Trunk style coffee tables are the latest-greatest trend in interior designing and our Palmer Rustic Reclaimed Wood Tapered Base Storage Coffee Table Trunk would be a total stunner no matter where you place it.
The unique design and finish of this table are courtesy of its distinct reclaimed wood hand craftsmanship. When closed, it can be used to feature a number of accessories such as candelabras, vintage vases, potpourri bowls, etc. The bottom half of this trunk is tapered and has an inward incline. Its façade is embellished with gorgeous hand-carved engravings while the bottom is supported on tall bun-shaped feet.

Real wood is a product of nature, and as such, no two pieces are alike. Variations in solid wood grain patterns are to be expected and make each furniture uniquely beautiful, just like us humans.

Before our transformation, dark wood flooring drew the eye downward. After, a beautiful Tufenkian hand-knotted, dyed wool rug matches the artwork over the fireplace, taking your eyes on a colorful journey around the space. It’s worth investing in a quality rug, and I always encourage my clients to purchase hand-made artwork that you love, made by a local or regional artist.
Details matter, when it comes to luxury, so taking time to get it right is absolutely worth the attention, an investment you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Kitchen in Ironwood Drive | Warm Modern Home in Scottsdale, AZ |
Room Type: Whole Home Remodel and Furnishings |
Project Name: Ironwood Drive Residence |
Key Feature: A Tuscan home transformed into a warm modern interior through a full remodel and furnishings, highlighted by a custom hand-painted terracotta tile backsplash, custom cabinetry, and a new fireplace clad in basalt black stone that anchors the living space with drama and elegance.
Challenge: Tuscan homes in Scottsdale are everywhere, and the design language that defined them, heavy wood, ornate details, dark iron, and rustic stone, does not transition gracefully on its own. The goal was to shed that Old World weight and move the home into something warmer and more current without losing the character that makes a remodeled home feel intentional rather than generic.
Solution: Living with Lolo led the full remodel and furnishings as a single integrated project, which meant every decision from the custom cabinetry to the final throw pillow was made in service of the same design vision. The hand-painted terracotta tile backsplash brought artisan character into the kitchen in a way that felt fresh rather than Tuscan, and the basalt black stone fireplace gave the living space a bold focal point that reads as distinctly modern. Because Lauren holds both an interior design credential and an active Arizona ROC general contractor license, the construction and design were managed under one roof with no gap between the two.
Materials: Custom hand-painted terracotta tile backsplash, custom cabinetry, basalt black stone fireplace, curated warm modern furnishings and textiles sourced through Living with Lolo's trade relationships.
Budget: $250,000 to $550,000 |
Timeline: Approximately 5 to 9 months from design through completion.

Weave:- The weaving of hand knotted rug is entirely different than that of hand Tufted or hand-woven rugs. To create a hand knotted rug, skilled weavers use a hand-knotting gun to create a weave on the top sheet, with a sturdy looped pile which can be left as is or cut. The height of the pile is determined by the initial setting of the loop-length, or, on how much yarn is cut off. Hand knotted rugs have grown popularity owing to quicker preparation, affordable price ranges and for great durability amidst heavy footfall.
Material:- In the universe of rug-fabrics, wool is considered one of the finest, owing to the touch, feel & practical benefits of this natural wonder-fiber. Wool has many qualities that place it far ahead in the rug-making business – e.g. high durability, warmth, rich look & feel etc. Wool is a pre-eminent choice for a classy rug that can last you for decades.
Pile:- The pile of this rug is ideal for any kind of room where traffic is high. This rug will be long lasting if regular cleaning is done. The weaving of this rug is done in such a fashion that doesn’t allow the dust to reach inner surface and offers amazing durability.
Proper Set Up & Care:- Hand knotted rugs are heavy rugs and fits well with any kind of flooring. Unlike rugs of other weave the hand knotted rugs have a cotton backing which makes it anti-skid. These rugs are very durable if maintained properly.
Floor Protection:- Though hand knotted rugs have cotton backing which makes it anti-skid and harmless to the floor but you can always use a high quality rug pad to provide an extra level for floor protection.
Cleaning Methods:- It is advised to choose the vacuum cleaning option as the material is wool and the weaving is hand knotted. For any stain, the users can opt for professional dry cleaning method.

Boasting views of the Museum of Natural History and Central Park, the Beaux Arts and French Renaissance style building built in 1900 was once home to a luxury hotel. Over the years multiple hotel rooms were combined into the larger apartment residences that exist today. The resulting units, while large in size, lacked the continuity of a single formed space. StudioLAB was presented with the challenge of re-designing the space to fit a modern family’s lifestyle today with the flexibility to adjust as they evolve into their tomorrow. Thus, the existing configuration was completely abandoned with new programmatic elements being relocated in each and every corner of the space. For clients that are big wine connoisseurs, the focal point of entry and circulation lies in a 400 bottle, custom built, blackened steel and glass, temperature controlled wine cabinet. The once enclosed living room was demolished to create one main entertaining space that includes a new dining area and open kitchen. Hafele bi-folding pocket door slides were used in the Living room wall unit to conceal the television, bar and display shelves when not in use. Posing as kitchen cabinetry, a hidden integrated door opens to reveal a guest bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Down the hallway of wide plank ebony stained walnut flooring, a compact powder room was built to house an original Paul Villinski installation of small butterflies cut from recycled aluminum cans, entitled Mistral. Continuing down the hall, and through one of the walnut veneered doors, is the shared kids bedroom where a custom-built bunk bed with integrated storage steps and desk was designed to allow for play space and a reading corner. The kids bathroom across the hall is decorated with custom Lego inspired hand cast concrete tiles and integrated pull-out footstools residing underneath the floating vanity. The master suite features a bio-ethanol fireplace wrapped in blackened steel and integrated into the Tabu veneered built-in. The spacious walk-in closet serves several purposes, which include housing the apartment’s new central HVAC system as well as a sleeping spot for the family’s dog. An integrated URC control system paired with Lutron Radio RA lighting keypads were installed to control the AV, HVAC, lighting and solar shades all by the use of smartphones.

This bathroom was made for two. Two vanities provide ample space in a master bath however in this home the owner let us take it one step further. Here we have installed dual masters showers in a single walk in shower enclosure. One to the left and another identical shower to the right. Complete with matching windows, shampoo niches, hand held sprays they share a shower seat centered on the single glass door entrance. Beyond a free standing tub is set upon a mosaic floor tile and beneath a chandelier for a soft elegant touch. We utilized every opportunity to include a window, they provide white water ocean views and floods the room with natural daylight.

The Mercer collection has all the angles covered. It is stunning no matter how you look at it. The metal work is as beautiful as the waterfall of crystal beads and faceted jewels that adorn it. From below, the metal forms a floral design, like something you might see in a stained glass window.

Quality materials are important to the longevity of your bathroom vanity. Cheap vanities made with particle board or MDF tend to sag, warp, split, discolor, and expand over time. This is especially true in humid climates, such as the environment found in a normal bathroom. Since bathroom humidity is so common, bathroom vanities need to be extremely durable. They also need to be strong enough to endure lots of usage-based wear and tear. Vanities are typically made of MDF, birch, rubberwood, or natural oak. Generally, MDF is approximately 30 % the quality of oak, birch is 50% the quality of oak, and rubberwood is typically 90% the quality of oak, where "quality" is defined as the strength, integrity, and durability of the material. Solid oak is without question the strongest, most durable, and most resilient of all vanity materials. Only the highest-quality and best made vanities are manufactured from natural oak.
