we removed the shower/tub and replaced it with a walk-in shower without a door. we used the same porcelain tile on the shower walls and added a "bubble mosaic" decorative tile from emser. the honed travertine mosaic shower floor tile will keep the homeowner from slipping. you turn the shower on from the entry platform to the shower. terry harrison interior design/build

Custom composite deck designed to create a durable, low-maintenance outdoor living space. Built for long-term performance, clean aesthetics, and everyday enjoyment, this deck enhances both function and curb appeal while standing up to the elements.

Slate’s naturally slip-resistant surface is very hard and durable, with varied colors and features that have served builders and architects for centuries. Suitable for indoor as well as outdoor applications, slate satisfies many natural stone flooring needs.

This remodel addressed issues including peeling vinyl flooring, outdated fixtures, and safety hazards due to deferred maintenance. Challenges included: sourcing budget-sensitive materials with a high-end feel; slip-resistant hexagon floor tiles; a new pedestal sink; a water-saving toilet; and a larger medicine cabinet, while correcting code violations. Universal Design created an open floor plan, low-maintenance finishes, zero-threshold entries into the bathroom and shower, in addition to highly-contrasting materials, grab bars with blocking, accessible towel bars for user convenience, and dimmable lighting with anti-glare trim. We combined modern materials for a noir style and universal functionality for our aging-in-place clients and their forever home.

The focal point of the pool/spa is the raised Alicante black granite feature wall with modern copper scupper. The matching black coping complements the premium interior finish of Pebble Tec ‘Blue Wave’ exposed aggregate, which is highly durable, slip resistant and pleasant feeling under foot.

This small bathroom remodel in Los Angeles was designed to improve layout, increase storage, and create a clean modern look without changing the footprint. The space was originally tight and lacked functionality. We upgraded the layout by installing a floating wood vanity to open up the floor area and make the room feel larger. A mirrored cabinet and built-in wall niche were added to improve storage while keeping the design minimal and uncluttered. The shower was remodeled with a glass enclosure to remove visual barriers and allow more light into the space. Tile selection focused on durability and slip resistance while maintaining a clean, modern finish. Scope of work included demolition, tile installation, vanity installation, plumbing fixtures, and glass shower installation. All work was completed following Los Angeles building standards. This project is a good example of a small bathroom remodel in Los Angeles where smart design and proper execution can significantly improve both function and appearance without expanding the space.

Repetition of mosaic marble/glass backsplash on tub face and wall behind toilet and vanity adds interest to otherwise neutral fixed elements of marble floor and white quartz countertop, and bevilled white large format subway tile in tub/shower enclosure.
