The existing pool created the framework for this contemporary landscape in Lawrence Park. Credit Valley flagstone and walling stone are a staple for Toronto landscaping. The matching red brick ties the cabana structure into the house giving this landscape a seamless approach in its execution.

camilleriparismode projects and design team were approached to rethink a previously unused double height room in a wonderful villa. the lower part of the room was planned as a sitting and dining area, the sub level above as a tv den and games room. as the occupants enjoy their time together as a family, as well as their shared love of books, a floor-to-ceiling library was an ideal way of using and linking the large volume. the large library covers one wall of the room spilling into the den area above. it is given a sense of movement by the differing sizes of the verticals and shelves, broken up by randomly placed closed cupboards. the floating marble fireplace at the base of the library unit helps achieve a feeling of lightness despite it being a complex structure, while offering a cosy atmosphere to the family area below. the split-level den is reached via a solid oak staircase, below which is a custom made wine room. the staircase is concealed from the dining area by a high wall, painted in a bold colour on which a collection of paintings is displayed. photos by: brian grech

This custom island and dining table was designed and built for a modern residential project in Colorado using two book-matched, kiln-dried walnut slabs selected from our Denver warehouse. The piece features beveled long edges and partial waterfall ends that highlight the natural grain and character of locally sourced wood. A fully engineered steel box frame with a powder-coat finish provides structural support while maintaining a clean, contemporary profile. The combination of warm walnut and modern steel makes this piece well suited for high-end homes, mountain residences, and design-forward interiors. We collaborated closely with the homeowner and design team to ensure the scale, finish, and material details aligned seamlessly with the surrounding architecture. The home owners came to us wanting to upgrade their kitchen and overall aesthetic in their suburban home, with a combination of fresh paint, updated finishes, and improved flow for more ease when doing everyday activities. A monochromatic, earth-toned palette left the kitchen feeling uninspired. It lacked the brightness they wanted from their space. An eat-in table underutilized the available square footage. The butler’s pantry was out of the way and hard to access, and the dining room felt detached from the kitchen. Lead Designer, Stephanie Cole, saw an improved layout for the spaces that were no longer working for this family. By eliminating an existing wall between the kitchen and dining room, and relocating the bar area to the dining room, we opened up the kitchen, providing all the space we needed to create a dreamy and functional layout. A new perimeter configuration promoted circulation while also making space for a large and functional island loaded with seating – a must for any family. Because an island that isn’t big enough for everyone (and a few more) is a recipe for disaster. The light white cabinetry is fresh and contrasts with the deeper tones in the wood flooring, creating a modern aesthetic that is elevated, yet approachable for everyday living. With better flow as the overarching goal, we made some structural changes too. To remove a bottleneck in the entryway, we angled one of the dining room walls to create more natural separation between rooms and facilitate ease of movement throughout the large space. At The Kitchen Studio, we believe a well-designed kitchen uses every square inch to the fullest. By starting from scratch, it was possible to rethink the entire kitchen layout and design the space according to how it is used, because the kitchen shouldn’t make it harder to feed the family. A new location for the existing range, flanked by a new column refrigerator and freezer on each side, worked to anchor the space. The very large and very spacious island (a dream island if we do say so ourselves) now houses the primary sink and provides ample space for food prep and family gathering. The new kitchen table and coordinating banquette seating provide a cozy nook for quick breakfasts before school or work, and evening homework sessions. Elegant gold details catch the natural light, elevating the aesthetic. The dining room was transformed into one of this client’s favorite spaces and we couldn’t agree more. We saw an opportunity to give the dining room a more distinguished identity by closing off the entrance from the foyer. The relocated wet bar enhances the sophisticated vibe of this gathering space, complete with beautiful antique mirror tiles and open shelving encased by moody built-in cabinets. Updated furnishings add warmth. A rich walnut table is paired with custom chairs in a muted coral fabric. The large, transitional chandelier grounds the room, pairing beautifully with the gold finishes prevalent in the faucet and cabinet hardware. Linen-inspired wallpaper and cream-toned window treatments add to the glamorous feel of this entertainment space. There is no way around it. The laundry room was cramped. The large washer and dryer blocked access to the sink and left little room for the space to serve its other essential function – as a mudroom. Because we reworked the kitchen layout to create more space overall, we could rethink the mudroom too – an essential for any busy family. The first step was moving the washer and dryer to an existing area on the second floor, where most of the family’s laundry lives (no one wants to carry laundry up and down the stairs if they don’t have to anyway). This is a more functional solution and opened up the space for all the mudroom necessities – including the existing kitchen refrigerator, loads of built-in cubbies, and a bench. It’s hard to not fall in love with every detail of a new space, especially when it serves your day-to-day life. But that doesn’t mean the clients didn’t have their favorite features they use on the daily. This remodel was focused largely on function with a new kitchen layout. And it’s the functional features that have the biggest impact. The large island provides much needed workspace in the kitchen and is a spot where everyone gathers together – it grounds the space and the family. And the custom counter stools are the icing on the cake. The nearby mudroom has everything their previous space was lacking – ample storage, space for everyone’s essentials, and the beloved cement floor tiles that are both durable and artistic.

This bathroom was designed for two professionals who dedicate themselves to the health and wellness of others. The objective of the project was to be able to practice for themselves, what they preach to their patients. The original 90” x 162” primary bathroom had so many pain points (would you to look at a toilet when taking a relaxing bath?), that it should have been an easy task to meet their needs and desires, but it was anything but due to structural issues with the home. Several design layouts were considered before it was concluded that the only approach to check the ‘needs’ boxes was to flip the primary fixtures in the room from one end of this long, narrow bathroom to the other and incorporating a wet room. The needs list included a soaking tub, a spacious shower that accommodated dual showering on business workday morning, more counter space, a bidet toilet, more storage, better lighting, better heat and humidity control, a soothing color pallet and privacy from the neighbors. An air jet soaking tub (motor concealed in the nearby vented base cabinet) under a new window with privacy glass on the bottom and a clear glass awning window on top checked two boxes. The center drain for the bathing features provides space for two people to shower simultaneously while highlighting the soothing color pallet from every view point in the room. The integrated bidet toilet is an affordable luxury that delivers health and wellness multiples times in a day. The expanded vanity optimized storage while providing more, clutter free countertop space. Utilizing a variety of lighting types, with dimmers, provides the right illumination for every bathroom activity. Lastly, the in-floor heat, toe-kick heater and relocated bathroom exhaust fan over the shower help maintain a consistently comfortable temperature and humidity level in this bathroom transformation.

Fiam Italia designs, develops and produces items of furniture in curved glass, creating them through a combination of craftsmanship and industrial processes, while merging tradition and innovation, through a hand-­crafted approach.

We were excited when the homeowners of this project approached us to help them with their whole house remodel as this is a historic preservation project. The historical society has approved this remodel. As part of that distinction we had to honor the original look of the home; keeping the façade updated but intact. For example the doors and windows are new but they were made as replicas to the originals. The homeowners were relocating from the Inland Empire to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. One of their requests was additional living space. In order to achieve this we added a second story to the home while ensuring that it was in character with the original structure. The interior of the home is all new. It features all new plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Although the home is a Spanish Revival the homeowners style on the interior of the home is very traditional. The project features a home gym as it is important to the homeowners to stay healthy and fit. The kitchen / great room was designed so that the homewoners could spend time with their daughter and her children. The home features two master bedroom suites. One is upstairs and the other one is down stairs. The homeowners prefer to use the downstairs version as they are not forced to use the stairs. They have left the upstairs master suite as a guest suite. All of the windows and doors were replicated to match the original styling of the house. The roof is a combination of Gable and Hip and is made of red clay tile. The arched door and windows are typical of Spanish Revival. The home also features a Juliette Balcony and window. Library / Living Room: The library offers Pocket Doors and custom bookcases. Powder Room: This powder room has a black toilet and Herringbone travertine. Kitchen: This kitchen was designed for someone who likes to cook! It features a Pot Filler, a peninsula and an island, a prep sink in the island, and cookbook storage on the end of the peninsula. The homeowners opted for a mix of stainless and paneled appliances. Although they have a formal dining room they wanted a casual breakfast area to enjoy informal meals with their grandchildren. The kitchen also utilizes a mix of recessed lighting and pendant lights. A wine refrigerator and outlets conveniently located on the island and around the backsplash are the modern updates that were important to the homeowners. Master bath: The master bath enjoys both a soaking tub and a large shower with body sprayers and hand held. For privacy, the bidet was placed in a water closet next to the shower. There is plenty of counter space in this bathroom which even includes a makeup table. Staircase: The staircase features a decorative niche Upstairs master suite: The upstairs master suite features the Juliette balcony Outside: Wanting to take advantage of southern California living the homeowners requested an outdoor kitchen complete with retractable awning. The fountain and lounging furniture keep it light. Home gym: This gym comes completed with rubberized floor covering and dedicated bathroom. It also features its own HVAC system and wall mounted TV.

This cottage style family home within a private estate was transformed through a full house renovation, reworking the internal layout and extending the property to create a more contemporary, spacious and practical home for modern family life. The project involved switching the downstairs layout from east to west, allowing the main living spaces to work more naturally with the light, views and flow of the house. A substantial upstairs extension was also added, giving the family the additional space they needed while carefully balancing the original character of the home with a more modern architectural approach. Designed for a large family with children ranging from very young to teenagers, the interiors needed to feel elegant and high-end, while still being robust, comfortable and welcoming. The scheme brought together luxury finishes, bespoke detailing and carefully considered layouts to create a home that feels both refined and liveable. A key part of the brief was to incorporate the client’s much loved antique pieces into the new design. These items added history, personality and a sense of permanence, helping the contemporary glass structure and extended areas feel connected to the story of the house. The result is a sophisticated family home that blends character, artisan craftsmanship, contemporary architecture and timeless interior design, a luxurious but practical home created for family life.

Perched above the beautiful Delaware River in the historic village of New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania sits this magnificent custom home designed by OMNIA Group Architects. According to Partner, Brian Mann,"This riverside property required a nuanced approach so that it could at once be both a part of this eclectic village streetscape and take advantage of the spectacular waterfront setting." Further complicating the study, the lot was narrow, it resides in the floodplain and the program required the Master Suite to be on the main level. To meet these demands, OMNIA dispensed with conventional historicist styles and created an open plan blended with traditional forms punctuated by vast rows of glass windows and doors to bring in the panoramic views of Lambertville, the bridge, the wooded opposite bank and the river. Mann adds, "Because I too live along the river, I have a special respect for its ever changing beauty - and I appreciate that riverfront structures have a responsibility to enhance the views from those on the water." Hence the riverside facade is as beautiful as the street facade. A sweeping front porch integrates the entry with the vibrant pedestrian streetscape. Low garden walls enclose a beautifully landscaped courtyard defining private space without turning its back on the street. Once inside, the natural setting explodes into view across the back of each of the main living spaces. For a home with so few walls, spaces feel surprisingly intimate and well defined. The foyer is elegant and features a free flowing curved stair that rises in a turret like enclosure dotted with windows that follow the ascending stairs like a sculpture. "Using changes in ceiling height, finish materials and lighting, we were able to define spaces without boxing spaces in" says Mann adding, "the dynamic horizontality of the river is echoed along the axis of the living space; the natural movement from kitchen to dining to living rooms following the current of the river." Service elements are concentrated along the front to create a visual and noise barrier from the street and buttress a calm hall that leads to the Master Suite. The master bedroom shares the views of the river, while the bath and closet program are set up for pure luxuriating. The second floor features a common loft area with a large balcony overlooking the water. Two children's suites flank the loft - each with their own exquisitely crafted baths and closets. Continuing the balance between street and river, an open air bell-tower sits above the entry porch to bring life and light to the street. Outdoor living was part of the program from the start. A covered porch with outdoor kitchen and dining and lounge area and a fireplace brings 3-season living to the river. And a lovely curved patio lounge surrounded by grand landscaping by LDG finishes the experience. OMNIA was able to bring their design talents to the finish materials too including cabinetry, lighting, fixtures, colors and furniture.

Perched up on a hill with views of the park, old skate pond with stone warming house, this old stone house looks like it may have been part of an original estate that included the park. It is one of the many jewels in South Orange, New Jersey. The side porch however, was lacking. The owners approached us to take the covered concrete patio with mildewed dropped ceiling just off the living room, and create a three season room that was a bit more refined while maintaining the rustic charm that could be used as an indoor/outdoor space when entertaining. So without compromising the historical details and charm of the original stone structure, we went to work. First we enclosed the porch. A series of custom picture and operable casement windows by JELD-WEN were installed between the existing stone columns. We added matching stone below each set of windows and cast sill to match the existing homes’ details. Second, a set of custom sliding mahogany barn doors with black iron hardware were installed to enclose an eight foot opening. When open, entertaining between the house and the adjacent patio flows. Third, we enhanced this indoor outdoor connection with blue stone floors in an English pattern that flow to the new blue stone patio of the same pattern. And lastly, we demolished the drop ceiling and created a varnished batten with bead board cove ceiling adding height and drama. New lighting, ceiling fan from New York Lighting and furnishings indoors and out bring it all together for a beautiful and rustic indoor outdoor space that is comfortable and pleasantly refined.

**Green Giant Privacy Installation – Estate-Scale Screening** This project focused on creating immediate, full-scale privacy for a large residential property through the installation of over 400 Green Giant arborvitae. The objective was to establish a defined boundary and visual enclosure without compromising the openness or natural character of the landscape. The layout was carefully planned to follow the length of the drive, framing the approach to the home while maintaining symmetry and consistency. Trees were spaced and aligned with precision to ensure long-term uniform growth, allowing the screen to mature into a dense, continuous barrier. Site preparation played a critical role in the success of the installation. The planting areas were properly graded and amended to support healthy root development, with irrigation integrated to promote establishment and sustained growth. This ensures the trees not only thrive but maintain their structure and density over time. Green Giant arborvitae were selected for their reliability, fast growth rate, and ability to provide year-round coverage. Their upright form allows for effective screening without overwhelming the space, making them ideal for large properties requiring both privacy and scale.
