow the energetic red details to become a defining expression of the child’s personality.

This is a kitchen and dining room remodel recently done in Soundview, Port Washington. Our goal was to create a warm and inviting kitchen, therefor we selected a mellow, neutral palette. The cabinets are soft Irish Cream as opposed to a bright white. The mosaic backsplash makes a statement, but remains subtle through its beige tones. We selected polished brass for the hardware, as well as brass and warm metals for the light fixtures which emit a warm and cozy glow. For beauty and practicality, we used quartz for the working surface countertops and for the island we chose a sophisticated leather finish marble with strong movement and gold inflections. Because of our client’s love for Asian influences, we selected upholstery fabric with an image of a dragon, chrysanthemums to mimic Japanese textiles, and red accents scattered throughout. Functionality, aesthetics, and expressing our clients vision was our main goal.

In collaboration with: Casi St. Julian of Francis & Saint Interiors This custom kitchen blends classic details with rich color, expressive natural stone, and thoughtfully layered finishes. Striking blue cabinetry creates a focal point at the island and surrounding storage, balanced by soft beige perimeter cabinetry for an elevated feel. Dramatic natural stone carries across the countertops and backsplash, bringing movement and character throughout the space, while warm brass hardware and plumbing fixtures add a refined finishing touch. Wire-front cabinetry, integrated appliances, dedicated beverage storage, and carefully considered organization make the kitchen as functional as it is beautiful. Patterned wallcovering, dark wood flooring, traditional millwork, and sculptural lighting give the room a collected quality that feels at home with the surrounding architecture. The result is a kitchen that feels sophisticated and established while still incorporating unexpected color, pattern, and material.

ARCHITECTURE: Certificate of Merit PROJECT: School of Freshwater Sciences CLIENT: University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee ARCHITECTURE FIRM: Bohlin Cywinski Jackson with Continuum Architects + Planners ENGINEERS: GRAEF; Henneman Engineering; PSJ Engineering; Bloom Companies, LLC CONTRACTORS: J.P. Cullen & Sons, Inc. PHOTOGRAPHER: Christopher Barrett DESCRIPTION: The location of the site along the Kinnickinnic River as it flows into Lake Michigan is replete with industrial activity – shipping containers, tug boats, freighters, and coal pile reserves. Within this context, the School of Freshwater Sciences was designed to be an icon for important freshwater research and a stimulus for future development, with inspiration found in expressing the nature of water. JURY COMMENTS: The architect successfully alluded to the past use of the building as a ceramics plant, while providing a simple straight ahead solution that reflects its current use as a building dedicated to freshwater sciences and its location near the Great Lakes with a playful façade that has movement, color, texture ,and beauty.
