Modern basement is something especially convenient to have in order to compensate for lack of daylight that gets in there. Modern room style has minimalistic behavior to it when only major furniture and supplements are displayed making it look organized. At the same time asymmetry and sharp angles add playfulness typical for a room suitable to hang out with friends and spend your free time. In this case central element is corner fireplace that harmonically connect both room areas and can be enjoyed from both of them finishing the atmosphere created by rustic hardwood floors.

An existing house with several additions lacked coherence and connection to the large private yard. The homeowners asked us to re-envision the property to be both a cozy home for them and an inviting destination suitable for entertaining friends and family. Using our master plan design service, we re-imagined the entire house and land as a whole. This holistic approach led to an unexpected and beautiful re-ordering of the home integrated with the private yard. Large floor to ceiling glass walls are used to connect inside and outside rooms. Reclaimed wood beams, stone walls, and integral colored plaster curate an interior environment that is elevated yet relaxed.

The beautiful shingle home was built several years prior, but progress stalled and the interior was never fully finished off, creating more of a weekend crash pad than second home. We had 4 months to fully furnish and accessorize the 4+ bedroom home before they hosted a large family reunion. We tackled a function problem first. The home, with its open floor plan, had multiple types of flooring, which only served to chop up the space. Worse, most of the flooring was cream carpet and not suitable for waterfront living. We replaced the mismatch with durable driftwood floors that will stand up to years of sandy feet and party spills. We selected and installed all the finishing touches - furniture, window treatments, accessories, bedding and art. And we beat our reunion deadline by a week, giving the homeowners a chance to enjoy it all to themselves before the guests arrived

The Dixie double bed is characterized by a large and slightly curved wooden headboard, while front feet can be chosen between wooden or metal type. The included wooden slats lie under the mattress and rest on horizontal supports, guaranteeing the best comfort while sleeping. The Sextans suspension lamp is equipped with a large fabric shade with a minimalist design. The triangular-shaped base with rounded corners makes it suitable for placing next to the sofa. The metal frame always matches the finish of the shade diffuser. The Sextans lamp matches easily with contemporary environments, and is ideal for completing the living area. Also available in the suspension versions.

A warm and inviting basement offers ample seating for family gatherings or an ultimate movie night. This custom accent wall adds warmth and intrigue to a play space suitable for adults and teens alike.

The open dining concept caters to easy entertaining and relaxed hosting. With a combination of easy to care for materials (wood, leather, rope), this space is suitable for everyone.

A young couple arrived in Lisbon amid the pandemic to start the next chapter of their life together. They were welcomed by a quieted city, with renewed appreciation for its own natural beauty, and happened upon a recently reconstructed apartment with a broad river view. All that remained was to select suitable furnishings to transform the spacious top-floor duplex into their own comfortable home. In the airy living area, a Poul Cadovius teak shelving system is the central display and entertainment center, drawing the eye toward the riverscape. The verticality is countered by sofa-chaise seating atop a Portugese-produced rug, plus a reclining armchair whose color takes cues from the plentiful plants. Playful, vintage lamps illuminate in accents, after the pastels of sunset fade beyond the bridge. Entertaining runs through the couple’s veins, one of which built a career in wine and hospitality, so within reach of the intimate dining table is a built-in bar with bountiful bottle storage. The mezzanine above serves the other partner’s dance and somatic practices with made-to-measure wall mirror and upholstered floor mats. Hidden away is the adjacent master suite, its billowy bed encircled by clean, concealed clothing storage for uncluttered repose. The downstairs guest bedroom is modest so its walls reflect the day’s changing light. A bespoke bed with contiguous floating nightstands, proportions inspired by Cadovius, offers peaceful respite. Bedside pendants were hand crafted by a local ceramicist, imparting an organic touch to otherwise sleek lines of wood and metalwork. Across the hall, work and rest coexist: an extra writing module from the shelving system and a classic Eames task chair make a workstation, while a custom-designed pull-out daybed accommodates naps and extra visitors.
