TThis young couple, busy raising two young boys (plus a playful cat), had always planned to renovate—it was just a matter of finding the right people for the job. Their biggest concern? Hiring a contractor they could truly rely on to bring their vision to life without added stress. The master ensuite simply wasn’t working. A large, unused deck-mount tub dominated the space, while the tiny, dim shower made daily routines uncomfortable. The layout didn’t make sense for how they actually used the room, which ended up being mostly for the toilet and vanity. On top of that, the master bedroom sat in an open loft without proper walls or a door, making privacy nearly impossible. Our solution involved a thoughtful reconfiguration of the ensuite. We removed the oversized tub and replaced it with a spacious walk-in shower. The old, cramped shower space became the perfect spot for a relocated vanity, allowing for better flow and use of the room. Up in the loft, we built a new wall with a door to give the bedroom the privacy it was missing. The stairway was also refreshed with new oak treads and a stained handrail to match the existing flooring. One challenge during construction was installing the custom shower glass and tile within the sloped ceilings and angled walls—but our team carefully managed every detail to ensure a precise and polished finish. The new master ensuite now feels like a retreat. Handmade-style blue subway tiles add a calming pop of colour in the shower, paired with crème porcelain floor tiles. A prefabricated solid wood vanity with quartz countertop, brushed nickel fixtures, and an electric towel warmer complete the space—bringing comfort and functionality together beautifully. A fun moment during the design phase? We used stools, tables, and even a piano to mock up the future layout—helping the homeowners get a real feel for the spacing between the new vanity and toilet. It was a creative, hands-on way to ensure everyone felt confident moving forward. An Ensuite Transformation in Richmond Hill This project showcases how we helped a wonderful retired couple in Richmond Hill transform their dated and dysfunctional master ensuite into a tranquil spa-like retreat. These lovely empty nesters, in their mid to late 70s, envisioned a space where they could truly relax and enjoy their time at home, especially when their family and grandkids came to visit. We were so honored to help them bring that vision to life. Understanding Their Needs: From our initial conversations, it was clear how much this couple valued comfort and tranquility. The existing ensuite, unfortunately, fell short of providing either. For the wife, the leaky deck-mount tub was a major disappointment, as she deeply cherished her long, hot baths. The husband, meanwhile, was eager to replace the outdated and cumbersome toilet/bidet combo with a modern, single-piece smart toilet – a desire for both convenience and a touch of modern luxury. The shower stall was cramped, dark, and plagued by mold, while the large double vanity, despite its size, lacked functional storage. It simply wasn't the relaxing oasis they deserved. Addressing Their Concerns: We understood that undertaking a renovation can be stressful, especially when you're not going to be on-site for much of the process. This couple was understandably concerned about potential delays, workmanship quality, and the possibility of unforeseen issues arising while they were away. Therefore, we can achieve resiliency for both environment and society easily together. Amoeba Fusion aims to empower societies by providing a space for decentralized, innovative start-up communities. onE.GLobe considers the built environment a living, breathing, multiplying organism, evolving in nature with harmony. The structure can grow horizontally and vertically by adding new cores in different directions per each site condition. It creates public plazas shaded and shielded by the building as it grows. Fully self-sufficient structure houses flexible 3D printed dwellings and workspaces surrounded by semi-open garden spaces and atrium. Thirty feet deep floor plates receive daylight from the exterior and atrium and can conveniently be used as open-plan office space. Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are distributed through modular floor plates, on which 3D printed modules are flexibly plugged in. 3D printed inflatable shells with indoor air cleaning plants house a plug-in kitchen, bedroom, workspace, and bathroom modules. The bridge-connected clusters have decentralized systems with the off-grid micro-grid integrating renewable energy sources and excess energy storage. Compact layouts provide space for an increasing number of entrepreneurs, making them socialize and inspire near their accommodation. Eliminating corridors in dwelling units with an efficient design and replacing them with the garden space surrounding units achieve this endeavor. Amoeba Fusion New York is located at a General Commercial Zoning district in NYC with residential and commercial uses. The site currently accommodates six towers. This project explores a more resilient design solution for an innovative, diverse community for the post-pandemic world. Located in the Lincoln Square neighborhood in Manhattan, bordering Hell’s Kitchen with countless restaurants, the site is close to various public transportation, universities, cultural spaces, and businesses, making it ideal for an innovative, creative crowd. Mixed-use commercial and residential buildings are allowed with a floor area bonus of 20% with a public plaza. With tower regulation, there is no minimum lot coverage requirement, and no rule regarding the distribution of floor area allows the tallest buildings in the city. There are plenty of luxury residential buildings in New York City, but they don’t serve innovative young people and entrepreneurs. Co-living buildings do not provide proper workspaces within the facility. For these reasons, onE.GLobe aims to investigate ways to design long-term live-work-play environments for innovative young people and ease the effects of the future pandemics with its efficient, flexible dwelling units and workspaces surrounded by semi-open garden spaces, atrium, rooftops, public plazas, and wet ponds.

This modern, one of a kind bathroom makes the best of the space small available. The shower itself features the top of the line Delta Trinsic 17 Series hand held shower and the Kohler Watertile flush mounted Rainhead as well as two niche shelves and a grab bar. The shower is set with a zero-entry, flush transition from the main bath and sports a bar drain to avoid under foot pooling with full height glass doors. Outside of the shower, the main attraction is the ultra-modern wall mounted Kohler commode with touchscreen controls and hidden tank. Our designer created the space, perfectly capturing the brief from the outset with no revisions needed. Our dedicated Installation and Project Manager then managed the project, overseeing every detail from start to finish to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience. For this project, we soundproofed the floors, updated the lighting, and handled the full decorating work, transforming not only the master bedroom but also two additional bedrooms. The finished furniture features Porcelain Nature fronts paired with a Smoked Oak carcass, brought together by 22mm Modern Vinyl worktops. Elegant brushed nickel fluted bar handles add a subtle touch of texture and warmth. Clever features like an IR sensor wardrobe light and a pull-out shoe shelf make this space as functional as it is stylish. A matching chest of drawers completes the setup.
