This beautiful study was part of a whole house design and renovation by Haven Design and Construction. For this room, our objective was to create a feminine and sophisticated study for our client. She requested a design that was unique and fresh, but still warm and inviting. We wallpapered the back of the bookcases in an eye catching metallic vine pattern to add a feminine touch. Then, we selected a deep gray tone from the wallpaper and painted the bookcases and wainscoting in this striking color. We replaced the carpet with a light wood flooring that compliments the gray woodwork. Our client preferred a petite desk, just large enough for paying bills or working on her laptop, so our first furniture selection was a lovely black desk with feminine curved detailing and delicate star hardware. The room still needed a focal point, so we selected a striking lucite and gold chandelier to set the tone. The design was completed by a pair of gray velvet guest chairs. The gold twig pattern on the back of the chairs compliments the metallic wallpaper pattern perfectly. Finally the room was carefully detailed with unique accessories and custom bound books to fill the bookcases.

Our latest project in Harlem involves the transformation of the lower two floors of a four-story brownstone into a vibrant and playful duplex apartment. The design balances functionality with whimsy, creating a bright, welcoming home full of character and personality. The main floor is designed as an open-concept living and kitchen area that maximizes both light and space. The living room is anchored by a striking custom-built floor-to-ceiling unit, which serves as a multifunctional centerpiece, combining a TV entertainment center, a bar, and display shelving. This elegant feature also subtly divides the living area from the staircase leading to the lower level. The kitchen, a focal point of the home, features floor-to-ceiling cabinetry that makes full use of the high ceilings, blending grey tones with walnut finishes. A playful multicolored triangular-tiled backsplash adds an element of fun, while large glass sliding doors lead to a newly constructed deck overlooking the backyard. Above the kitchen sink, a generously sized window allows natural light to flood in, transforming what was once a dimly lit space into a bright and inviting area. At the front of the main floor, a small music studio offers flexibility and creativity. This space can be enclosed with floor-to-ceiling aluminum and glass sliding partitions, maintaining the open flow of the layout while offering privacy when needed. A bold powder room further enhances the personality of the space. It features a custom black wall-mounted concrete sink with an angular design that wraps around the toilet. The sink is set against a fullheight mirrored wall, which reflects the dynamic black-and-white graffiti wallpaper, making the compact space both striking and memorable. The lower level is dedicated to the private quarters, designed with comfort and luxury in mind. The primary bedroom suite is a true sanctuary, boasting a spacious ensuite bath with a luxurious open wet-room concept. At its heart is a freestanding white soaking tub, complemented by dark blue hexagonal tiles that cover the floor and extend up the wall behind the double vanities, creating a dramatic and cohesive effect. The toilet is tucked away in a separate room painted in a matching deep blue, adding to the suite’s serene and cohesive ambiance. This level also includes a second bedroom and a guest bath, each reflecting the playful design theme of the home. The guest bathroom is particularly delightful, with sunny white and yellow hexagonal tiles on the walls and a matching yellow tile floor, creating a cheerful and uplifting space. Every detail of this Harlem duplex reflects the client’s vision for a home that feels modern yet full of personality. From the playful material choices to the thoughtful use of light and space, the design celebrates the character of the historic brownstone while embracing contemporary living.

This breathtaking kitchen remodel strikes the perfect balance between timeless traditional elegance and modern culinary functionality. The result is a bright, airy chef's kitchen that feels simultaneously grand and warmly livable — a space the whole family gravitates toward. The design is anchored by crisp white inset-style cabinetry with polished nickel hardware that runs floor to ceiling, maximizing every inch of storage while creating a cohesive, custom built-in aesthetic. The standout feature is the two-tone treatment: upper perimeter cabinets in a clean bright white contrast beautifully against the large central island dressed in a sophisticated warm gray, adding depth and visual interest without disrupting the room's airy palette. Countertops throughout are a show-stopping Calacatta-style quartz, featuring dramatic gray veining on a bright white ground — lending the look of natural marble with the durability of engineered stone. Behind the professional-grade gas range, a layered backsplash tells a tile story: classic white subway tile anchors the field, while a striking marble herringbone mosaic creates a focal tile mural directly behind the hood — a detail that reads as pure artistry. A wall-mounted pot filler in polished nickel adds both practicality and old-world charm. Three oversized geometric polished nickel pendant lanterns hang from the tray ceiling, drawing the eye up while flooding the space with ambient light. The kitchen flows seamlessly into a sun-drenched breakfast room wrapped in plantation shutters and blue-and-white toile valances, where a warm wood round dining table grounds the casual dining area. A dedicated butler's pantry niche off the main kitchen provides an integrated wine cooler, glass-front display cabinetry, a herringbone marble backsplash, and a dedicated coffee station — a self-contained entertaining hub that keeps the main kitchen surfaces clear and serene.

Custom floor-to-ceiling wood cabinetry conceals storage and appliances, creating a seamless modern aesthetic that balances warmth with sophistication. Expansive windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing the clean architectural lines and allowing the quartzite surfaces to shift in character throughout the day. Every element was chosen to embody modern luxury while remaining timeless and livable. This is more than a kitchen; it is the heart of a Buckhead home, designed for everyday living yet ideally suited for entertaining with elegance and ease. The mudroom has a built-in wardrobe to provide ample storage. It features elegant brass vertical pull handles and a small antique bench area for removing shoes. The floor is a major focal point, featuring a striking teal and white geometric tile pattern. A unique, woven teardrop-shaped pendant hangs from the high ceiling, adding an artisan and eclectic touch.

Our client sought to modernize their classic 1970s home while preserving its original charm. This full-home renovation prioritized openness and functionality. We transformed the kitchen into a bright, welcoming space, leveled the sunken living room to expand the living area, and designed seamless indoor-outdoor connections to showcase breathtaking south-west facing golf course & ocean views. The result? A beautifully updated home that harmonizes mid-century character with contemporary comfort. The architecture was fun to work with, featuring dramatic roof pitches, a striking two-story double-sided fireplace, and thoughtfully designed room-to-room connections. Strategic wall cutouts and varying floor levels added interest and character, making this home a truly unique and dynamic space. The kitchen connects to the exterior, dining room, and living room, and features a peninsula and a cozy morning nook for gathering. Thoughtful flow was essential for this busy space, creating distinct yet harmonious spaces to enjoy throughout the home. Texture was thoughtfully incorporated using natural materials, including quartzite with cloud-like movement, woven light fixtures, and high-variation ceramic tile. The oak flooring, rich with knots and striking grain patterns, adds warmth and character to the space.
