Klopf Architecture, Arterra Landscape Architects, and Flegels Construction updated a classic Eichler open, indoor-outdoor home. Expanding on the original walls of glass and connection to nature that is common in mid-century modern homes. The completely openable walls allow the homeowners to truly open up the living space of the house, transforming it into an open air pavilion, extending the living area outdoors to the private side yards, and taking maximum advantage of indoor-outdoor living opportunities. Taking the concept of borrowed landscape from traditional Japanese architecture, the fountain, concrete bench wall, and natural landscaping bound the indoor-outdoor space. The Truly Open Eichler is a remodeled single-family house in Palo Alto. This 1,712 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom is located in the heart of the Silicon Valley. In the large space, we added framing detail to separate the room into a joined, but visually zoned room. This allowed us to have a separate area for the kids games and a space for gathering around the TV during a moving or while watching sports. We added a large ceiling light to lower the ceiling in the space as well as soffits to give more visual dimension to the room. The large interior window in the back leads to an office up the stairs. Completed in the summer of 2013, this modern garden is located in Highland Park, Texas just north of Dallas. This garden features a modern edge with a swimming pool, concrete terraces, Ipe wood decks, a unique wood fence an outdoor shade structure with fireplace. The garden also includes and outdoor cooking area with Kalamazoo appliances.

With an eye toward accessibility, this bathroom is designed to ease the everyday routines of a homeowner who often uses a wheelchair. Universal design strategies guided the project structurally with ADA-compatible elements incorporated throughout. Motorized Pergolas are retractable roof systems ideal for modern architectural settings. The structure is made of aluminium treated with exclusive an aluinox treatment making the metal surface similar to steel. The utility of the structures have absolutely unmatched aesthetics.

The structure was recently built, but it appeared as though it had been there for many years - a blending of the old and new. The studio was built in a remote location with no crane access; and yet, AMRON successfully erected the six ton roof structure.

Oversized warm gray porcelain wall tile partners beautifully with a diminutive square tile on the shower floor, while brushed nickel hardware and quartz countertops complete a timeless, classic appeal. This simple, modern pool structure is a perfect aesthetic match for a rectilinear pool surrounded by coordinated decking. Sliding glass doors open to a simple indoor space, and an outdoor kitchen lies just below an overhang.

A full Corian shower in bright white ensures that this small bathroom will never feel cramped. A recessed niche with back-lighting is a fun way to add an accent detail within the shower.
