This dining room was designed to create a moody and cozy atmosphere. The dark blue wall colour ads an element of drama, contrasted by a gold branch sculpture on the wall and two sconces on the farther end. A heritage rustic dining table is softened by tufted cream coloured linen dining chairs and accented with gold cutlery.

Along with the current white kitchen trend, this kitchen fits in perfectly with its twist on the blue color palette. This kitchen is an updated version of an old idea, with traditional subway tiles and color play on the blue tones. As part of Wellborn’s Estate Series, this kitchen combines a unique twist of an old French Café and modern elements; making the aesthetic design of this kitchen guaranteed to leave you in awe. In this kitchen by Wellborn Cabinet is a blend of Full Overlay and Beaded Inset cabinetry. The upper and lower cabinetry includes full overlay Lexington doors painted in our newly launched Oyster White color with smooth close drawer guides and door hinges. The upper center and island cabinets are Hanover Beaded Inset accented with oil rubbed Bronze barrel hinges and finished in Wellborn’s newly launched Aqua paint.

In the dining room we installed 3-D wall tiles that mimic the shapes found on the tracery ceiling in the adjacent family room. This darling young family of four recently moved to a beautiful home over looking La Jolla Shores. They wanted a home that represented their simple and sophisticated style that would still function as a livable space for their children. This transitional guest bedroom is unique and fun. The metal bed contrast well with the rustic night stands. Adding color is reflected in the paisley bedding and the purple walls. The shape of the angled porch-roof, sets the tone for a truly modern entryway. This protective covering makes a dramatic statement, as it hovers over the front door. The blue-stone terrace conveys even more interest, as it gradually moves upward, morphing into steps, until it reaches the porch. Porch Detail The multicolored tan stone, used for the risers and retaining walls, is proportionally carried around the base of the house. Horizontal sustainable-fiber cement board replaces the original vertical wood siding, and widens the appearance of the facade. The color scheme — blue-grey siding, cherry-wood door and roof underside, and varied shades of tan and blue stone — is complimented by the crisp-contrasting black accents of the thin-round metal columns, railing, window sashes, and the roof fascia board and gutters. This project is a stunning example of an exterior, that is both asymmetrical and symmetrical. Prior to the renovation, the house had a bland 1970s exterior.
