Situated on one of the most prestigious streets in the distinguished neighborhood of Highland Park, 3517 Beverly is a transitional residence built by Robert Elliott Custom Homes. Designed by notable architect David Stocker of Stocker Hoesterey Montenegro, the 3-story, 5-bedroom and 6-bathroom residence is characterized by ample living space and signature high-end finishes. An expansive driveway on the oversized lot leads to an entrance with a courtyard fountain and glass pane front doors. The first floor features two living areas — each with its own fireplace and exposed wood beams — with one adjacent to a bar area. The kitchen is a convenient and elegant entertaining space with large marble countertops, a waterfall island and dual sinks. Beautifully tiled bathrooms are found throughout the home and have soaking tubs and walk-in showers. On the second floor, light filters through oversized windows into the bedrooms and bathrooms, and on the third floor, there is additional space for a sizable game room. There is an extensive outdoor living area, accessed via sliding glass doors from the living room, that opens to a patio with cedar ceilings and a fireplace.

This L shaped outdoor kitchen has it all: a grilling area, tons of storage space and a built-in refrigerator. Behind the grill island, a sizable U-Cara backsplash with a smooth face texture in Bavarian was built to add comfort and create a monochromatic background that allows the stainless steel appliances to “pop.” The U-Cara color scheme was carried over to a sizable bar island, providing lots of counter space and an elevated bar area where visitors can sit and observe the cook in action. After dinner, drinks can be enjoyed around a bar-style fire table.
A wooden pergola is elevated on pillars atop the L shaped outdoor kitchen, providing shade while grilling. Another benefit to using the U-Cara Multi-Face Wall System comes in the form of EnduraColor, which is a two-step manufacturing process that helps to protect the surface of these pavers from fading over time.

As avid entertainers and recent empty nesters, our clients requested a home that would adequately meet their needs while also accommodating children, extended family, and friends. The sizable living room floor plan, wall of windows, and beautiful floating cove ceiling with recessed lighting made this space ideal for hosting large gatherings. Located adjacent, the kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, including an 88” La Canache Sully range with a 90” hood vent, provided adequate counter space for prepping and preparing meals. Double islands added beauty and functionality while the 1,230-bottle, climate-controlled wine room offered guests and homeowners alike quick access, whether for an after-dinner cocktail or added flavor while cooking. Outside, the sparkling pool and covered patio with ceiling fans combatted the Texas sun and heat, while the eye-catching 8-foot-long fire pit and sizable hot tub would come in handy during cooler weather.

When full-time Massachusetts residents contemplate building a second home in Telluride, Colorado the question immediately arises; does it make most sense to hire a regionally based Rocky Mountain architect or a sea level architect conveniently located for all of the rigorous collaboration required for successful bespoke home design. Determined to prove the latter true, Siemasko + Verbridge accompanied the potential client as they scoured the undulating Telluride landscape in search of the perfect house site.
The selected site’s harmonious balance of untouched meadow rising up to meet the edge of an aspen grove and the opposing 180 degree view of Wilson’s Range spoke to everyone. A plateau just beyond a fork in the meadow provided a natural flatland, requiring little excavation and yet the right amount of upland slope to capture the views. The intrinsic character of the site was only enriched by an elk trail and snake-rail fence.
Establishing the expanse of Wilson’s range would be best served by rejecting the notion of selected views, the central sweeping curve of the roof inverts a small saddle in the range with which it is perfectly aligned. The soaring wave of custom windows and the open floor plan make the relatively modest house feel sizable despite its footprint of just under 2,000 square feet. Officially a two bedroom home, the bunk room and loft allow the home to comfortably sleep ten, encouraging large gatherings of family and friends. The home is completely off the grid in response to the unique and fragile qualities of the landscape. Great care was taken to respect the regions vernacular through the use of mostly native materials and a palette derived from the terrain found at 9,820 feet above sea level.
