This commercial tenant improvement was completed in 2016 for locally based international safe manufacturer and retailer. The improvements focused on representing the company’s deep local roots utilizing barnwood and other traditional materials while also representing its forward thinking vision with the creative use of metals, historical safes and polished concrete. Inspiration for a large master blue tile and glass tile marble floor bathroom remodel in Chicago with flat-panel cabinets, medium tone wood cabinets, white walls, an undermount sink and solid surface countertops

This Queen Anne style five story townhouse in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn is one of a pair that were built in 1887 by Charles Erhart, a co-founder of the Pfizer pharmaceutical company. The brownstone façade was restored in an earlier renovation, which also included work to main living spaces. The scope for this new renovation phase was focused on restoring the stair hallways, gut renovating six bathrooms, a butler’s pantry, kitchenette, and work to the bedrooms and main kitchen. Work to the exterior of the house included replacing 18 windows with new energy efficient units, renovating a roof deck and restoring original windows. In keeping with the Victorian approach to interior architecture, each of the primary rooms in the house has its own style and personality. The Parlor is entirely white with detailed paneling and moldings throughout, the Drawing Room and Dining Room are lined with shellacked Oak paneling with leaded glass windows, and upstairs rooms are finished with unique colors or wallpapers to give each a distinct character. The concept for new insertions was therefore to be inspired by existing idiosyncrasies rather than apply uniform modernity. Two bathrooms within the master suite both have stone slab walls and floors, but one is in white Carrara while the other is dark grey Graffiti marble. The other bathrooms employ either grey glass, Carrara mosaic or hexagonal Slate tiles, contrasted with either blackened or brushed stainless steel fixtures. The main kitchen and kitchenette have Carrara countertops and simple white lacquer cabinetry to compliment the historic details.

This estate is characterized by clean lines and neutral colors. With a focus on precision in execution, each space portrays calm and modern while highlighting a standard of excellency.

Custom Modern Industrial Kitchen Sink Cabinet This expansive custom kitchen base unit showcases a brilliant visual contrast, pairing heavy-duty dark steel with the bright, clean tones of light natural wood. Engineered on a robust steel skeleton frame, the piece is capped with a rich, dark solid wood countertop that features an integrated sink and modern fixture, making it a perfect functional centerpiece for any high-end industrial kitchen. The highly tailored storage layout combines aesthetic appeal with practical utility. The center focus is a pair of custom double doors featuring industrial steel mesh inserts—ideal for under-sink ventilation and adding a raw, textural element. Flanking this center section are matching banks of drawers and solid wood cabinet doors. Every door and drawer front is encased in a custom-welded steel frame and engineered to cleanly overlap the main structural face frame behind it, providing exceptional dimensional depth and a premium, durable finish. Minimalist metal hardware completes the sleek, modern industrial look.

Home is about creating a sense of place. Little moments add up to a sense of well being, such as looking out at framed views of the garden, or feeling the ocean breeze waft through the house. This connection to place guided the overall design, with the practical requirements to add a bedroom and bathroom quickly ( the client was pregnant!), and in a way that allowed the couple to live at home during the construction. The design also focused on connecting the interior to the backyard while maintaining privacy from nearby neighbors. Sustainability was at the forefront of the project, from choosing green building materials to designing a high-efficiency space. The composite bamboo decking, cork and bamboo flooring, tiles made with recycled content, and cladding made of recycled paper are all examples of durable green materials that have a wonderfully rich tactility to them. This addition was a second phase to the Mar Vista Sustainable Remodel, which took a tear-down home and transformed it into this family's forever home.
